When we walked up to it the first thing we all noticed was the rot on our building and the front deck hadn't been pressure washed in a long while. The chairs outside needed to be cleaned as they were filthy and moldy. When we opened the door it seemed like the housekeepers had come in to clean out but didn't add any shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. There was no hair dryer. There were no cups, there was nothing extra but towels. And we spent three nights. The mattresses were lumpy. It was crappy enough sleeping on a double bed but the mattresses were all terrible. This is supposed to be the Mecca in the USA for coaster fanatics. And yes, we have been all over the USA to ride coasters and check out all sizes of parks. This was pretty much the worst place we have ever stayed in property. The food was pretty awful as well js. When you play with the big boys you have to keep up with the big boys and this is not keeping up. SMH. Loved the view.

Never felt like there were any kind of cliques that you might see somewhere else (cough cough, starts with Sauga and is on Lake Michigan). The owners go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing experience. You have several options to choose from as far as where you stay. Everything from primitive and powered tent camping, RV sites, small cabins, and a Amazing bunk house. I stayed in a powered tent site. It was very nice; lots of shading trees all over the campground (something lacking in lower MI campgrounds.) They have a heated pool as well as a huge dance hall open every night to go have drinks and socialize. Can't wait to go back.

Nice pads and tables at the campsites. TONS of activities for the kids (ages 5 and 4). Great camp store. Literally no need to leave for anything! Not the same campground…read more I have stayed at this campground several times. My kids love all the activities so we try to make it a yearly stop. They have wibits, outdoor pool, jump pad and other scheduled activities. This time around we were somewhat disappointed with our stay. They campground has been going through a management change. They expressed multiple times they have a 5 year plan. Although I think they are over a year into the plan we had booked months in advance bc the campground used to be hard to get a spot. Although it was only about half full on a holiday weekend when we stayed. They also told us they would have a new resort style pool open by then. Although the pool wasn't even close to being finished. They have emptied out most of the camping spots and have cabins all over the park that have not been hooked up. The grass was really long and someone said the mower had broke. The pool was dirty and we saw broken glass around the edge. Lots of barking dogs, especially across from the playground. During our stay the activities were not at the same caliber as they used to be and many of them you had to pay to participate in. Like bingo you have to bring your own candy bar. And every interaction with one of the bears seemed to have something for sale. The times of events were usually delayed. One time because the shower house needed to be pumped out. I think the dynamic of the type of camper they are trying to reach is different than what I have seen here in the past. Kids still had a great time but just want others to beware if they haven't stayed here in a couple years.

This was better than staying at the resort because we had our own little personal game room. Everyone was comfortable and the hosts were very accommodating. I highly recommend to stay here especially with pets. We didn't notice until the day we left, that there was a park and playground in walking distance. Even though the ferry was still boarding, the employees refused to sell us tickets for that departure, forcing us to wait until the next ferry at 1:15 p.m. What made the experience even more frustrating was that we were quoted $110 at the ticket window, but when we purchased the exact same tickets online a few minutes later, the total was only $96 and some change. The customer service was unacceptable. One employee slammed the ticket window shut while we were trying to ask questions, and another responded with "whatever" when we said we would just purchase our tickets online. It was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. The only reason I'm not giving an even harsher review is because the bartender inside Jet Express was wonderful. She was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent customer service, which helped turn around an otherwise unpleasant experience. I hope management addresses the customer service at the ticket counter because no customer should be treated this way.
