This review is for the optical dept- no experience w/Drs. We are not patients here- yet! My daughter's glasses broke on a Sunday & I called to see if there was a possible fix. While the Rx was expired (of course), I was able to text a photo of the broken glasses. Melissa said they could fix them & to come in. We were there less than 15 mins- temporary but sturdy fix! Melissa was assisting others when we arrived, however the guy (I didn't get his name) that helped us & performed the fix was just as friendly & helpful. Awesome service! Thank you! read more

We have been coming here and seeing Dr Oliver Lou for over 2 years now and he has been taking amazing care of our whole family. Especially our kids (now ages 7 and 5). Our kids actually look forward to going to his office. Dr Lou and his staff are friendly and very welcoming everytime we visit. We have been going to Signature Eye Care every year since 2017. We started with a doctor who is no longer there but we loved him. Now we see Dr. Bolen and she's fantastic. Dr. Bolen is great. Office is expensive. I paid $ 15 for the exam. $10 for material copay. Refractive $55. $374 for lenses. Total $454 Total billed to insurance $1055 just lenses NO frames. Insurance company said my liability should be $175. What a racket. read more

I have used this company on and off for years. The only reason I leave is because my insurance changes but I'll tell you, they are worth every penny they charge to use their services! I have been coming to Signature Eye Care for several years. I always see Dr. Bolen and she is really good. She takes the time to understand what is going on with your vision, any concerns you have, and she always has great suggestions. I am giving a 4 star rating because I was scheduled with another Dr. today as I couldn't get in today with Dr. Bolen. Next time, I will wait for her. I saw Dr. Kells today and my experience was not a good one. After my exam, she said that my eyes have improved and a new prescription would be needed. She gave me some new contact lenses to try with the new prescription. The first lenses were blurry and I could not see out of them clearly. She told me my eyes had to adjust so we sat there for a few minutes and I still had blurry vision. I removed those lenses and tried another pair. My right eye went in well and my left eye was really blurry. I pulled on the side of my eye to adjust the lens and I could feel something wasn't right. I could feel the lens in the corner and then I could see. I had her check with the machine and she didn't see anything unusual. I took the lens out and I was holding two lenses. I explained that with this brand, it's happened to me before. And unfortunately that's when the condescending look came my way. I said "You don't believe me". She replied coolly with "I just have never heard of that happening before". And then she went on to say that I hadn't removed the first lens even though I took the lens out and threw it away. Having a good beside manner can go a long way. I don't have the confidence that she has the right prescription for me. I also don't like the way she treated me about the double lens. Her attitude was borderline arrogance in that she wants to be right. And that attitude is troublesome when you are working with patients who aren't a one size fits all approach. read more

EVERYONE there is so friendly and happy! My wife and I recently visited Signature Eye Care and found the customer experience to be outstanding. We were immediately greeted and walked through the process of initial forms. Our wait time to be seen was minimal and our technician Vivian was extremely courteous and helpful. She fully explained every step of the process and took great care to document all of our medical history. Dr. Joe was very courteous, answered all of our questions, and made us feel valued as human beings and not just another patient in an assembly line of patients which has been our experience in other medical offices. Not only did we feel comfortable after the eye examination, we actually understood more about our eye health than when we arrived. Everyone in the office was very nice and helpful. We had the pleasure of working with Mike to select our glasses, get measurements, and ask any further questions. Again, we were provided with excellent service. Mike was meticulous in getting all of the information correct, and very transparent in explaining the next steps of the process. He even researched what our insurance would cover and fully explained the coverage and our out of pocket costs. We will be using Signature Eye Care for all of our vision needs from now on. Doctor Lu and crew consistently exceed my expectations regarding client services and of course eye care. When you arrive you are greeted courteously and professionally by the front desk. They quickly move you through your insurance and account detail verification. What impresses me the most is that I never wait for more than a few minutes past my scheduled appointment time to begin my exam visit. I'm sure we have all experienced the frustration of having an appointment at say 2 PM only to be sitting in the waiting room for 20 minutes while the front desk lamely states the Doc is running a bit behind and then you sit in the exam room for another 10 minutes. This is frustrating, to say the least. At Signature, you move quickly/smoothly from your initial eye exam, to the exam room, and lastly to meeting with your doctor. There is a reason that Signature has so many 5-star rating and are awarded so many "Best Ofs" and it starts with hiring and training their client-facing team, exceeding expectations regarding eye care, and having a positive vibe from beginning to the end of your visit. UPDATE... 11/27/2022 I had contacted Dr Lou regarding my Rx prescription in July and sadly he did not contact me back about how to resolve the issue. Sadly, this was an on going issue and was NEVER resolved until now. Unfortunately this is my last visit to this place... Starting next year i will be taking my business to another eye doctor who is understanding and willing to work with patients in a timely manner and not wait until 4 months later to find the lenses were not prescribed correctly. read more

Both pairs of glasses I bought here were Silhouette Eyeglasses with non-reflective, transition, progressive lenses. They were expensive glasses, yet both pair had a weird reflection in the light where the progressives transitioned into reading mode. It was a type of bifocal line that made my eyes appear to be very watery (when they were not) at the demarcation between distance and reading mode. When I had new lenses made at another optometrist's office using my Silhouette frames from Signature, I did not have a watery bifocal line in my lenses. I stopped using Signature after I received two pair of glasses with defective progressives from them. read more

