I was craving a bacon, egg, and cheese. It was 10am and I was off work so I decided to order from tClementine as they were the only vegan one with free delivery. I also ordered the Schmancy, a latte, and a cup cake. After 30 minutes, I got a call from the driver saying he was there but someone else had picked up my food already. Uhh.. no? I did not have my food and the guy calling me was the one on my uber east app. The driver had the restaurant call me and, again, tell me someone had already picked up my food. I, again, told them that I hadn't gotten my food. I said that I have worked at a place with uber eats and it happened that someone gave the wrong order to the wrong courier, so we acknowledged the mistake and remade the food. She said "hold on Ill see what I can do" hung up on me, and marked my order CANCELLED. This made me still pay for the food I never received. I called the store and they just put me on hold for 25 minutes so I hung up. No restaurant needs to leave anyone on hold that long- it was obvious they knew what they were doing. Had to spend another 15 minutes on the phone with uber eats to finally get a refund that I didn't want! I just wanted a BEC!!!! read more

Being welcomed in and kindly served, I was already well impressed as it was 1pm and the bakery was quite full. The service was swift, helpful and cheery. From the look on his face I felt like I was some type of Alien that had just walked in to order. Love Clementines, it used to be just the smaller store on the side, but expanded and now has the bigger sitting area for dining in. There are not many good vegan bakeries, but clementines has a big variety of cupcakes and pies (and biscuits for dogs!) Besides their sweets, they have a lot of good savory dishes. I feel like vegan substitutes for cheeses and meats are usually kind or grainy and don't really imitate - but all the cheese and tempeh bacon and sandwiches are super tasty! I used to love this place now it stinks. They dont have barely any food anymore, the kitchen closes around 3, the coffee has become watery, and the service is terrible. Last time there we just had to leave cuz there was no hope of getting our order. Ordered a cake online, called up and moved the date of the cake, the person on the phone said yes I will check if we can do it and I will call you back if there is a problem, he didn't call back so I believe all is well. Called the day before the new date just to check in, the person on the phone said the cake is made, once again I'm assured everything is fine. Turn up at the agreed time and date, and the cake isn't there. The person serving behind the counter hasn't a clue what's going on and explains a complete lack of process within the business for them to know what's going on. Its sad . I actually really like this place LOVE the food and the fact that they have gluten free bread as well as vegan is just AMAZING. However the staff is unprofessional and act as if they know more than their customers. They push people away with their unfriendly service and self oriented chitty chatter. I have been loyal for a while now because of the product but recently I found that its just not worth to wait 20 minutes for a sandwich because apparently "they are backed up" or remind them that a cappuccino doesn't take 15 minutes to make.Or that I have to then "bother" them about making it since they forgot. When asking about what certain items contain what they act as if one is an idiot and point out the signals on the pastries as if were obvious and why did you interrupt their gossip. I heard them being rude to a phone customer and I wondered if when I left they would talk bad about me as well. When asking them about them closing the door because there was a chill (after several attempts to interrupt AGAIN there conversation ) I was told it was the fan they had on. They turned that off but still the place was cold. I put on my coat and sweater while I finished my cold coffee that I had waited 15 minutes for and decided that the chill was perhaps coming from them. They didn't care if the only customer sitting in their cafe at the time was cold. Sorry to say I wont be coming back for a while. It was a gluten-free lemon lavender cake. The cake itself was dry, hard and flavorless. It took a lot of elbow grease to cut into as well. The icing tasted like it came out of a betty crocker tube and was equally as hard and crunchy, not soft and creamy like icing should be. Maybe this is to be expected of gluten-free cake, but my girlfriend was equally dissatisfied. For $40 I was expecting a lot more. I dont understand the hype about this place. I can only chalk it up to the fact that vegan and gluten free people are deprived of tasty baked goods so they will eat and rave about anything. I paid $3.50 for a dense, grainy, dry, oversweet and unpalatable blueberry flavored gluten free cupcake. It had this sweet, chalky and hard smurf blue frosting that I took off and didnt eat once I took one bite. The one redeeming thing was the fresh blueberry balanced on top of the frosting. I will give this place another chance because there arent alot of gluten free options in Brooklyn but this was a major disappointment after reading all the reviews. read more
