I recently utilized Sensitive Environmental for asbestos abatement & mold removal. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. From start to finish, it left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. There was issues one after another. The initial quote was fair and after meeting Gary whom comes out to inspect was good. I felt like at the time he explained to me the process pretty well. I gave them every bit of information that I was aware of. One being there might be water intrusion from the outside and mind you this was also recorded with consent. The first day of the demo (the day before the rain), they already forgot to clean out the closet, I reminded them. 2nd, I checked the bed frame which they said they would clean, still had mold on it. 3rd the staff I did not see them wearing any protective gear at all times. Which baffled me a bit because this is supposed to be harmful to your health. 4th, they used tarp to cover the door with a bunch of tape to contain the room and coming in and out for the inspector was hard. Lack of execution and attention to detail. 5th, they did not send me pictures of what was done. And last one just for that day, their employee forgot to clean something and came back later in the evening to finish up and ended up leaving bits of paint on the way out. I want to mention that Gary game me a piece of tarp to cover what I can outside to avoid the work they just finished from getting wet again. We had a 3rd party company come in to test the room to ensure mold was gone from the room. And as soon as he came in, he already determined that it would fail. There was no dehumidifier and some of the bases was still damp. And of course the results came back and it failed horribly and a bit of rain will not make the results come back that bad as it did. As soon as the inspector comes all Cari (owner) can do was to blame it on me saying she wasn't aware that the outside wasn't repaired and it was dry - if that was the case, why did you guys give me the tarp. I sent her the convo Gary and I had thankfully. Even then, she seems childish and immature and takes no accountability. Talks up a storm about how long she has been in this business but when a difficult issue arises she needs to get a consult. Her team ended up bringing the dehumidifier and it wasn't even turned on properly because there was no liquid being extracted for a few days and after they had turned it off or something and it got turned back on - there was liquid. The test took a while to come back and after a few days they were already demanding for it back and wanted to charge us money for that which was not indicated on the contract. She sent her secretary to come and turn off the machine and she showed up late which was a inconvenient. Our landlord ultimately had them finish up the job and reclean what was previously worked on for an additional $1500 more or less and ended up charging an extra $300 plus to the landlord outside of the contract which if I had known I would have told the landlord to not pay since they failed to mention it and it was not part of the contract. Even the 2nd time around when they came back to complete the job - the owner and Gary was arguing over the phone while I am in the house and its very uncomfortable. The owner were consistently rude and unprofessional in their interactions. It was evident that they lacked basic courtesy and failed to communicate effectively. I know I am rambling but all in all this experience speaks volumes which reflects poorly on the company's commitment to quality and not trustworthy at all. Most disappointingly, it seemed that the company's primary concern was extracting money rather than delivering satisfactory service. This attitude was evident throughout my interactions with them. Overall, my experience was highly disappointing. I would caution others against using their services. read more

Want to remove Asbestos air ducts so I called around. One abatement company wanted me to get it tested (for about $800) first by a testing facility. When it is unclear whether Asbestos exists, getting tested makes sense. In my case it was obvious (due to age and specifications of the air ducts) so I was confused why I needed such (expensive and unnecessary) confirmation since I already planned to follow the protocol of asbestos removal. This company, and especially Cari, is the pinnacle of professionalism and excellence in work. My wife and I bought a home that needed remediation. Quickly: popcorn ceiling containing asbestos; damaged asbestos in attic; asbestos tiling throughout the entire home; wood paneling in one room with lead top-coat; tiling in master shower with lead glazing; wallpaper in several rooms with lead-containing paint on walls and asbestos in the joint compound. Having infant twins, we were concerned about the hazardous material throughout the home. At one point we were considering taking out all of the drywall! With much consultation (and, I must mention, incredible patience and understanding from Cari), we decided to leave the drywall. Sensitive took care of the asbestos tiles; popcorn ceiling; damaged asbestos in the attic; wallpaper; wood paneling; and master shower tiles. Cari walked us through the entire process. After getting a P5 plan from a testing company, we interviewed five abatement companies to perform the removal of the ducts. Although Sensitive Environmental was not the cheapest, they charged a reasonable price and the ease with which we were able to work with them made it worthwhile to spend a little extra. I really wish the landlord had gone with a different company and not with what was cheapest because you really get what you pay for and in this case it ended up in our things being thrown out, several items being damaged, and a mediocre cleaning as we still found debris in different places within the affected area that they missed! Cari only cares about getting you to sign a waiver to start the work and that's it. And they waited until the last minute (24 hours prior) to get the paperwork taken care of. Her Customer service and communication goes down the drain once she has your signature. On Wednesday October 21st She hung up on my call to take another call and said she'd call back but never did. She also didn't call back the next day not even when I texted her asking her for an update. It wasn't until 2 days later when I told her I'd be posting a review that she cared to reach out again. I would like to give Alma 5 stars 10/10- if I could but this review is for Cari and her business. I know things would be different had Alma been handling everything because her communication and customer service skills are exceptional. She didn't miss a thing! The issues of my things being thrown out stemmed from Cari's lack of paying attention and perhaps not having the time or focus to run the business properly. In return I'm the one who suffered more losses and now Cari and Sensitive Environmental won't respond for her mistakes.
