We have used Clean and Cute Grooming in Warrenville for many years. Traci, the owner is so caring and very good at what she does! She would always treat our very old dog with the utmost care. When he developed skin sensitivites she was careful to use scent free gentle product on him. Although I personally reminded her each time, understanding that she has a busy practice and cannot be expected to recall every dog, she had kept careful notes on our Frosty and assured me she remembered our instructions. Took my dog here and everything was perfect. I have a very high maintenance dog that needs extra care for her tail and folds in her face (english bulldog) if couldn't tell. The groomers were very nice and paid very close attention to my dogs sensitive areas. They were also very helpful with recommending special products that may help with skin conditions for my dog. I was very surprised with how reasonable the prices were. I will definitely be going back to this place. Also, the grooming stations are in plain sight so you can see what's going on. I picked her over petco/pet smart because she called the vet for the rabies vaccine info FOR me ,- I'm an insanely busy mother with 3 kids and I am in school so that was so appreciated it's not even funny. She fit me and my dog in for a much needed nail trim on a Saturday when she was obviously busy. My corgi can be a pain in the ass, (a loveable one but a pain in the ass none the less) and she was careful with him and saw from how he moved that he couldn't climb up on the table himself (arthritis)- so she lifted his fat butt up on the table. The price was affordable. And he's' going back in a few weeks for a bath and "oh my god do corgis shed blowout" You can see not only the grooming tables where the dogs are bathed from the front as well. When I walked in, her assistant was bathing a German Shepherd who looked completely unenthused about being shampooed. But then again, what dog enjoys a bath ?none that I know ha ha. The person who is upset about the dog bleeding- what happens with dogs when their nails get long, is the quick moves up further up the nail - so you can't' clip them as short as you'd like. The powder to stop the bleeding is called styptic powder. So if the nails are long, it IS something that can happen especially if the dog is wiggly, nervous or reticent about being groomed (and why I have a professional do my dogs nails as he's the aforementioned pain in the butt about it, and woe upon Me if I go too short- I've found groomers do a better job than I ). Hence why it's important to keep them clipped as short as you can as often as you can (I'm guilty of letting a longtime go between myself- this is how I know this! ). Yes the place was a bit messy but I chalked that up to the fact that it was right before closing on a Saturday, and she had a "help wanted" sign up- indicating that she's short staffed. It happens- especially in small businesses- I think a lot of people these days are used to places like petco and pet smart that are corporately run. She obviously knows what she's doing and from the little I talked with her- she's been doing this for about 20 years. read more

Our Wheatens have gotten groomed here twice now and we love their hair cuts. We went to a vet/groomer in naperville and were extremely concerned when we got them back with small cuts and burned feet. Plus one of our dogs has high anxiety that I felt was completely ignored at our previous groomer. Clean and Cute took the time to welcome us in and erase all worries we had. The owner takes the time to talk to you personally about what you want in terms of the haircut and is always problem solving with our high anxiety dog. Our pups always come back adorable, and I feel like they never rush through a haircut. It takes a lot for my husband and I to trust a groomer after our past experience, but Clean and Cute won our hearts after the first appointment. Took our Golden Doodle puppy in today. This was her second grooming. She was at the point where her baby fur needed to be cut. After listening to the owner's long list of possible procedures that might work and might not, she consulted with the actual groomer. The groomer said that she knows what to do and that she tested the coat with her comb. She told us and the owner that it was fine and that it would not be a problem. All the while, the owner was screaming at a barking dog. Actually louder than the dog. We were very hesitant in leaving our dogs there. But, we didn't want to "stiff" her and not leave them. So, we took the chance. What a mistake. The one dog, a Golden Retriever was just ok but the puppy was absolutely "butchered". The face and tail were the length as a typical Golden Doodle but the rest of the body was shaved to the skin! At first she looked like a poodle but after a closer look, she looked worse than that. Her cut was completely uneven, one eye has hair over it and the other eye was cut clean around it. The tail has about different lengths! If you don't know how to groom a certain breed, then say so. Don't tell people you know what to do then butcher the dog! Lastly, as I arrived to pick up the dogs, before getting to the door, I could hear someone screaming at the dogs to shut up as she did when we dropped off the dogs. As shaken as both my dogs were after picking them up, it is reasonable to believe they screamed the entire time! And yes, as other posters said the place is filthy! I will never return to this place again. I am sure the owner will reply with something nasty to say, That is exactly her personality! read more

