Read BEFORE you buy at Clay Cooley: Buyer beware of hidden fees in your contract! I called them about a vehicle listed plainly on cars.com for $18,475. I was told by Nicole that the online price was the price. I told her that was good, can she get me an out the door price. She called me back and told me $19700 out the door. I asked where the other $1300 came from, was that TTL? Financing fees? What? She said she couldn't go over the breakdown, then transferred me to the service manager. I asked him if $18475 was the price, he said yes, but read the fine print, that price doesn't include dealer add one. He said they charge $1300 for the "Clay Cooley Package", which is something they put on every vehicle. He said it includes a tracking device because a lot of cars get stolen in Dallas, some anti oxidation for the paint job, and locking lug nuts. I told him I didn't care about any of that and just want the car for the price advertised online. I didn't have time for games or tricks or dishonesty. He said he'd call me back. This was about 5:30. He never did, I didn't worry about it because I wasn't interested in playing games. But about 8:00pm Abigail reached out to me from there. I recounted the prior conversations and told her I wasn't interested if $18475 wasn't the price. Duncanville is about an hour and a half from North Fort Worth with traffic and I didn't want to waste my time. I was assured $18475 was the price and she linked me up with a salesman named Pa. I spoke to him briefly, he confirmed the price again. I now had 4 people confirm the price of $18475. The sales manager never called me back, so I assumed he was out of the deal. I agreed to come the next day. I arrived at 3pm and asked for Pa. I was told Pa worked in new cars, but eventually they got him to come. He said hello and left. That was the extent of the interaction. However, guess who comes out to see me. The sales manager. We immediately start the conversation from the previous night as I ask him about the $18475 price. I mention that now 4 people had given me that price and that's why I came. He started his same lame spiel about how the $1300 was his cost and he wasn't making ANY money. Whatever. But they had succeeded in getting me there, so I looked at the car and asked them to run my numbers. They assigned a female sales person to me. I sit down and she brings me the "deal". They gave it at over $22000 all in because they attempted to charge me $2,495.00 for the Clay Cooley Package. I told the lady I didn't want to pay it, and even then, $1300 was what they tried to hide in there the first time. She went down to $1300 immediately. I said I still don't want to pay it. She gave the same tired talking points about how it cost them $1300 to do the Clay Cooley Package. I told her in as nice a way as possible, I didn't believe her. Locking lug nuts are $25 at Auto Zone, and beyond that they are pretty much standard on Ford Mustangs. I didn't say anything about the tracking but a quick look on Amazon shows you can get a variety of tracking devices for between $19.99-$49.99. To make a long review short, they try to rip you off. They're not as bad as Vandergiff Hyundai, but props to Clay Cooley because they come in second. I feel pity for anyone buying a car from here not looking at their paperwork, and especially for those two women yall ripped off who bought the car I walked away from. I wonder if y'all took them for $1300 or if y'all really cleaned up by sticking it to them with the whole $2,495 in there. Shameful. Buyer beware. I'm sure someone will come on here and try to do damage control. It just trying to save face. Just look at the contract line by line and don't let them cheat you.... because they will. And your sales manager is rude. Read your reviews on Google, apparently that's how y'all treat customers on the daily. How do y'all work there and sleep at night, knowing you roll all that extra money into those contracts? Are y'all really at peace with yourselves doing that to people? And don't cry for me, I found a super sweet race red Mustang convertible that I paid cash for. $20,500 and that includes TT&L, and guess what, no dealer fees. I bought at Palomino Motors in Dallas. They were great. The price online was the price they charged. What a concept. I figured if y'all at Clay Cooley didn't want my 20k cash money, someone else would. Also, quit emailing me Clay Cooley Nissan. I'll never buy a car from y'all. You missed my business this time, and you also lost me forever. read more

I have received many of the promotion cards that you can scratch for numbers to see if you have won. You are to take the card to the dealership on the card to claim the winning or complimentary prize and USUALLY the instructions are very clear. Today I pull a card out of the mailbox and in the top left corner, the title pf the scratch game is "Match & Win." Your 5 digit number is provided and there are 5 scratch boxes, and the instructions are as follows "Scratch off all 5. Match to this number to win. These instructions are directly under the number the card has for you. Over to the right of the card there is a verification number that you can either text or call the number to receive instant confirmation of your prize. Now the person you speak to is only to confirm your verification code and does not know what prize you actually won. I go to the dealership on the card, Clay Cooley Nissan Galleria and the gentleman I spoke with took my name and my vehicle information and asked if I were interested in trading out my vehicle. I drive a 2019 Infiniti QX60 so me trading out is insane. He takes my card and says he will be right back. When he returns, he says I didn't win! I am looking at the card that clearly stated I won and he said that I did not win any of the big prizes but I won the $100 gift card. I show him how misleading and falsely advertised the card was and he said he would call someone down. Some guy comes down to try to explain to me that the left hand top corner on the card that says I won a $1k gift card was not for a gift card but rather to show me that I won the opportunity