It's been a while since I've had an actual po' boy so I'm not sure how this one compares, but it was alright. The bread was pretty toasted but I wish it was more light and fluffy so that it'd be more like a po' boy than a regular sandwich. The ingredients were pretty fresh but the hot sauce was definitely the main flavor profile. 3.75/5 stars. I think it's pretty cool that they give to stay customers a discount in efforts to be more sustainable, but it's worth suggesting that when packing up takeout orders (which is what I got) it would be more conducive to ask customers if they want their order packed in a bag BEFORE giving them their food--and giving them the option to say no--instead of just wordlessly handing their food over and expecting them to carry it around like a football....

6" funfetti cake with cream cheese icing

My family ordered my birthday cake from here this year and it was delish! I'm lactose intolerant so seeing as Clementine makes their cakes dairy free, I got to enjoy a sweet treat without worrying about it. The cake I received was a 6 inch vanilla cream cheese frosting with funfetti cake. It was truly amazing. Super moist and just the right amount of icing. It was delivered to me, so I can't talk about the service or ambiance of the place but the quality of the cake was on point. Will be ordering from here again.

Dank banana bread

The greed goddess bowl is amazing! Great portions and delicious dressing. So excited that they will be making Dank banana bread too!

Cruffin (Croissant Muffin) topped with fresh fruit

Compared to my first visit to Clementine Bakery, I think the quality has gone downhill. The pastries looked delicious, but the taste was a letdown. I ordered the "cruffin" which is a croissant muffin topped with fresh fruit. It's visually beautiful and looks like it has the flaky texture of a non-vegan croissant, but it tasted kinda stale and chewy/raw inside. I also ordered a carrot cupcake and it was hella dry. I was so disappointed in the flavor and texture of the pastries ordered :(( I did visit in the afternoon so maybe that's why the pastries weren't fresh or the best tasting. Other than this experience, I usually love Clementine Bakery. I love their friendly staff, extensive baked goods suitable for vegan/gluten free individuals, and kindness they demonstrate to their customers. But, this last visit was very average. I'm hoping to was an off day and look forward to trying again earlier in the morning.

This place is right off the subway and so easy to get to. The staff is always so friendly and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. The food is delicious, I've had a bagel with cream cheese (which is hard to get wrong) and a sweet potato sandwich (the aoli could have been spread more evenly), both of which were delicious. The sandwich was much bigger than I expected and was very filling. Their baristas make fantastic drinks, they always feel special. They have gluten free options too and so many good pastries to choose from. Can't wait to try everything on their menu.

Clem is my favorite gluten free vegan friendly bakery and cafe because: -the coffee is freaking phenomenal, their espresso is delicious too enough to drink as a shot, finally a spot that doesn't consistently underextract. -there's sweets as well as a great gf v friendly brunch menu -the baristas are so sweet! I will never stop making the trek out for my cupcakes and eggplant Sammies xoxo

Lemon and lavender cake

Although the cake and cupcakes we ordered taste good, contacting them was difficult . They dont answer their phone, they dont respond to emails- Their available flavors change daily so if you have to grab and go be prepared to walk in blind sided . I still purchased an 8' because I was visiting someone whos birthday I had to celebrate and it was last minute . What saves them is that their the only vegan bakery nearby. Otherwise, flavor was good , customer service in store was good .

It's infuriating that this costs $14.

Got a salad to go. I've had the salad at the café before and had so much left over I took it home. Ordering takeout I was given a significantly smaller portion-- too much room in the box. This is a huge rip off, and I will not be back.

The baked goods here are excellent as are the sandwiches. Great outdoor seating and some covered indoor seating (with doors).

One of my coworkers recommended this place to me because I love going to bakeries and trying pastries. I went around 4pm on a Saturday, and there were not many options for baked goods. I ended up getting their Sweet Bread Pastry and I thought it was pretty solid. The outside had a rustic bread texture, but the inside was very fluffy. I can't speak to the other items on their menu, since I was coming mainly for their pastries. The inside is really cute! They have plants on sale and a bunch of other items too. Next time, I want to go in earlier in the day when they have a bigger selection.

