Reviews were great so we quickly pulled the trigger! Check in process was super simple. You can check in on the app and you can actually pick your room. Since we have never stayed here before, we didn't have a preference so we let them pick. We quickly verified the ID at the front desk and we were on our way to our room. Receptionist were both very friendly and even offered us waters. They do have hot coffee and hot water for tea/hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby. They also have a 24/7 store at the desk with sooo many snacks and drink options! They have multiple TVs, sittting areas and shuffle board/foosball in the lobby, which we saw lots of people enjoying. Our room was spacious. Plenty of room for storage. It smelled fresh and clean. The shower was perfect size, just wish the water was a bit warmer. My boyfriend has been raving about the hand soap since the second he tried it (it's a great scent!). They have hand soap, body lotion, conditioner, shampo, body wash all hanging on the wall for your convenience. Our king bed was very comfy and the AC worked perfectly in our room. The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. So many options! I opt for the cheese egg omelets, sausage patties, and pancakes. Plenty of toppings for your pancakes, as well as toppings for yogurt and oatmeal too. Large variety of breads and carbs. It was perfect before a long day at Cedar Point! Never called or sent an email. I called them yesterday and could not talk to a manager. Called back today and they said to call Marriott corporate. So they took my money and never let me check-in or stay there. It's absolutely abysmal customer service. Marriott corporate is no help. If you're fine having them charge your card for $760 and you not get to stay there, then go ahead and book your stay here. Also CAUTION to families traveling from states away, imagine driving all this way to find out you have no place to stay and they took almost $1k of your money. I've stayed at Sawmill Creek before which is a beautiful resort and the only reason I booked at the Fairfield because of my loyalty to Marriott. Do not prepay here, they will take your money. I should have paid more attention to the 1 star reviews on google, trip advisor, and yelp.

When we walked up to it the first thing we all noticed was the rot on our building and the front deck hadn't been pressure washed in a long while. The chairs outside needed to be cleaned as they were filthy and moldy. When we opened the door it seemed like the housekeepers had come in to clean out but didn't add any shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. There was no hair dryer. There were no cups, there was nothing extra but towels. And we spent three nights. The mattresses were lumpy. It was crappy enough sleeping on a double bed but the mattresses were all terrible. This is supposed to be the Mecca in the USA for coaster fanatics. And yes, we have been all over the USA to ride coasters and check out all sizes of parks. This was pretty much the worst place we have ever stayed in property. The food was pretty awful as well js. When you play with the big boys you have to keep up with the big boys and this is not keeping up. SMH. Loved the view.

We slept on the ground in sleeping bags. There were a lot of people making noise until about 12:30am, playing music, singing, talking and yelling. The showers were not great but fine for a campground. I went to bed around 2am when everything had died down. Around 7am, some banging started like there might be a shooting range nearby. In the morning, I explored the camping area and got some exercise. So much better than a hotel gym! I ran around, shot some hoops, and bounced on their "jumping pillow" which was exactly what I needed before a day of driving. And it was so much cheaper than a hotel room.

In hallway there is an ice machine and filtered water refill, which was great. Hotel had just opened within 1 month, but concerning is how dirty the floors/hallways are already. Carpet wasn't cleanly placed and you can see a lot of flaws throughout but not a huge deal. The dirty tile and carpeted floor just soon after opening is a little concerning so soon after opening. The stairs and hallways were not vacumed the 3 days we were there. The room was clean but not spotless on check-in. We asked for towels one evening and they were brought up within minutes by very kind staff. Breakfast had microwave style pork bacon, spinach/swiss crustless quiche (which was really great), assorted bagels, plain Greek yogurt, dairy and non-dairy milk options. Warm oatmeal and topping station for oatmeal/yogurt was great. Basic hotel hot coffee/tea options, Scrambled eggs with salsa/hot sauce. Waffle making station (2). The breakfast area is quite small and gets very busy after 8am, with staff having a hard time keeping items stocked and long wait to make a waffle. Breakfast is great prior to 8am. Pool area is very small and when more than 2 families are in pool, feels cramped and busy. No hot tub. I went to 24/7 gym each morning and used treadmill, which was nice. The sensor for lighting when working out (during dark hours) is a safety issue. Every 20 minutes the lights turned off completely, you would need to get off equipment and walk over to the door to turn lights back on. Filtered water station but bring your own bottle. Pricey for location, amenities but not a bad choice overall.

To be fair, the rooms were relatively clean, and you can tell they've tried to update an older motel. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The complimentary breakfast was simple but well done, and the older ladies running it were hardworking, welcoming, and kept everything stocked. The pool & hot tub were great. Almost no one uses it during the day. That said, for a room that cost nearly 300 a night, I expected more. The rooms are very small, the air conditioner was extremely loud, and there was a noticeable gap under the door that could easily let bugs or other critters inside. The biggest issue was that some of the posted rules didn't seem to be enforced. The pool was supposed to close at 11 p.m., but there was still quite a bit of activity afterward. There is also a picnic area where another sports team gathered with a large Bluetooth speaker playing music late into the night, making it difficult to relax and sleep. Overall, it's a decent place if you need a convenient location near Cedar Point, but be prepared to pay premium prices during peak times for accommodations that are fairly basic. Pro tip: Book directly with the hotel instead of using Hotels.com or similar sites. The direct rates were significantly lower than what the third-party booking sites were charging.

They may have some nice things going for them but this spacing was not well thought.