to come into the store to see if my verification number matched one of the big prizes. I explained that was false advertisement as well as misleading and he said that regardless of what the instructions at the top read, that is what it meant. I explained that nowhere on that card does it read that and he said it was down in the fine print..... We look and read together and NOWHERE on that card does it read that. Clay Cooley Nissan is a fraud with misleading and false advertisement! I get it, you want people to come in so they can be convinced to buy a new car, but to have me think I won and I get to the store to learn I didn't is false advertisement and misleading. If I were considering buying a new car, I would purchase from a junkyard before Clay Cooley Nissan simply because this the tactics they used in this instance is down right dirty and as a dealership they should be ashamed to have this type of behavior. I called the store today Jan 31 and some guy tells me that the dealership is not in the habit of just giving away $1k gift cards and I would have had to purchase a vehicle from them to claim the prize I won on the card. After the horrible experiences, my family, friends and I have had with Clay Cooley Nissan, Duncanville, I was blown away by the customer service and how well BJ and your staff took care of me during this visit. I started bringing my Infiniti SUV to Clay Cooley because I am unable to drive to my regular Infiniti dealership, due to a medical condition. Their customer service is five star, they always offered a rental no matter the service time, so I can get on with my day, they offer special desserts and snacks and they made sure that all of their customers feel special, even though they had many customers there. Normally, at this dealership that is not the case. Everything is rushed, the customer is made to feel less than, disrespected and sometimes your staff was rude. I remember the last time I asked if I could get a ride home when I dropped my vehicle off, they looked at me as if I had said something totally ridiculous and mentioned Uber. I did get a ride, but Ibelieve I waited an hour to get home on that day. Today, BJ, Reese, who picked me up at my home so I could retrieve my vehicle and Mary Lou who returned my missed phone call made my day ! That has never happened in six years with any of us! We all dreaded bringing our vehicles to your dealership and put it off until the last possible moment! So today, Clay Cooley Nissan Duncanville, you get five stars. I'm not sure what happened to light a fire under you guys but I like it and I hope it continues. I might even refer customers to your dealership, if it continues. However, you're going to have to retain people like BJ. So many have left your dealership for various reasons. Once I'm comfortable with a service tech, the next time I visit the dealership, they're no longer there. The last one I spoke with on the phone months ago, two weeks later, he was gone. Thankfully, I had his cell after four weeks of being told that he was on vacation instead of he was no longer there. If you would focus on Customer Service and not be so hell-bent on making more money, padding charges and adding services that nobody wants or appreciates, you would do so much better! I love getting a diagnostic that tells me what I need to do in the future but I don't want to be beat over the head with it. Especially, if it's not urgent. Your customers are a lot smarter than you give us credit for and we always have choices, lots of them! I had a horrible experience with this dealership on this past memorial weekend! I went in on firday may 23rd with a trade in ( 2012 nissan sentra) I explained that i knew i was upside down in the car payment and just wanted to know what were my options. The salesman had me and my boyfriend to come in and assured us that i could trade my car ( 2012 nissan sentra) in on a 2014 nissan altima. They also agreed to give us 9,000 plus dollars for my trade in. They gave me new keys to the altima even went over the handbook and gave me all the incentive info on the new altima and took my old keys to the sentra and took us back to the finance dept. We began reviewing the infomation and the finance guy asked us if we had trade in? ( infomation he already knew) we said yes and he said he didnt know we had a trade in. i SAID WAIT A MINUTE! FIRST OF ALL HE had a totally new worksheet drawn up from the time we originally agreed and the original worksheet stated all the agreed upon terms. Anyways, the Finance guy walks out of the office and brings in another guy in finance who we aslo had negotiated with earlier and he also pretended not to know we had a trade in. I GOT furious especiallly since we had wasted 18 hours between the course of friday and saturday just to find out that these guys intentions was to sell us the new altima without trading in my nissan sentra and they intended to allow my nissan to be repoed. These people are scandoulous and their salesman even suggested that i let his friend do an insurance fraud on my nissan sentra and allow someone to burn it up to get out of my current car payment. Mind you they are the same dealership that sold me my nissan 2 years ago @ $ 20,000 and i put 3,000 down and they have me stuck in $489.00 payment for 72 months. I took the deal at the time because i felt i had very challenged credit. I wonder how many other people have been scammed by these crooks. I think their salesman should be fired and possibly charged for trying to influence customers to committ fraud and for pretending to do one type of business deal but alll along they are only trying to make money at the consumers expense. My car, valued at $23,000, ended up being financed for $30,000 and not mentioned I had a trade in , coupled with undisclosed fees. I acknowledge my responsibility for not scrutinizing the details before signing, but the circumstances at the time were challenging. The real issue emerged when I revisited the agreement four days later and realized that Sam, in finance, hadn't provided any paperwork or thoroughly explained the terms during