I've been going to Clementine for many years and finally got around to making a review. I remember when they used to have the peanut butter and jelly squares. I haven't seen those in the last year. I've tried cupcakes in the past so this time around I tried their vegan strawberry cake. I was excited to try it, but unfortunately was disappointed. It was quite dry, almost to the point of being stale and the butter cream icing was thin and lacked any flavor. This would normally amount to a 3 star or lower rating, but Clementine has been consistent over time so the 4 star rating stands for now. I will be back in the future, but don't think I'll try any cakes.

We finally made it to Modern Love. It's been on my list for years now because Isa Chandra is like…read morethe OG vegan chef. We happened to get there during brunch for our first visit, which was great because it was a mix of both lunch and breakfast options. We split one main dish from each part of the menu. The Tofu Benedict was the best Benedict I've ever eaten IN MY LIFE, and also top three best breakfasts I've ever had. The smoked tomato is what makes that dish extra special. The rosemary home fries on the side were also incredible and I'm really picky when it comes to potatoes. We also split the Chickpea Parm sandwich but I was so full that I ended up taking a majority of my half sandwich home. Which was perfect because it was even better cold! The Italian flavors mixed with the savory chickpea patty and the bitter greens was just perfect. The only thing that wasn't great (not docking any stars for this) was dessert. We ordered the Strawberry "Tiramisu." I'm putting Tiramisu in quotes because I detected no espresso and no cinnamon. It was super bland. I let my husband eat most of it. Would not order that again. I am looking forward to returning! The wait staff were really friendly, the ambiance was super pretty, and food came out super fast and hot. Perfection.

Warm atmosphere, a strong selection of vegan food and drinks, and the kind of place that made the evening feel special without trying too hard. It's since closed, and from what I understand it wasn't about the food or the love from regulars, it was the brutal economics of running a sit-down restaurant in a delivery-and-takeout world. Nine years of serving genuinely great vegan comfort food in Williamsburg, done in by margins rather than quality. That's a rough way for a good restaurant to go. If you ever got to eat here, you know what was lost. If you didn't, I'm sorry you missed it.

I was a little disappointed to see the skirt steak from my first visit was no longer available, but that quickly disappeared once I tried the mofongo. The mofongo had bits of tempeh bacon mixed throughout and was topped with oyster mushrooms. The plantain was sweeter than the traditional green plantain mash I'm used to, but I actually loved that twist. The oyster mushrooms were seasoned so well they reminded me of chicharrón, while the tempeh bacon added the smoky, savory element that mofongo traditionally gets from pork cracklings. What really tied the dish together was the creamy coconut curry, which gave it a delicious Caribbean-inspired twist. The entire dish was creative, comforting, and incredibly flavorful. I'll definitely be back again soon.

I did wait about five minutes before someone greeted me. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it looked like the servers were also handling hosting duties. One was bringing food to a table while the other was closing out a check. Once someone was available, I was seated by a very friendly hostess. I ordered the chimichurri steak, and it was excellent. It was easily my favorite part of the meal, and I'd definitely order it again. The person I was with ordered the curry goat and substituted the roti for beans and rice. They really enjoyed it, but we both felt the portion was too small for the price. The quality was there, but I do think the serving could be a bit more generous. We also ordered an appetizer that disappeared almost as soon as it hit the table because it was so good. I also had the Island Onigiri, which I really enjoyed, along with a passion fruit drink that paired well with the meal. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. The only small thing I noticed was that the restaurant was a bit chilly, and I felt like my food cooled down pretty quickly because of it.  The music was great, the atmosphere was relaxed, and overall I had a really good experience. There are still quite a few things on the menu I want to try, so I'll definitely be back and will update this review after another visit.
