Went here to sharpen my chefs knives which really needed sharpening bad. Drove 30 miles based on previous reviews. Met Clay, who took my 7 knives, and said they would be ready soon. That's awesome. I thought I might have to come back. So I asked where a grocery store was to pick up some items and it was a couple blocks away. Went right to the store, picked up about 5 items and when I was checking out, I got a call telling me they were done. Maybe a half hour or less since I dropped them off. My knives are back to factory sharp and at a good price. Highly recommended. He will sharpen most anything. Lawnmower blades, tools, etc. read more

I had a pretty unique job for Clay's and wasn't sure if they could help. I take a tool in and the guy messes with it for a bit and asks if I can wait 5 minutes. He leaves the store to go home, grab more tools, comes back and fixes the issue. Then he told me it was on him. He didn't charge me for it. Does it really matter how sharp he can make your tools? That's customer service done right! I will be back with more tools as a loyal customer. read more

I had taken my kitchen knives to another large knife shop for sharpening and was a bit disappointed in the function of the blades. I stumbled upon Mr Clay while driving through the neighborhood and went into the store for an "interview." Mr Clay answered all my questions to my satisfaction and I returned with one of my European blades and my Asian chef knives. What a difference!!! Better that new, I would say not to mention a very reasonable charge for the service. I subsequently took in a custom made skinning knife for a new edge. I'm so glad we have this place in Bedford. I love to cook and a good sharp knife just makes cooking easier and enjoyable. We jumped on their awesome Small Business Saturday special and took ALL of our kitchen knives up along with some scissors, a couple of my dad's old knives, my favorite diagonal pliers that were getting dull, and my old Gerber multitool that I quit using because I messed up the blade and I wanted to see if he could fix it. The work was phenomenal. We tested the steak knives on some medium rare rib-eyes and they sliced through much better than before. Tomatoes are no longer being squished. My dad would approve of the edge on his Buck blades, and he was tough to impress. My diagonals are shipping through thick cables much more easily. Best of all, the messed up blade on my Gerber is perfect again and useable! I cannot recommend these gentlemen any more. If it's dull they'll sharpen it. read more

I took several kitchen knives and yard tools to be sharpened. Quick and easy drop off, went to lunch and stopped back by a couple of hours later to pick them up. All my kitchen knives are very sharp and even though I haven't used my yard tools yet I am confident they are ready and sharp. If you want simple, fast, great service this is the place! read more

Brought in 4 knives, 1 of which I'd beaten the heck out of trying to open a coconut. They quoted 30 minutes, they got it done within the 30 minutes. I can't remember the last time my knives cut this cleanly. Definitely a repeat if i need another sharpening or find that another of my favorite blades has gotten a bit dull. read more

I've been looking for a knife sharpening service. I read some reviews from Clays and decided to give Clays a shot. I went in on a weekday about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I dropped off 20+ items for sharpening mostly kitchen knives. I fully expected to leave them for at least a week. Clay took in my order and told me he would have everything done by the next day!!! I was shocked. He took one of my knives and sharpened in on the spot and had the remaining items finished by 10 the next morning. I couldn't be more pleased with his service. Could not be more pleased! I got several pairs of sewing scissors and standard scissors sharpened here, as well as one pair of pinking shears and a pair of small, curved cuticle scissors. Clay's sharpening service made a 20-year-old pair of blunt sewing scissors cut like new again. My pinking shears, which could no longer cut anything, left a perfect, clean edge. He also made a cheapo 7-dollar pair of scissors (with a chip in the blade) cut like a 40 dollar pair. After 3 months of using them to cut tape and open moving boxes they are still VERY sharp. He also tightened my loose scissors and re-oiled all of them. Blown away by the results from this local small business! If you need anything sharpened, this is the place. read more