the transaction. Today, when I approached the dealership to voice my concerns, Sam's defensive and unprofessional demeanor exacerbated the situation. Adding to the frustration, Sam was condescending, insinuating that I needed to be more knowledgeable. He even took out a calculator in a rude manner, as if questioning my ability to count. It's disheartening to experience such behavior, especially when seeking resolution. It raises concerns about transparency and fair practices within the dealership. I believe Sam's approach would have been different if a man were present, highlighting a potential gender bias. I feel compelled to share this review to caution others about the importance of being knowledgeable and prepared during car purchases. Given the severity of the situation, I will be reporting this to the Texas Attorney General, the Texas DMV, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), as well as seeking legal counsel to address the deceptive practices I encountered. I hope my experience serves as a warning to others navigating the car-buying process at Clay and Cooley. We purchased a car from this dealership but all the trouble we went through and the unprofessional experience we had, has left us knowing this is the first and absolute last time! We purchased the car with the agreement that they would fix the cracked windshield plus the rear window, which couldn't be opened nor closed. When I arrived to my appointment with service, to drop off the car, I asked for the car they promised to put me in. The service mgr who received my car said he had absolutely no idea about this and instead of helping me figure it out, just told me to wait in the sales floor. After sitting there for a while, without anybody coming to check back with me, a sales guy finally asked what I was waiting for, as apparently nobody knew. After waiting for 3 hours, I was finally put in a rental. Two tires out of the dealership, I noticed the rental had warning lights on (tire pressure, I think), so I turned around and went back. I had the mgr, who I had handed my car to, Johnny, paged a few times...nothing. Had another mgr paged...nothing. Finally asked to speak to the head of the entire service area, Jay???, and after a few minutes, he finally shows up. I explained my frustration and asked him to check the rental before handing it to me. He explained that he would stay on top of my case and would call me as soon as he had news for me. 1 day short of a week, and after various unanswered calls, I was transferred to Roland, who explained he was the assistant general mgr of the dealership. PROFESSIONALISM FINALLY! He understood why I was frustrated and even indicated he would be just as, or more frustrated himself, if he experienced what I had. The part that Service had been waiting for, for about a week, suddenly appeared. Within 2 hours, Roland himself called me back to say my car was ready. He is the only reason this very unprofessional dealership gets 2 stars instead of 1 (or less, if it was possible). Either way, DON'T SEE CLAY WHEN BUYING A CAR. read more

If I could give them a negative star rating I would, and here is why....Last weekend my elderly grandmother (WHO HAS RECENTLY BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ALZHEIMER'S) got an advertisement in the mail that said, "Come on down and see if you are eligible to win a free car." Being a naive and mentally unwell 81 year old, she followed the flyer's advice and went down there to look into this contest... A few hours later she drove off the lot with a brand new car that these ass holes sold to her. Let me again point out that my grandmother has Alzheimer's and is not in anyway capable of making sound financial decisions, Anyone who spends more than 5 minutes with her would be able to tell that she is not completely aware of what is going on at any given time. So instead of being a decent person and sending her on her way these people instead take her for all she is worth and sell her a top of the line band new car with all the bells and whistles and -of course- all the extended warranties and fancy upcharged bullshit packaging. These guys had her sign a contract to pay back 47,000 at $750 a month over 6 years which is WELL beyond her means. When we went in to the dealership the next day to talk to them and explain that she is not in her right mind they tried to tell us that a deal is a deal. Finally, after a heated discussion with the manager they agreed to reverse the deal after we brought in documentation from my grandmother's doctor stating her health condition....All of that being said this is the type of people that work at this dealership. So yeah if you want to buy a car from someone who preys on the sick and vulnerable then Clay Cooley Nissan is the right dealership for you. read more

My name is not important. I was recently in the market for a new car. I literally shopped at three different stores before I got totally discouraged in the buying process.. A friend of mine had a good experience with Clay Cooley Nissan so she gave a sales mngr (Robert Spivey)my phone number. A couple of days later a very professional gentleman called me. I told him my situation. He asked me( as if he already knew) how many dealerships have I shopped. He told me that Clay Cooley Nissan prides itself in great customer service and that he wouldn't bring me in if he didn't think that he could help me. Giving me some pitch about Clay Cooley Nissan being the number one nissan store in Texas...:/ anyway... I gave him some info but didn't have any intention to go to the dealership. I told him what type of car I WANTED and he responded with asking what type of car did I NEED. The next hour or so he called and left me a message stating " lets do business". I was skeptical. I acted as if I wasn't excited but I was kinda jumping inside. When i got off work I said what the hey, I got nothing to lose.. I was in the dealership for approximately one hour and drove home in a brand knew Nissan. Contrary to popular opinion, Clay Cooley Nissan is an honest dealership. The sales mngr Robert and his salesman Chase