DON'T BRING PUPPIES HERE. If I could rate it less than one star I would. It pained me to even give them one star. I always opt to bring my business to small local businesses when I'm able. I had taken my puppy for his first "puppy cut" to petsmart because we had their puppy coupon book, and they did a wonderful job. The girl said he whined a little bit but other than that was well behaved. After that I wanted to find a small grooming salon to bring him to from that point on to support local small business rather than a big chain. I did my research and found clean and cute. I called to make an appointment and the owner asked me my puppies name and I told her Stout to which she responds "Sorry but I like the name Scout better." ..... okay..... I thought that was odd but I brushed it off and brought him in. Overall he looked fine, he was a little choppy but he's a puppy and I figured he was probably a little squirmy. She told me he didn't like when she groomed his private areas but other than that he did well. I forgot to bring his treats and she did tell me she gave him a tiny piece of pizza as an incentive..... we don't feed him people food at all so I didn't like that but once again just brushed it off because I had forgotten the treats. A month and a half later I brought him in to go shorter with his hair. He's 5 months old at this point. 30 minutes after I dropped him off I received an odd phone call from her asking if he had been neutered, which he had not, because she was concerned he squealed when she sprayed "his groin"..... I'm not a groomer but I find it hard to believe it's uncommon for a puppy to not like being sprayed in their privates?? Besides her notes from last time said she had issues when grooming his privates? So a couple hours later I go to pick him up and she tells me she can't groom him again because he's too aggressive and it's unsafe. This is a puppy that goes to doggy day care and the dog park at least 4 times a week and has NEVER been aggressive towards a single dog or person. How after only a month and a half after the first time she groomed him is there such a drastic change in behavior that she refuses to groom him ever again? (Not that I wanted to bring him back there) She had me in tears leaving there, asking all about where we take him for puppy classes and telling me we needed to take him to a trainer for his behavior issues. We've never had a single behavior issue with him before?! He follows all our commands and is overly sweet and friendly to everyone. She also charged me more than our original agreement but I just wanted to get my dog and leave so I paid it. On top of that his hair is a mess! So choppy and uneven, so I'm going to have to take him to a different groomer to get him fixed! read more

I decided it was about time to get my Beagle's nails trimmed professionally. I have always done them or I've had the vet do it if we were visiting for his annual shots. So my boy has never been to a groomer before. My mom and dad bring their Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix here and they referred me. Since I just moved back to the area I knew where this place was located. I think the building used to be a funeral home but it's bright and now definitely looks like a groomer business. I called this morning to try and get my dog in for a nail trim and bath and they were able to take me within 2 hours of my call. I dropped him off and picked him up and he is squeaky clean and his nails are nice and short. I knew he would be scared but she said he did really well and tolerated the dryers fine. I was happy to hear that because no one wants their pets stressed out. Since he did pretty well I will bring him back in a few months for another visit. The place had parking in the back of the building since it's on a corner. There was the owner (I'm assuming she was the owner) and she had two groomers working as well. They seemed busy to me. Like other Yelp reviews I noticed the floors were a bit old and dirty looking and the counters were all cluttered. But I guess that doesn't really bother me. As long as my pup was treated well and they did their job I'm happy. I will be back. read more

