Ever since I started bringing my dog to Sudzy Puppy in October I have had a great experience. The groomer (can't recall her name) was great. However I brought my dog in on Wednesday 5/21 to be groomed with another groomer and literally wasted $80! I have never seen such a poor job of grooming. I believe she basically gave him a bath, trimmed some of his nails and combed him out. No trimming of the hair was done, his belly and anal area weren't trimmed down, ears were a mess and I asked that his face be done short and it looked like nothing was done. Bottom line is I had to do my own trimming afterwards and will never come back to Sudzy Puppy and have the same groomer again! Owners - a groomer can make your business. The one on 5/21 will only hurt your business unless she is better trained. Sorry to be so harsh, but I don't like spending $80 for literally nothing. read more

It's convenient to get text notices that my pet is ready to be picked up and I can also get text receipts. Clean Puppy When chosing a place for your puppy you may have a lot of factors to consider. If you're like me and your puppy is family, you want the best place for them. That said I'm going to give you all the factors I considered here. I'll start by saying the grooming was really good, and they did a great job. If I was only basing my review on that, I'd give 5 stars. What you don't know or see before coming here are some factors you may not have thought of, and may not be important to some people. The location of Sudsy Puppy gives me the most trouble. They are located on Ogden Ave in a busy area. The front of the building is literally only about 20-25 feet from the street. When you park your car you are steps away from the busy road. I have small dogs and I am scared about that small area and anything that could happen. It's not their fault, but that is a concern of mine. Being in that busy area, there's no grass around the building. Grooming can take up to 3 hours so your dog is going to need to potty right before and right after grooming. I found a patch of grass much further behind the building but you park in front of the building. Those may be small things but I have to think about the safety of my dogs. read more

I was given glowing remarks about Sudzy Puppy and after 3 visits, I can attest to the positive reviews. They do a great job. And they are very professional to deal with. But more importantly, I'm not having to drag my pup in, so I know he's content enough. While his grooming has increased to $50 (vs the previous $40), I appreciate that with more staff members, I can get him an appt quickly. Even same-day sometimes. It's on busy Ogden Ave in an old strip that's easy to miss and the parking is abysmal. Last time, I had to park a few businesses down in front of the Divorce Store, which gave my child quite a fright. read more

So I tried to explained this and they argued with me, then some guy came out and started giving me attitude about the situation, trying to continue an argument, while 110$ was sitting on their desk that I was literally paying them. And then they lied saying my dog was 40 lbs but when I weighed him twice on the way out, he was 34. Then the huge girl came out telling me to leave. All while I had my toddler with me. Our 12-year old dog, Maggie, has been to a dozen groomers over the years and Sudzy Puppy is easily one of the best. Clearly, they made her look great. But here are some of the finer points that made them excellent. Her paws were meticulously groomed and cleaned so that she barely slips around on our wood floors. Her feet look great. They also pay special attention to the fur/hair around her "private" areas to maintain hygiene. Her face and ears are especially well done; they make her look like a stuffed animal! This place is like having the Goth kids from South Park groom your animals. They're a fun brunch of kids. I use their dog self wash and occasionally bring my cat for grooming at the same time. One time the owner;s moms let me use the back tub to wash the dog when they were crowded at Xmas.Nce touch. There are some really aweful self groom places around. Unhappy with the pricing and service of this groomer. I took my 35 pound short-haired dog in to get a bath and his nails clipped. They charged me $50 plus tip for a bath and nail clipping! I wouldn't have been so upset with the price if they did a great job, but when I picked my dog up, he was still wet from the bath and smelled worse than when I brought him in. He didn't look or smell clean at all. His nails were barely trimmed and were cracked. It was probably the most pointless $60 I've ever spend. read more

