Came in b/c of Yelp reviews; paid for smog check and he told me he couldn't complete it because the engine had been reset during the oil change I had done just prior so I had to drive it around for an hour and come back and he'd finish it. That I want to leave a glowing review of a smog test center is itself noteworthy. The normal smog test is something you hope to get done as quickly and cheaply as possible. I had no idea what the Star check entailed. I rolled in at 9:10 and Ebrahim promised to have me out by 9:30. He urged me to take a seat, relax and handed me a bottle of cold water. At 9:30 I was paid, passed, certified and ready to go. Ebrahim asked if I was AAA and then gave me the address of the closest office a mile away on Wilshire that I didn't even know existed. Ebrahim is one of the rudest service providers I have ever encountered. He plunged my car in and was about to begin the smog test, then asked me if I had cash, when I said I want to pay with a credit card, he unplugged the cable from my car and said if I wa t to pay with credit he has to charge a $5 fee. I told him it was illegal for him to do that, he got upset and told me to fuck off! Ebrahim is simply the best! Come to his STAR Smog station if you want quick and reliable service by someone who is trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable about cars. Ebrahim is the whole reason I returned to the SMOG Star Station, this time for my boyfriend's car. These smog stations are a dime a dozen in LA and most are always trying to con you--not Ebrahim. He is the nicest, most sincere man. Ebrahim is exceptional in every way. His station is open on Sundays and his sunny disposition is felt immediately when you arrive. He offered us water to drink and offered us a place to sit and man is he fast. He even helped us fill out windshield wiper fluid and EXPLAINED to us how the pieces of the car work, again without the slightest Agenda or expectation for anything in return. At the end upon completing the charges he actually walked us through the taxes and fees and what they meant (i.e. DMV tax for sending the sticker, etc). I've never encountered someone going the extra mile like this and I will keep coming back to Clean cloud Smog for Ebrahim. read more

This is my favorite and only spot to smog my truck. Gentleman who operates the shop was so nice, pleasant, and HONEST it's refreshing to encounter an experience like this. I have a 96 Bronco that needs to get on a Dynamometer, and he made sure I had all the right ducks in a row prior to coming in to ensure a successful pass. I had the best experience at clouds smog station this morning. After so much hassle trying to smog my car in California and changing my catalytic converter twice, it was finally good to pass the smog test. Ebrahim's service was honest and he made sure I had my paper work, and throughly educated me on the California smog system (I moved from northern Virginia) . He proceeded to take the corrosion off my battery, just because he noticed it. He was extremely kind. As glad as I am that I don't have to smog my car once every 2 days... This guys is a temperamental jerk. He quoted me $65 which is high. Its convenient tho, on the way to my office. Then I give him a credit card and he says hes charging me more. I said "Nooo, you quoted me $65" at which point he started demanding cash and I said"I gave you a card because thats what I have" Then he started praising the lord "Tanks god" type of BS and asks my name and I say its Ari and he says "is that a Jew name?" and I say yes are you jewish and he says "no thank god" Now I dont really give too much of a shit about religious non sense but this guys is a real short tempered dick. Absolutely Wonderful!!!! First, I want to start by saying I've never wrote a single yelp post, but this experience was so great that I finally felt compelled to do so...I went early Sunday morning (yes he was open on Sunday) to get my car smogged. Upon arrival I was greeted with the warmest and kindest smile from Ebrahim (the owner). The entire experience was wonderful. He was very thorough, kind and quick. I was literally in and out within 15 min. It probably would have been shorter if I wasn't having such a great conversation. I wish more businesses were as comforting and as pleasurable as this one. EXPENSIVE BOTTLE OF WATER!! I was referred to Clean Cloud Smog, a STAR station, by another Smog check station who was not a STAR station. Ebrahim, the technician, quickly gave me a bottle of water, and did an initial look at the engine exhaust system of my 1998 car. He then said that he would do the Smog check for $118 (considerably higher than what I paid two years ago at another station ($50) . Since my car was already positioned in the car bay I went ahead with the test. I flunked the 15 mph test but passed the 25 mph test. After I failed the test, Ebrahim told me that he would charge me for a retest!! Everywhere else does a retest for free. His charge was negotiated down to $60, as a favor!! I went to another STAR station who said he would charge only $60 for the test, and the retest, if any, would be free. He did the test and I passed by a wide margin. Obviously I wish I went there first. Clean Cloud Smog is a rip-off station. For double the price of another STAR station, you get a bottle of water and a "FAIL" grade, with no free retest. read more
