Because it's a smaller facility, OBKC's staff has more time to devote to each individual dog, which made me feel much more confident in leaving them there, especially with my older pup's health issues. The consistent routine each day, individual playtimes with staff, and constant access to clean, climate-controlled space and fresh water clearly kept my girls happy during their stay! You also have an option to spoil your pup with little frozen treats, and proceeds go to local charities. I received updates (with beautiful photos!) whenever I asked, and they took extra precautions to keep my older dog safe and comfortable. The pricing is very reasonable compared to other facilities, especially considering the personalized care. They came back to me clean and happy. You can see how much they love dogs. Brian and Colleen (owners) were very thoughtful in creating the facilities (3 buildings because they've grown so much) and in training their staff. You can even see pictures of your dog on Doggie Depot's Facebook or Instagram. Dogs are assigned to one of three buildings based on dog size and temperament. Dogs get a one-hour break during the day to rest and eat. For boarding, you drop off your dog in the morning so that s/he is tired and ready for bed (standard and suites available). The rates are very reasonable, and if you purchase a package of 10, you get a discount. It's so much better than having a dog walker because your pup is happy, socialized and gets tons of exercise.

I have a very special little dog who…read moreneeds a lot of training and attention to help overcome her behavioral challenges and they not only understood what to do immediately, we've been making steady progress since we first met everyone. The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

This is my new "go to" kennel. On short notice, I needed to leave for a week and CLK was able to get me in. I was able to do a walk through the facility prior to leaving Amber. Since this was Amber's first overnight, I was nervous. I don't like "first time stays" to be a week. I would rather have a single night "starter" but I didn't have time. The staff was very receptive to Amber's arrival and most importantly, they could wonderful care of Amber. She had a spacious kennel and free time that was not group play, but one-on-one with a staffer. Sweet! Per my request, I was sent an occasional photo of Amber. Yes, I am that over protect dog Mom. I am somewhat hesitant to share this hidden gem, but I have to admit I have shared this location with a couple of my dog friends. This is a winner!
