I wish I had taken photos of our lunch, but I totally forgot. I'll try to describe them for you. We have been to Clean Juice Greystone a few times and their food never disappoints. They are located at the end of the Publix shopping center, on the street right behind Walk-Ons and the extreme air sports place on Highway 119. My husband has the app so that he can get rewards from his purchases. After running several errands and exploring a new neighborhood, we decided to grab lunch from here before heading home. My husband got a BBQ wrap (that has grilled chicken, cheese, tomato, spinach, and barbecue sauce) and a strawberry cheesecake smoothie. I got a Sweet and Savory wrap (with grilled chicken, cheese, spinach, dates, and walnuts with some type of vinaigrette) and a Red cold-pressed juice. It cost us a LOT (over $50), but believe me, it was worth the cost. The meals were ready in 20 minutes - close to the time that we arrived. My husband ran in and grabbed our food and drinks from the nice young lady at the counter. We took it home and dug right in. My husband said his BBQ wrap was very flavorful and his smoothie tasted exactly like a strawberry cheesecake with healthier ingredients, but he was stuck on how much it was and how little the wrap was. He did say the food was worth it for the flavor. My wrap was delicious and different from anything I have had before. The dates and the walnuts inside my wrap added a true uniqueness to my palate that was insanely good. The cold pressed juice was different. I am not a fan of beets, and this Red juice contained beets for color and flavor. I felt the health for sure, but may go with another color juice next time. Definitely download the app so you can stack points for the rewards, and give this place a try if you are looking to eat and drink clean. read more

I recently moved to Birmingham from New York City. While I was excited to find this place, I'm very disappointed in the level of customer service I received on a recent delivery order via Uber Eats. The immune shots are listed as having three ingredients: lemon, ginger and carrot. When I got the shots, they had pineapple in them too. I'm highly allergic to pineapples so I called right away. The manager persist to speak through the person working the counter who has NO idea what to do. And the manager seems uninterested in my health concern or providing a refund. Much less changing how the product is listed to keep this from happening to anyone else. I've followed up now three times and have been told the manager would call me that day. Still...nothing. I would not recommend this place just off good faith and wanting my money to go to places where people are not deceptive. I'll be juicing at home. read more

Very disappointed to learn today that Clean Juice does not produce their cold-pressed juices in-house anymore. I was told by an employee that they are shipped from California now and they use water pressure to give the juice a longer shelf life? I bought a "RED" juice on Oct 23, 2022 that has an expiration date of December 18, 2022!!! Anyone who is familiar with juicing knows that cold-pressed juice only lasts less than 72 hours if refrigerated. I won't be buying their cold-pressed juices anymore and I feel they are misleading their customers. read more

As an update the owner commented back on my Google review and said they tried to email me already (not true) Then the manager emailed me that day and said they had been busy which is why they hadn't gotten back to me. They offered me a free item off my next visit. I said I would like a refund for my toast and not a coupon and I never heard back. It took a review for them to contact me the first time and the second time it's been over a month and the manager hasn't responded. I was disappointed all around with how little they cared about my experience and the communication. I always try to give places the benefit of the doubt but this was all around a bad experience and the lack of communication just reinforces I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Overall, 3 stars. High marks for freshness and flavor. Low marks for prices and really slow speed of service. My in-depth review below, but this hits the major talking points. Let's start with the good: their products. I've never received anything shy of delicious from here. Always fresh, always high quality, and always tasty. They rotate their menu with the seasons and while occasionally I'm disappointed to see something drop off, it's always replaced with something as good or better. Another high point is the friendliness of the staff. They always greet you with a smile and have a kind demeanor. Also positive is the cleanliness. It's not perfect, but it's better than a lot places I've been. Nothing irks me more than disgusting countertops for customers when a staff isn't busy. Lastly, and it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but we're in the south and I appreciate it - I like their prayer corner near the pick-up area. It builds a sense of community and it sets a good tone IMO. On to the not so good: the value. The bowl I got came out to $14.05 after tax and before tip. It's about the size of a bowl of soup, but it's much smaller than other açaí bowls I've had, many of which were also cheaper. Their juices are not huge either. I'm not sure how much control they have over setting their own prices since it's a franchise, but if I had to set the price point of what feels appropriate, my guess is that they priced everything there and then marked up the same amount as the franchise fee % that they need to kick up to corporate. It feels 15-20% overpriced for everything. I'll admit, I wouldn't mind the prices nearly as much if I didn't have to routinely wait 20+ minutes for my order when the shop doesn't feel particularly busy. I made an order over the app today at 12:08. I got to Tatersall 3 minutes before my order said it should be ready and decided to pop into Publix first. I did all my shopping and it was still being prepared after I had dropped off all my groceries in my car. It took 30 minutes for a single bowl to be prepared. Something about that just doesn't sit well with me. There were two other patrons in the store. They had at least two people working that I could see out front and this seems to be about average in my experience. I'll keep my summary short since I started off with one. I'll continue to come back here for now. It's close and it hits the spot. I can't see myself ever becoming a regular due to the price and how slow the service is. If you want a clean, fresh snack and don't mind a wait or the price, this is the place. I can't call anything you'd get here a meal replacement. The serving sizes are just too small. read more