UPDATE: Soon after I posted this review, Dr Lou has personally reached out to me. I greatly appreciate his willingness, flexibility to make things right and taking responsibility. It was an awkward rough start but I felt satisfied by the end of the call how he handled the situation. This review applies to staffing or scheduling only. I've tried atleast twice to get an appointment scheduled via Phone. Both times I was told, I would get a call back from scheduling and we can set this up ASAP. This call never came. As one last try, I tried their web and the response was quick. Though, a 2 week wait time for any appointment was beyond acceptable; perhaps an unreasonable ask too when I clarified I had no provider preference and any "first available" option would do. The worst of all is the complete lack of responsibility or the much needed courtesy in all interactions from the staff. Perhaps if a business is that busy to cater the needs, I would rather find someone who has the time and care. read more

This was a great eye dr for my family for years but I just cannot deal with the front office anymore. The receptionists could not be more rude. It's also a very LOUD office with employees chatting with each other to the point where you can't hear anything else. They also always say they will give you a few spare contacts if you're in a bind (order hasn't arrived or you're traveling and can't get in for an appointment in time) but the one time I actually take them up in it, they totally refused and said they could only sell me a full 6 month supply. Dr Dollar is great, even with kids- BUT the other Dr and intern were both terribly mannered and also messed up my prescription. Also, more points off because the decor in the office is terrible. read more

Everyone in the office is pleasant, helpful, and I actually look forward to going to my annual eye exam! I and my family have been regular customer from last 10 years at Signature eye care and they provide amazing services. My husband poked his eye and we needed to get him checked so i took him yesterday and they took care of him and asked us to pay $89.90 for the appointment and we did and doctor asked to come back for a follow up next day to take out the lens he had put in. We went today to get the lens out and they charged us for regular visit. I was surprised and i said today was just to take the lens out and you are charging office visit and they said they cannot do anything and i had to pay office visit charge again. They didn't care that i have been a long time customer and made me feel that its time to switch my vision place. Not very happy that they showed no consideration. Making Money is ok but keeping customer should also be the motto. read more

Dr. Chu takes extra time to answer my questions and provides me with options and explanations. He seems genuinely happy to help with my concerns. The front desk staff is all fantastic. They are wonderfully polite, quick, and efficient. The office is clean and is comfortable to wait in (though I can't say I've ever spent more than 5 minutes waiting for my appointment). After the appointment, you just step into the eyeglass area and they have a wide range of frames to choose from - both budget friendly and high end. The staff in this section is professional and helpful in making sure you choose frames and lenses you feel comfortable with in terms of style and also price. Every time I come here, I am warmly greeted by some of the nicest ladies I've ever met. No matter how early in the morning or late in the afternoon, they always greet me with a smile and friendly attitude. Very professional! During my most recent visit, I was taken care of by Melissa, a wonderful lady with a great sense of humor. She was courteous, professional, and thorough in everything she did. It was obvious she knew what she was doing. Dr. Dollar was great as well, exhibiting his usual professionalism and concern for my situation. He took the time to explain the results of the exam so I could easily understand what was going on with my eyes. I took the time to explain how to make a lay-up without breaking his arm. ;-) After my exam, Ray provided me with some free lens cleaner and coupons for other optical supplies. He too was very polite and professional. Overall, I give this clinic 5 stars for cleanliness, professionalism, efficiency, thoroughness, and most importantly great patient care. This was our first experience with Signature Eye Care and Dr. Dollar. I have seen various eye doctors for nearly 30 years, and Dr. Dollar is the third to have seen our 7 year old who has amblyopia and severe myopia. Our experience at Signature and with Dr. Dollar was excellent. The entire staff from the front desk, technician, Rey in contact lens fitting/education, and the glasses/optics staff were very friendly and courteous. Dr. Dollar was fantastic with our somewhat rambunctious kiddo and explained everything to us clearly. Our son's situation is unique and he took the time to understand his history, diagnosis from his pediatric ophthalmologist, performed his own assessment, and offered several options for next steps and his recommendations. While he did not sugar coat, he was empathetic with a great bedside manner. He repeatedly asked if we had any questions and even came back out to us at the front desk between patients to recap and make sure our questions were answered before we left. We did not have to wait long from our appointment time and did not feel rushed at any point. We were there 2.5 hours, but never left waiting for more than a few minutes. They also double checked with our insurance after confirming the prescription and found we were covered at 100% due to being medically necessary. Rey in contacts was just awesome with our son. Teaching a 7 year old to put in and take out contacts could be a very challenging task. While our son took to it fairly well, Rey was enthusiastic and used positive reenforcement the entire time. You would think all he worked with were kids. I can see why Signature Eye Care has been rated the best eye doctor in central Texas 10 years in a row. They went above and beyond compared to what you may often experience these days. Wish I'd come here years ago for my own care! Dr Lou certainly doesn't need anymore reviews, since it's widely known that his practice is the best around. The Lazik was a success and lasted for several years. Recently, reading glasses were needed. Yesterday he fitted me with a contact in preparation for another round of Lazik. I own a small business myself. I have a admiring eye for well run operations. Signature Eye Care is definitely a business that cares not only for their customers, but their employees as well. My wife and I have befriended one their staff...a nicer human and Karaoke singer cannot be found.
