Jack was so helpful! Initially my car didn't pass smog check so he sat with me and explained what was going on and what needed to change in order for it to pass. He only charged me for one test - $50 when the initial smog check failed, and then the remaining $10 when the car was able to pass. My 2008 Hyundai definitely had some issues going on under her hood, but I needed the smog check to complete this year's registration. It was so convenient because Jack was able to identify that the error code from my check engine light was due to a leak in the EVAP system, and there was a mechanic shop next door that was able to perform a smoke test for me (only $120) to efficiently find the location of the leak and get the error code solved. My experience with a smog check was, unfortunately, not positive. I took my car to this station because it's convenient. After my first visit, when told my car failed, I learned each re-check would cost an additional $50 -- even if I didn't pass. The manager at the station told me the smog check guys were independent contractors and could double or triple charge me with impunity. Seemed grossly unfair to me, so I took my car to my regular mechanic in North Hollywood. My suggestion would be to purchase a code reader in advance, if you think you might have issues with the smog check. Much cheaper and would help you to your own diagnosis. read more

Very friendly, very quick. Drove in w/out an appt. at about 8:50 a.m. on a Thursday. They had one car in there and I was next. I ran across the street to Starbucks and when I got back they were pulling my car out. Done in 10 - 15 minutes. Cost me $60. It's convenient to my home, and so easy, I'll definitely use them again. There's also a mechanic next door. They're in the Mobil station, plenty of room to pull in and park. read more