was a little upfront but i can appreciate there straight forward approach. They helped me when I was turned around by several other dealerships.. Do not do not do not do business with these crooks , I made the mistake of buying a car prior to checking reviews, the price they had on Car Guru was different by almost $900, I was told that the tracking security device is installed already, well then they should have listed it on the add. I proceeded with the negotiation then we agreed on a price, the finance guy by the name of Dominic, start it of with trying to sell me a $9000 extended warranty power train only, I told him no then after a made up excuse apologized and said that it was around $7000 I declined then he asked me how much would I do it for I told him around 4 thousand, after crunching on his computer says om so sorry it was around $4000 I made a mistake it is not 7000 $, I hesitated at first because by I know this guy is a lying professional but decided to sign for the contract only to find out later after the 5 day grace period that although we agreed on 4 thousand he intentionally left the price at $6000 I was so frustrated but it was too late, I called and left a detailed message at the dealer no one called me back, be carefully they are professional crooks they know how to jib you for money. Most likely to his bosses he is a hero, he made them good money on this contract, my fault for not walking out right away, but that is a price I paid for Trusting their finance guy. read more

At a few locations I visited, I wasn't very impressed with how my trade-in or outside financing were handled. However, my experience completely changed when I went to the Clay Cooley Nissan location off I-20 near Wheatland. From the moment I stepped out of my vehicle, Brandon R. provided exceptional service. He was intentional, professional, and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. He made sure all of my questions were answered and stayed focused on helping me accomplish my goal of purchasing a new vehicle. In the end, I was able to buy my first brand-new truck, )straight off the truck) which made the experience even more special. I'll admit I may not have been the easiest customer to work with, but Brandon remained patient and committed to making sure everything worked out. I wish there was a way to give this place 0 stars.. I went to purchase a used vehicle and they apparently have a different address for the used vehicle lot. When I got there, David (supposedly the sales manager) said he would contact the used car sales rep I spoke with about I certain car I was interested in. David wasted my time trying to sell me a new vehicle which was out of my price range, he said he would get me in a new car for the same price so I agreed to listen to him. Once he brought back the price of the new vehicle I told him that was more than I was looking to spend and he got mad at me and my wife for "wasting his time". Once I asked for the manager he called the used car salesman and then proceeded to tell us the used car lot was at a different location. After wasting almost 1 hour of our time he treated us like garbage and told us to leave the dealership. I understand sales and I work sales but this guy and this dealership were a waste of our time and effort. I ended up spending my $24k at a different dealership. I hope Clay Cooley's owner realizes the kind of rats he has working here.. Unfortunately I've heard the owner is another rat so I guess he personally trains them. I submitted a request on the internet for a new Nissan Altima. I was called by Virgil, the internet manager. I explained to him my credit is not that good and I do not have a large down payment. Virgil explained to me how he would like to assist me with my car buying process. He wanted to setup an appointment, I declined. Virgil called me 2 more times and I agreed to go into the dealership. When I met Virgil at the dealership, he already had all my information from the phone conversation we had. He greeted me with a big smile and pulled my chair out for me. We did some small talk, then he said lets go look at your 2014 Altima. He had the car, the color, and the equipment I wanted. After a test drive, now this is where I was impressed the most, he showed me the numbers. The down payment was $300 more than I want to pay but the payment was $22 less a month!!! I had a very nice NIssan Rouge with 75,500 miles, but I was looking to get a new one but not in a big rush. When I went into the dealership I was ready for the big hassle of filling out loan document, running credit and trying to get a monthly rate I could budget with. My attitude was really more than poor because this is something that has always been a bad experience. I had to get on here and comment that even with my very bad attitude Nayeli Ali, along with her sales manager Pablo were able to turn my bad attitude into a good one when they showed me the bottom line deal - with nothing hidden and upfront/no haggle - and it was a deal I could not pass up. Cooley Nissan took care of me and I would recommend them to anyone My daughter will be trading her car in there soon too! Check them out first and you will not need to go anywhere else. We live over 2 hours away, showed interest in a vehicle. They kept pushing us to drive in without seeing any numbers, now we know why... After being passed around to 3 different sales people over 2 days just trying to get some numbers working on a deal they finally send a work up showing the price $1900 higher than what was showing on their own web page. Was told they had more into the vehicle than they thought. Beware of bait and switch and false advertising with this dealership. We have never bought from this dealership and we have purchase many vehicles for personal use as well as fleet managment. We have heard of this happening but never had it happen until now with this dealership and their sales people. Always get it in writing before you make a drive, as they do not honor or intend to honor what they show on their own website and their own advertising. Not to mention the poor service.
