Lots of outdoor light and intimate seating

What a pleasant surprise of a coffee shop! A cozy corner coffeehouse and bake shop you'd expect to find in San Francisco. Quiet, lots of sunlight, well-appointed. Coffee was great. The staff was pleasant. Across the bridge, right on Elm. A special experience worth the two-minute drive or the five minute walk across the bridge. Good things are worth discovering and supporting so they can become your favorites. Treat yourself to a new and different place. You will be glad you did.

WOW! LOVE this place!!!! Such a gorgeous clean space! Beautiful natural lighting. You can sit by the window and look towards the river. So many birds flying over the river. Love the natural wood and white plus grey decor. The space gives one a buoyant feeling. I ordered a 12oz Oatmilk vanilla latte. The regular amount of vanilla (1oz), was too sweet for me. Next time I will ask for half sweet. In addition, I chose the home made cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting. My latte and cinnamon roll cost $10.93 for both. This is average cost for these items in Lawrence. They offer a water station, too, which is wonderful for keeping hydrated while you caffeinate yourself. They offer cookies, cupcakes and macarons. Flavors of cookies vary with a few sounding super interesting: white chocolate & raspberry plus a Mexican chocolate. So much love has been put into the details here! I HIGHLY recommend making a visit here! I lived in NYC for over 19 years and this is a New York quality kind of place! Thank you, Cleo & Leo! Can't wait to sit outside on the patio when the weather is warm.

cleo & leo is a new addition to lawrence! it's right across the bridge in north lawrence and on the river. it's quiet and nesstled in the neighborhood. it could be confused for a home. the have a wide selection of coffee and lattes, with a terrific seasonal menu. the pastries are pretty good, too. they have french macarons and they're done well and taste great. there's two different cinnamon rolls so get the cream cheese option. the folks there are nice and get you right the first time. they're smiling and ensure your experience is good. service is fantastic! overall would recommend! great if you're wanting a coffee and a treat when you're downtown!

Best place in Lawrence for a coffee/matcha and a sweet treat. Love that they are women owned and brought some Hispanic culture to the Midwest. (Yes, they have concha's!) Cannot recommend the blueberry latte or blueberry matcha enough!

Cute and quaint Mexican women owned bakery that is perfectly location by the river and near downtown. One of the best coffee places in town with friendly staff and quick service. Awesome place to hang out or study! I love the rotating concha flavors and sweet treats. Today, they had a sign up front to try their burritos and it worked because we tried their western burrito! This burrito had peppers, onions, eggs, cheese and was so so tasty especially with the salsa verde.

Sweet community hub. Highest quality foods and drinks with nice service in a modern, clean, but welcoming cafe with plenty ioutdoor seating to bird watch next to the river. Must-try items include: macaroons, pecan sticky buns, cortados, and conchas. Breakfast and heartier foods sometimes served as specials on the weekends.

Full disclosure I came here with a lot of uncertainty. There's a TON of coffee shops in Lawrence…read moreand they all aren't created equal. I took a meeting here and the person I was meeting with gave me a few local options. This was the place I hadn't been yet so I thought I'd go a bit out of my comfort zone and try a new spot. Something I was nervous about from the photos on Yelp was if there would be enough inside seating when I arrived for a meeting. When I pulled up, I was still a bit anxious about this as the front lot was full and I had to pull to the back to park. Once I got out of my car and walked through the cafe to the front to order my anxieties about seating had diminished. It's much larger inside than the outside appears and the photos here on Yelp don't really do the indoors justice. Yes, the outdoor seating is really cute and well shaded so I get why folks focus on it, but if you're like me and wanting to get some work done you'll find a comfortable spot here. Now onto the coffee. As I made my way into the shop I noticed one of my art school professors (we both sort of looked at each other like "do I know you?") and I moved on, but that's a good sign. The art teachers usually know where to snag a decent cup of coffee. When I ordered I tried one of their special drinks and chatted with the baristas about it before I made my choice. Extra points here because not only was the drink really, really good, but the girls working were beyond friendly and answered all of my questions. I'm not lying when I say this was one of the best cups of coffee I've had in Lawrence in some time. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

I love the beans they offer - my favorite in town. The homemade seasonal syrups are a MUST - was obsessed with rosemary brown sugar this summer - and the baristas are all kind and accommodating with half-sweet requests. Glad they got a location downtown.

While not the case across the board, we found a number of the items we selected to be on par with the quality of treats we enjoy while visiting France. Needless to say I will be wearing out the Turnpike making return visits to this real gem.

We just finished up at Allen Fieldhouse watching the Aggies lose to KU (poor Eric R.) and his work called with an emergency so he wanted to sit somewhere, get tea, and use his laptop. I suggested we go to Mana's location. There is free wifi and several places to sit. We decided to share a pot of tea. The tea expert let me try the tea of the day, Oriental Garden oolong, which was really good to me. However, Eric R. likes green tea so we had to agree. He suggested jasmine pearls, and I agreed. We sat down, had lots of cups of delicious jasmine green tea, and got work done. There was a tv playing Japanese anime quite loudly in the background, but we tuned it out.