The wait time is over a month. I recently caught Covid and forgot about my dogs grooming appointment I contacted them immediately informing them of the situation. This was my first time missing a grooming appointment and was told I could no longer take my dog there. I would never refer anyone to this establishment and will let others in the neighborhood know as well. They do not care about the customers. The simplest way to describe this way is a cute one-stop-shop pet grooming boutique! Whether you want to bathe your dog yourself or drop the pooch off for some extra TLC from the friendly staff, this place will get the job done for a good price. I personally like giving my dog a bath there, it's a fun experience with my pet and also puts the little guy at ease a bit! Plus it's cheaper :) There are a few shampoos to pick from based on scent or coat type, which helps if your dog has sensitive skin or if you just don't want the little dude or gal smelling like a flower that day. They have special blow dryers and brushes as well. So you'll be completely set! I also love that I can get this place messy with wet dog fur, instead of my home...that makes it alllll worth the cost! There were only two tubs when I went though, so there's a possibility you'll have to wait. Just a fore warning! There is a girl with short hair and glasses (although it'll been awhile, so maybe she doesn't have short hair anymore...or maybe she got Lasik...I dunno), and she is the sweetest person ever. She loves every animal that walks through that door and will baby talk the bejeezus out of them. My dog was terrified to get his nails clipped there, and she was more than patient with him by petting him and talking to him in a soothing voice for a bit before going to town on his nails. She's great. I wish I could give her 5 stars. All in all, there's no reason to not love this place. I was a first time customer I went in hoping for good service from what I have read here on yelp and I got just that! The staff is very friendly and nice. They called me 15 minutes before my puppy was done which is more than I can say about other groomers. When I picked up my morkie she was beautiful. The cut was great she had a cute bow of feathers in her hair and she smelled so clean. However her nails were super sharp. When calling to ask if they could fix her nails I was told I could get a discount. When going in to get her nails fixed I was told that the groomer had made a mistake and not cut them before. They immediately owned up to their mistake fixed it apologized and did not make me pay. I will defiantly be a returning customer even though they made a mistake they owned up to it were nice friendly and apologized and fixed it. I would recommend this place to others! When I spoke to the groomer she was so nice & I could tell she was an animal lover! I told her how I wanted his hair cut and she did exactly what we spoke about! We took our Corgi there to get groomed and were hopeful a good bath and brushing would help with the shedding he has had since winter ended. He looks great and smells good. His booty is very fluffy from the washing. Unfortunately he is still shedding so next time we might have to go the extra mile and get the deshedding wash. I found Sudzy Puppy and Shelly a few years back after my mini golden doodle Zoey had a horrible grooming experience (at another groomer in Elmhurst). She had a horrible rash on her belly that required steroids and cream to clear it up. Shelly was able to determine that Zoey was most likely allergic to or had a sensitivity to the clipper oil and promised me that she wouldn't have an experience like that again. Hesitantly I brought Zoey in when she was due for her next hair cut. Shelly pulled out Zoey's card and showed me all the notes she had written when I first spoke with her. Zoey came back to me that first visit with no irritation and looking as cute as ever. We haven't looked back - Shelly sees Zoey ever 5-6 weeks and we wouldn't take her anywhere else. ANIMAL CRUELTY!! Very disappointing in our grooming services. While consulting with the groomer at drop off. She was snarky and rude. I have a Great Prynese with long thick hair. She definitely took the lazy way out and shaved him from head to to because she didn't want to spend the time and energy. He looks like a sheared sheep. I told her the most important thing is I don't want him shaved especially around his back-end because he get so itchy and irritated. I was shocked when I went to pick him up. They did the exact opposite of what we talked about. They shaved his entire body and his back-end even shorter to the skin. I have had him to many groomers and no one has ever done this to him. Even when we resuced him he was matted and when we got him back from another groomer he was beautiful!! Animal cruelty! It's been 6 days and my dog has been miserable ever since. He can't even sit still to eat he's so miserable. We have to scratch him so he can calm down and eat or drink. He hides and wines all day and night. I recently brought my maltese to Sudzy Puppy and they did an amazing job with my dog's haircut. I've been to many places around Bartlett and Naperville, and finally we found a place that has well trained pet groomers who know what they are doing. My husband and I are very particular with the kind of haircut our dog gets, as it can make or break it's cuteness. Sudzy Puppy definitely did a great job maintaining that. They were very accommodating. I called and schedule an appointment a day before. They are very professional and friendly. Rocky (Our Maltese Dog) felt very comfortable with them and thats a surprise as he is always shivering, shaking and constantly barking. That was definitely not the case this time around. See below for specifics on this place which I broke down in category. 1. Place/Ambience: Small little shop down Ogden Rd, however, very neat and clean. 2. Staff: Can't get any better with friendliness, kindness, and gentleness with the pets especially. 3. Price: VERY, VERY Reasonable. $45 is starting for small dogs (my maltese is 6lbs). This includes hair cut, teeth brushing, nail trim and buff, and release of external anal glands. If your pet has a lot of nat, they do up charge, but that is reasonable. 4. Accommodation: Flexible and prompt. 5. Professional/Experience: The groomers definitely listen to what you are looking for and how you want the haircut to be. If you are unsure, the groomer who will be doing the haircut will suggest his/her opinion. They definitely know what they are doing. Sudzy Puppy rocks! I took Hogan, my 6 month puppy here last week. His nails were getting out of control. Sudzy Puppy took us, kind of last minute, and did a wonderful job, giving him a bath, brush-out, and nail trim. I appreciate the amount of time and care given to my dog, he was there for over two hours. When I came to pick him up, my dog was so happy and calm for the rest of the day. Let me start off by saying that our family were very happy customers as of March of 2012 and came to the Sudzy Puppy based on the Yelp reviews posted. There were a pair there (Heather specifically) who were just wonderful to our dog and now we're wondering if they are even there anymore. We made an appointment to have our dog groomed and were told it'd take 3 hours after dropping him off. At 3 hours, we called and were told it'd be another hour. Fine, we thought. Showed up after dropping him off 4 hours more and were told it'd still be another 5-10 minutes. A little annoying that it's taken over 4 hours after having an appointment, but what would another few minutes hurt? As we are sitting there waiting, we could hear the groomer making comments to other people, saying "he is actually cute now that I trimmed his face" and making comments about us "waiting too long" to be trimmed. While grooming, our dog was being difficult and was becoming hard to trim in what felt like a rush to finish him despite him already been there for four+ hours. It had us wondering if our dog was sitting in a cage for 3 hours+ waiting to be groomed. Regardless, there was no such explanation - just comments from the other room and overall lacking positive customer service experience. We're hopeful that the original staff will be back but likely won't be in a rush to use their services again, which is very sad as we were a very happy customer prior. read more
