Do not go here. Wish I could do ZERO stars. I got my tragus pierced and the piercer admitted the placement was off while doing it, but said it would probably heal fine. It didn't -- it ended up ripping through my ear and was incredibly painful. Nothing snagged it -- it tore purely because it was done wrong. I sent them a photo of the rip and they told me the placement looked fine, even though their own piercer admitted at the time that it wasn't. They offered me a free piercing to make up for it, so I made an appointment... only to get a call the day of saying the piercer no longer works there. Wildly unprofessional. I'm now left with a HOLE in my ear. Go literally anywhere else. Not to mention, ridiculously overpriced. read more

BEWARE. My tattoo I received from cleopatra ink a month and a half ago has healed into the most upsetting and faded tattoo I've ever received. The service and vibe of the entire parlor was what drew me in, they were incredibly kind and helpful when I initially got it. Me and my sister both got matching Saturn tattoos for 100$ each. Cut to a few weeks ago and as I was replacing the bandaging and I noticed tons of the line work had FALLEN out as it wasn't tattooed deep enough. I got another tattoo one week after this one, and it healed PERFECTLY and is flawless. I can't say the same for this one, and unfortunately it's a MATCHING tattoo with my sister. She lives in St. Louis so she didn't have the same luxury of going back and getting the tattoo retouched... but apparently NIETHER DID I, as when I arrived at the parlor, I was informed they don't have any guarantees on hand and finger tattoos? Which they NEVER made me aware of before I got the tattoo or I would've NEVER went through with it. I'm a very cautious and detailed person. My sister is too, if we were told about that guarantee we would've taken that red flag and moved on to a different tattoo studio. It's important to note that my sister's tattoo is extremely faded too. They told me to retouch this small tattoo that they had BOTCHED just weeks prior, it would cost 60$. That's nearly the cost of the initial tatoo. Lost my snakebite jewelry and went here to get a replacement. Told piercer my piercing was new and I needed a longer length than standard. Piercer acknowledged this but still gave me the wrong jewelry. Asked if I wanted him to install it for me and of course I obliged-- he didn't mention that theres a $15 instillation fee and only told me about it when he rang me up. Not only that-- he dropped the ball and fiddled with my piercing hole for like 5 minutes before getting it in. Could have done that shit myself. Dear Axel, While I agree that it takes some skill to do finger tattoos, that does not change that fact that your prices are outrageous. I was quoted and foolishly paid $300 to have 4 fingers tattooed with a total of 5 words. 20 character. 21 if you count spaces. And of course being the outstanding shop that you guys are, you don't offer free touch ups. No, that would be too much. After ripping people off we couldn't possible be bothered to stand behind our work and make sure it looks good and that our clients are pleased. What an amazing policy. So after the tattoo had begun to fade, far quicker than I expected. I'm sure thanks to the expertise and quality work I received, I decided to go to a different shop to have a touched up. Not a place for first timers. My friend has darker skin and was hoping to get their first tattoo. My friend came in with an idea of what the tattoo would be but asked for a recommendation on colouring because of having a darker complexion (skin tones that are darker generally fair better with black ink rather than coloured ink). The gentleman gruffly responded something along the lines of "If you don't know what you want then you shouldn't have come". That right there would have been enough for me to leave but my friend showed kindness, patience and grace and gave the tattoo artist the benefit of the doubt. My friend requested to see a tattoo book with options and the artist snappily rushed him through it. My friend left and paid a celebrity tattoo artist to do a beautiful sleeve instead at a different tattoo parlour. The artist there was kind, patient, made my friend a priority and walked my friend through the best colouring for their skin as well as suggestions to help make the first tattoo as easy a transition as possible-- especially considering this was a first for said friend. While my friend may not have written a review, I am appalled and upset for him. This is something that will permanently alter your body and all customers should be shown grace. I don't wish to name the artist as I do not wish for anyone to lose their livelihood, especially around Christmas, but I certainly hope a conversation about treating all customers with dignity will be had with staff. People who live in Santa Monica shouldn't have to go elsewhere for decent treatment. I will be recommending all of my friends go elsewhere even if more inconvenient to get their tattoos done. We have so many options in the LA area that that sort of treatment is unacceptable. I certainly hope this was strictly because this artist was having a bad day or lacks customer service skills and had nothing to do with colouring. And I hope they improve this for the future. If you are getting a first tattoo I recommend calling another parlour and seeing how they treat you on the phone before walking in, this is a big, permanent and costly commitment depending upon size and colours used. I do not wish for anyone else to be treated in this manner. So disappointed and my friend is such a kind and charismatic person, I am shocked anyone would treat someone like that this way. read more

Very Overpriced .. I went to get a touch up/coverup for my tattoo. Original full shoulder tattoo took almost 7 hour a year ago in other location. We decided on some design changes, only upper half of the tattoo. It should take 4, maximum 5 hour. They said, we charge per work and not per hour and quoted me $2000 for touch up, that should take 4 or little more, if they work super slow. After I told them it's way too much even for LA pricing, they drop it to $1800. That's like $400 to $500 per hour. I do understand it's in a good location, they have comfortable sofas and friendly employees but the price they charge is way overpriced compared with similar tattoo shops with similar work. Plus there is no parking, it's only street paid parking around. read more

Didn't go here for the tats, but for a piercing. I got a conch and my friend got a low helix. V luxurious inside, nicely decorated and friendly staff. But overpriced, and even after they gave us a discount (piercer said she liked us ig) it was still overpriced. (My sister got her conch done at a different place a week prior and the piercing process took under 20 seconds and costed her 25 dollars less.) Mine was v painful but I expected it to be bad so whatever. What I didn't expect was over 4 minutes of intense pain. Felt like she was skewering my cartilage with a chopstick. My dead grandma could've pierced my ear faster. And before y'all blame me, it wasn't my fault it took so long, my pain tolerance is decently high so I barely moved and didn't jerk at all. My friends piercing took double the time, but in the piercers defense, she did move a lot. I wouldn't return here for another piercing even if you paid me. read more

Okay, I'll start by saying that the tattoo that my artist gave me was great. My girlfriend and I both came to get tattoos and we were really excited. I liked my artist so much that I talked my girlfriend into getting a piece done by her too, and she did. And the piece is beautiful! But this review is for the actual shop so.. To start, the price is SO EXPENSIVE. Way too expensive. They try to justify it by saying they are "world class tattoo artists" but dude they charge you at least 3 times what it would normally cost in LA. On top of that, they can't keep their appointments straight. We came back for touch ups on our tattoos and they turned us away after we had an appointment TWICE saying it was too busy... like bruh it takes an hour to drive there AND we had appointments... come on. Then we get there today for an appointment with our tattoo artist (specifically requested) and they say she's gone for the day and they'll give us someone else??? Man it's just really frustrating because we really wanted to like them here and make this our go-to spot, but they make it difficult with all of the bull shit they put you through. When we semi-complained about all of this they were like "we'll give you a discount on your next tattoo!" But even that's too expensive to justify. Heed warning - Very expensive, very unorganized, and shitty communication, but our tattoo artist was talented for sure. Won't be going back :( read more

I was told the wait would be 7 minutes. 15 minutes later a "designer" started asking us what we want. Mid-sentence the designer started talking to someone else for the next 20 minutes and completely ignored us. We asked the front desk person how much longer, or if someone else could help us. We kept being told 5 more minutes. Eventually, we and several other customers walked out in disgust. The idea that only a single designer is the only way to work with this shop is ridiculous, when I saw 3 artists sitting around doing nothing.
