These guys have worked with both of my daughters and done a great job. Their fees are reasonable. Both of my daughters could be a little bit difficult to work within in the chair when they were younger and they are super patient with them. I am very fussy about my teeth and have been visiting Clayton Valley Ortho. for over 3 years now. Dr. Ludwig and his team are awesome. I got braces as an adult and I have to sometimes reschedule my visits due to work. This practice is extremely cooperative and understanding. All of my concerns have always been addressed. At the end of visit, Dr. Ludwig gives quick feedback about the progress and future plan. His team is very friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. Long story short: get a bonded retainer! I was not offered one by the ortho that took off my braces ( a lot of years ago but let's not do math k?) and I am not great at wearing my retainers.. that results in my teeth wanting to shift back. Luckily I was referred to Clayton Valley Orthodontics from Dr Callaways office next door and they made me new retainers (remember my old ones don't fit from how much I don't wear them ... don't do this fyi) and then put on a bonded one on top and bottom teeth. THEN I PULLED MY PERFECT TOP RETAINER OFF by accident... messing with it.. again let's not get into exacts here, totally my fault and not anything to do with the work of the office. They were kind enough to make me a new one and make me all good again! Thank you!!!!! read more

Fantastic office. I have been for consults with both of my kids so far several times over the past year. Consult visits are free (even the second visit) which is fantastic seeing as our dentist recommended a visit to check spacing but my kid hadn't really lost enough baby teeth yet to know for sure. The office is easy to get too right off Clayton Road with plenty of parking. I thought it was hard to exit the parking lot as you can only go one way onto Clayton Rd until I realized this last week that there is a second driveway at the other end of the lot onto Washington. Much easier. You check in on a computer which is nice and easy and the waiting room has plenty of seats. The office is clean and all the staff I have met so far are very kind. My kids love them all. They offer orthobucks that the kids can save in order to "purchase" different prizes. There are various ways to earn orthobucks and is a nice incentive if you have a kiddo that is not excited about ortho work. Our appointments always seem to run pretty close to on time and are completed efficiently but not rushed. They also don't seem to push unneeded services. For example, they are not telling me that my oldest needs braces just to make money. In fact, they have told me that he may not need them for several years still (and he's already 11!). I am not used to kids getting braces so young as it wasn't done that way when I was a kid, so I sort of expected to be pushed for my kids to have them early. Not necessarily true here unless your kid actually needs them. So far very happy and we will continue with this office through whenever my kids do actually need braces. read more

I love it here. They make it so much fun for the kids and easy for the adults. Every time somebody gets their braces off they throw a little party and I know it makes the kids feel special. My daughter's teeth are JACKED up and they always have been. They're very thorough about explaining what they're going to do and why, and I really appreciate it. They offer little incentives for the kids to do everything they need to do and I think that's the only reason my 9 year old takes good care of her teeth. Dr. Ludwig and his staff put up with me constantly checking in personally while my daughter is in the chair, and asking all kinds of questions. So far, we are very pleased and have recommended two friends to this office. My daughters open bite is now a beautiful smile. A bit more to do, but it is encouraging to see the progress. Each summer, he is also nice enough to host a fun event for all the patients, for free. Rock climbing, hair braids, bull riding, tattoos, jumpy houses, dunk tanks, ice cream, and music. After college I returned with an interest in Invisalign which they were happy to help me with! I used Invisalign for less than a year and my teeth adjusted perfectly! My daughter got her braces on 2 years ago. Her teeth were terrible! She was being teased by kids at her school and she did not like to smile. Sharon was the first person we met, then Dr. Ludwig. They were great and gave me honest feedback on what it would take to fix my daughter's teeth. I never felt pushed or like I was being sold to. Every visit since then has been a positive one - even when discussing payments. Jill is great and I'm not sure that Karen ever has a grumpy day. We now live in Pleasant Hill, but I don't mind one bit driving out to Clayton to get care from good people that we can trust. My daughter just got her braces off and now will need to continue care with retainers and should she ever need to go back to braces, I'd still drive to Clayton to go to CVO.