Visited the Greystone location at 4:00pm on March 21, 2021. They were very short staffed and I had a 27min wait (did in store order), but my problem was her grabbing my empty bowl and placing her fingers in the bowl (with no gloves). This happened over and over as she was checking people out and moving over cups, and bowls on the counter. Better training of the employees or them following proper procedure would help. read more

I think when you live in this area, it's hard to enjoy any açaí bowl as much as we love our City Bowls. So if we're comparing to them, Clean Juice misses the mark, but I'm still happy to have a clean/healthy option closer to this side of town. They're still relatively new and had to shut down a little while due to COVID, so we need to give them a break, as the workers haven't had much time to really get their groove down. Food is great, but throughout the whole pandemic, they would regularly switch between wearing masks and not wearing them (even during the mandate). As soon as the state mandate ended they stopped wearing them once again. Interesting that a place that focuses on health and wellness will not follow simple safety procedures that promote health and wellness in both employees and customers. read more

I honestly couldn't believe how small this portion was for the price. Look at Taco Mama down the street for a same quesadilla that matches the price, it's awesome. I would prefer the açaí base to be a bit thicker. Like another reviewer, I love City Bowls, and they aren't quite as expensive. Clean Juice prices could use a reduction, thicken those bowl bases, and you've got the perfect business. As a side note, my daughter got a smoothie and said it was excellent. I live in the area & certainly believe this place is needed in spite of the mediocre review. I've tried a smoothie, & it was pretty good. I've also tried the wraps... veggie & chicken. Husband & I did not enjoy the veggie at all. Strange texture maybe because of the humus, large pieces of carrot was difficult to eat, & flavor was off - just not good. Chicken wrap was ok. I expected shredded chicken or chunks, but it's in the form of deli meat. I asked if it was deli meat & one of the employees said no & that it was cut daily from a block. Well that's how deli meat starts. Although the chicken may be organic, which is important to me, getting the chicken in a different form would add flavor & help justify the price. read more

Ehhh, I was not impressed. I got an açaí bowl, which first of all, was WAYYYY to overpriced, and was also more liquidy than other açaí bowls I've had. It tasted good and the fruit on top was tasty. They werent wearing their masks properly and then refused to give me my receipt. The manager was disrespectful and childish the entire time. I work in fast food, as well. I COMPLETELY understand how irritating it is when someone claims their order isn't right AND the struggle of wearing a mask for long hours, but it's for the safety and well-being of your customers. My husband is extremely high risk. I wont have anywhere to go if I get covid. So yeah, I'm a little afraid of catching it. Ive had their smoothies and while they are not the best I have ever had, for Birmingham I think they are some of the best. However, I am not at all a fan of this company any longer and will not return. When they initially opened during the pandemic I felt comfortable going in, as the space which is tight was very organized, and the staff were all masked and very conscientious about COVID protections. When I went this last week all that had changed, none of the three young servers wore masks and when I asked why they the young woman said they did not have to, and clearly looked annoyed. I brought it to the managers attention as best I could, and posted questions and concerns on their social media, but they blocked me and deleted all comments. Good or bad, people deserve to read others concerns so they can decide for themselves. Ive continued to ask what their policy is. They have yet to reply with their policy. They first told me in an ig comment that got deleted that they sanitize the surfaces. They did not state that masks are required of all employees. They did not recognize or acknowledge that we are in the midst of a global pandemic and employees can be asymptomatic and transmit the virus to customers. For a company who prides themselves on health this is concerning to me. And yes we have choices where to go, so some may say, just dont go there. Fair enough. But as a food business companies are held to high standards to protect customers from food poisoning, salmonella and so on and so on. I would prefer not to wear a mask. It is uncomfortable, however, if I am serving others it is my duty to keep them safe. Like it or not, COVID concerns are going to be hear for a while and pretending that they don't exist or not having employees wear masks as a policy does not seem right. I hate masks too.