And it's really not a big deal, they bleed some, you put some quick-stop on there, and it's all better! I take both my Springer Spaniels to Clean and Cute for hair cuts and baths every three months. They do a great job and are always very friendly. One of my dogs is very submissive and scared around new people, new things, and new sounds. They have been very patient with her and never complain. NEVER would I bring my pet here! My granddaughter and I went look at this groomers before bringing our dog here for grooming. We have been going to PetSmart for awhile and wanted to find somewhere more personalized and where he wouldn't be sitting in a cage waiting for care. So, we read the reviews and had really high hopes for this place. First, the sign on the door said "Stop. Must wear face mask and only one person in lobby at a time. I didn't want to leave my grand daughter outside so I sent her in ahead of me. She came back out with a card in her hand and said " she said you had to call her. My grand daughter asked her if my Grandma and I could look around and find a new place to bring our dog. She said to MY GRAND DAUGHTER.."huge sigh. Well, I have to much phone calls right now, you need to call us." She had a business card in her hand. I then opened the door and said "Could I at least ask a question. The woman who was sitting at the desk said " well you could but I have all these phones that are ringing." She told me to "take a card and call." I said I just wanted to "see how many dogs they take at one time." The woman said "Well we aren't taking any new clients at this time!" How horribly rude. Sorry this woman was having a bad day, but I will never bring my dog to a rude, harried groomer! And especially rude to a ten year old girl. I hate this. I've never written a one star review. I held out hoping I'd never find a business deserving of one. Sigh. So my dogs nails grow like weeds and amidst the insanity of moving, I realized they'd grown too long. So I started combing yelp reviews to find a groomer who could do a quick nail trim till I had time for a full grooming. I'd found a few places that looked promising, but none that were open on a Monday. Then I finally came across this place - just one yelp review, but 5 stars! And it was open! And nearby! That was about all the prerequisite I had. I called to ask if I could run my pup in after work, an she graciously agreed despite needing to go pick up her daughter, eventually. She asked for my vet's phone number so she could verify that we were up to date on shots, which I happily provided. I ran home from work, got my dog, and drove to her place. The store is seemingly a converted house, or shed, or shack. Or something. I parked and walked in to a complete disaster. There was a single barking dog in a pen in the middle of the room. The rest of the area had sort of grooming stations that were so messy and disheveled that they were nearly indistinguishable. Her counters were cluttered and she - I mean this as nicely as possible - also looked a mess. I wanted to turn and run out, but she'd kept the store open for me and I was feeling guilty. She was extraordinarily kind and apologized for the mess profusely, explaining that she'd left her assistant there all day alone and it had been too much for her to handle. Here's the unfortunate truth: I don't want to know, and it doesn't make it ok. She could not get my dog under control, I think because he was so scared of her. He can be difficult, don't get me wrong - but he also isn't a total jerk unless necessary. I had to hold my own dog while she clipped his nails. And then she - wait for it - clipped a nail too short. As my dogs nail started bleeding and I now visibly looked angry, she ran to get some kind of powder to stop the bleeding. My dog would not hold still a moment longer after THAT, and I took him away in my arms. She still charged me full price and explained that that sometimes "can happen!" I don't even remember how much the nail trim cost but I can assure you it was too much. She also gave me an incredibly hard sale about coming back soon, explaining all of the services she provides, how this is her own business that she runs, how she's a single mother, and on and on. I paid and gritted my teeth through her spiel, then got the hell out of there, never to return. Look I know mistakes can happen and everyone has bad days, but there is no excuse for having a filthy facility, disheveled countertops, and explaining the awful details of your business' shortcomings (while bashing your staff) to a customer. Holding my own dog had already made me angry, but when she made his nail bleed anyway, I was livid. LIVID. Bring your dog here at your own risk. As for me, it's back to Logan Pets Grooming in Logan Square. A 45 minute drive is well worth my confidence in the safety of my babes. read more

We had taken our 130 lb golden retriever to Petco for 8 years until they refused to take him because he had problems standing on 3 legs during cleaning. This was not a problem here. I also learned that Petco can't handle many other things that can be done here. My dog looked better than he has ever looked after grooming. They got his ear knots out that Petco refused, they dried him fully, his brush out made him look amazing in tandem with the deshedding. I would recommend anyone to come here over any other place I've seen. Great job! read more

The prices haven't gone up, when you walk in, you can see that they're working hard, they do their best to accommodate you even on short notice, and my dog is getting used to being at the groomer's without being overly stressed. I have used Clean & Cute about a half dozen times and was fairly happy until my last visit. I have a seven year old Llaso-poo. His tail had been trimmed from time to time, but it had hair about 7 inches long. During my last visit to Clean and Cute they decided to shave the tail without consulting me! Although they refunded my money, it will still take a couple of years for the hair on his tail to grow back to the length it was. Having his tail hair significantly trimmed has resulted in some unusual behavior. It seems that no matter how thorough instructions you leave with Clean & Cute, you may not receive the cut you are expecting. read more

Most recently the person was down right rude over the phone.
