There's times in life when you just feel like, "Why didn't I get the Memo??" Where you go into a situation (let's say, an air-conditioning repair - simple, straightforward, right??) - .. and the Universe has other ideas about how the story will go. For example... if that A/C repair yields unexpected damage in the walls and instead of a simple repair job - the A/C company cannot even more forward because BAM!! - you've got a pipe that's been leaking slowly and creating MOLD. Not just a little... but a whole 'deep-hidden-in-the-walls' situation that's gonna require some VERY expensive steps BEFORE you can even get back to fixing the A/C. In the middle of summer. In the middle of 90 degree heat waves... Yeah. I didn't get the Memo the day was gonna turn into that kind of day... The one GREAT THING that came outta a day that I would like NEVER to repeat...?? DEEN. Deen was referred by the folk at PURE RESTORATION (thank you PURE R.!) and despite having had a full day of insanity of his OWN - when he heard the scared, overwhelmed voice on the other end of the line - REROUTED his day to ensure he could stop by to expedite testing and remediation... and a few things were VERY CLEAR: DEEN and his Team care very much about people. They put customers first. Profit was not at all in play - in fact he started from a very conservative point and said that we would take it slow, and figure out what was needed slowly and with proper steps to ensure we kept damage (and cost) to a minumum. DEEN is incredibly honorable. I know how these companies can proceed... they've got innocent clients who just don't KNOW about the complexities - and a more greedy company can take great advantage of this at the customer's unknowing expense. He told me the truth, took the time to explain the layers, and reassured me he would work hard to keep cost - and my anxiety - to a minimum. DEEN is incredibly knowledgable. He shared myths that are used to scare people about asbestos and mold, that are shared to hike pricing and damage, and also shared what WAS to be respected and mitigated immediately. I am hardly an expert in construction, contractors, water damage, mold, and the steps needed to remediate... but after just one visit with DEEN I learned a TON that helped us make the right decisions to get me back to whole. Wow wow wow is all I can say. We had a burst pipe in the bathroom wall, water running around, under carpet, under tile, under the vanity etc. It was stressful and we didn't know what would or would not be covered by insurance. Turns out everyone needs their drywall tested for asbestos and lead before being opened for repairs, and the restoration company we called brought in Deen from Clear Air to manage the testing. Wilmer arrived to take the samples and was polite, quick, and professional. Then we learned ours is one of the very few insurance companies to not cover the cost of the testing. Deen handled the situation with utmost integrity, to the point where I am just astounded. Probably the best response from anyone I have dealt with in the 18 years of having lots of work done on our house. If everyone operated like Deen, what a world this would be. I needed water damage work at my house but was told that I needed to have environmental testing conducted prior to due to the age of my house (1940s). Clear Air was the vendor that my chosen vendor uses for environmental testing. It was a pleasure working with Deen and Rolando. They understood my concerns, adhered to house rules of no shoes in the house, and performed their work quickly. Outside of the scope of work, I asked Deen to take a sample of a pipe that was in my crawlspace. No questions asked, he was game to do it! He suited up in a tyvek suit and took samples of that pipe for me. Deen is also great at communication. I even had questions post-testing that he took time to give me a call to discuss. It was a pleasure working with them. If you need environmental testing, Clear Air should be on your short list. I would do business with them again. read more

Deen and Clean Air Environmental are honest, reasonably priced and look out for your best interests. We had an issue with possible mold growths around a few windows and were concerned it might be in the walls (we have a newborn) . I called around and their competitors quoted double or triple the price for testing for mold. Price isn't everything to be sure when you're talking about safety in the home. But I do feel the other companies are very over priced for a 3-4 test samples. Deen came out the next day. He was polite, answered all our questions and was incredibly mindful of taking samples where they are needed and not just racking up samples for the sake of running up a bill. When the tests came back that showed one room had a high airborne mold count, he came back for a follow up. He initially thought he'd need to break open part of the wall to sample, but then noticed the wooden blinds looks to have dried mold in a couple of placed. He explained that was the likely culprit of the airborne mold and not damage in the walls. He took a sample from the blinds for a testing. If that sample was found to be the source, we could avoid much more expensive testing and clean up of the walls. I would highly recommend Clean Air Environmental based on Deen's honesty and ethical business practices. read more

First off, this whole asbestos thing is so overwhelming! I was searching around for a company to come out and test our popcorn ceilings for asbestos and then I found Deen! Mario came out on a Saturday for us to perform a clearance test on our asbestos abatement. This was a last minute schedule and change - and he came out and did the test and found a lab that would get us results the same day so that we could stay on schedule for our flooring delivery on the next business day. I needed to sandblast my house to remove old stucco. The AQMD told me I had to perform an asbestos test prior to sandblasting. I called Clear Air Environmental and they came to take samples the same morning I called. They returned the results the next day. It turned out I needed additional testing and they took care of it. Fortunately, the samples showed no appreciable asbestos. Total turnaround time was less than a week. Deen was also willing to adjust his fee to accommodate my budget. read more
