It looks a little sketchy, as the place is most likely held together with 60% duct tape. However, the Korean gentleman/technician was very friendly, and got my car in as soon as I arrived. He hooked up my car, made sure my lady was secure, and all was in good order. Good news, she passed with room to spare (they just don't make long-lasting cars anymore!). That was the LAST thing I needed: my 10-year old Saab breaking down and the company out of business. Fortunately, I found Sovereign online. They were able to book me first thing the next morning. The parking lot was full of cars - always a good sign that the repair shop is busy! But I was surprised to see not only Saabs, but plenty of other European luxury cars: BMW, Audi, Mercedes. Obviously, they can handle anything. From the second I walked in, I felt at ease. Their waiting room is the nicest I've ever seen at an automotive shop; it reminded me of my aunt's den. They even have free snacks. Bob and Cathy are friendly and personable. He quickly identified my car's problem and got me on my way. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they're probably excellent when it comes to Saabs and Subarus, since that seems to be their bread and butter, but I just wish they didn't advertise that they do service ALL makes and models, because I brought them a non-Saab/Subaru to inspect before I bought it, and they gave it clean bill of health. It turns out that an engine mount was bad, and two front wheel bearings ended up warping within the first four months, and because I bought it from an independent dealership, there's plenty of gray area why I had to pay out of pocket, and I'm in the hole over $1,500. As I said, they're good people, and I don't think they're genuinely out to swindle anyone, but if you don't have a Saab or a Subaru, you might want to go elsewhere.

If you're having a problem with a check engine light he'll consult with you about what is most likely causing your car to fail the emissions test. He is very accommodating and really cares about your car passing the GA emissions test. If you have a check engine light on don't wait until the last minute. Take your car to Alex a couple of months before your car's next registration is due. You'll be glad you did. I pulled up to the entrance to the service bay, and could see the young attendant through the office window, looking down for a full minute before he finally glanced up and noticed me - no big deal, he came out and conducted the emissions test and I was on my way. This morning I took my second car there at 8:15, again on my way to work. Once again I pulled up to the entrance the service bay and waited while I watched the same young attendant looking down. This time, after 2 full minutes of waiting for him to look up, I gave my car horn a dump to get his attention (there's no hose or bell to otherwise alert the attendant). He was clearly startled as he looked up, but he returned to looking down for another 10-15 seconds, slowly rose to his feet, and stood there while he tapped on the phone keyboard - I suspect to demonstrate to me that he moves at his own pace, not mine. When he exited the office, he slammed the door so hard it shook the office structure. He moved the traffic cone and motioned me to pull into the bay, clearly irritated, squinting and blinking as though I woke him up from the deepest, hardest sleep. I pulled into the bay and put the car in park as instructed. When I rolled the window down, I asked him if he was mad because I honked to get his attention. He angrily replied, "Yea. I don't like people honking at me." At hat point, I decided to leave and told him so, as I put the car in drive. He quickly responded, "Get out of here [followed by a nice F-bomb]!" which I did, determined that I will never give them my business again.

The Dealer wanted 1,500 and Good Year wanted $1,200. I checked a couple of auto part stores and I could buy a catalytic converter for $120. I didn't understand why they were charging so much at the national repair chains. My research said it was a simple install job that would take less than an hour. I found Acapulco's Mufflers & Auto on they web and they said I could bring my own part and they would install it for $50. They also offered to sell me the part and install it for $180. That the option I took. They had me in and out in forty minutes and did a great job.

The muffler I bought from there has not given me any problems so far. The second time I went there was to get my alternator replaced. I had bought the alternator from Auto Zone and they replaced it for 1/3 the repair price that Pep Boys would have charged. They got the repair done in about an hour and it's great. I highly recommend this place, the service is great and the staff is amazing. The only problem that one may have is that the staff does not speak English that well, but I haven't had any other problems.
