They stole a diamond ring I left in my suit pocket and claimed they have no idea anything about it and that I should have called back as soon as I dropped off my clothes to let them know. When I remembered days later they told me they "don't know". Poorly run business, with untrustworthy staff. Claimed that a 3rd party cleans their clothing for them..... think twice before giving them business. If I could give negative stars I would. read more

Ruined a Disney sweater by putting it in the press without protecting the little pleather jacket. I could get over this as mistakes happen. What I can't get over is that they "repaired it". Attached is a photo of the "repair". Looks like total trash. Nobody has returned my calls or emails. I suggest you stay away from this place- they don't stand behind their work. Get some dryel or something or go elsewhere. Btw- not only did I not get a new sweater or a proper repair, I wasn't even refunded for the cleaning. Nice. This place is not worth it. It is expensive, clothes have a long turnaround time, and the last time I went I was chastised for not unbuttoning all the buttons on my husband's shirts beforehand. So I sat there at the counter doing it. So bizarre. read more

A serviceable-enough dry cleaner, yet a complete ripoff in terms of price. Being an occasional customer, I know they charge a lot in price. (I'm sure they'd haul out the usual 'real estate' in response as to the reason why.) I stopped by this afternoon prior to 4 pm with a pair of pants I needed cleaned prior to traveling out of town. The customer service employee behind the counter said they would be ready by Monday. Aware of the typical 48-hour turnaround of most cleaners, I asked if they could be ready by Friday. In response, I was told there would be a $5 'rush service' fee. That would have been in addition to the standard $10-per-garment cost. No, thanks. I brought my pants to a dry cleaner in Central Square. The total cost? $7.10. I know Clevergreen, in part, takes advantage of their 'convenience' factor, in terms of location, yet they do have competition relatively nearby which doesn't rip off their customers. Those alternative options were frequently my other choices. They're now my only options. read more

I like their mission of doing things as naturally and organically as possible but: When I asked the guy how much Uggs cleaning would have been without the discount, he called someone, hung up and said "uh, about 25$)". uhh...that's how much it cost me with the discount. wierd. For the third time, they have not had clothes ready when they said they would. I needed a suit ready for this morning for a business function, and if course they had "system issues" which delayed it. Under new management! That is key. If you hated or were wary about the old Clevergreen, I urge you to go back. They have a new manager as of early July 2013 and she is fabulous. Meets the standard of the most courteous and accommodating dry cleaners. I'm surprised to see they are rated as pricey. I disagree. Clevergreen is competitively priced (I checked local prices) and offers great service. They even accommodate oddball items, like the US Army sleeping bag that I needed to clean. Their opening hours are long and their staff is always nice to me. Frequently they surprise me with their offers to "turn" an item 24 hours faster than I need it. I've had a half-dozen services there dice the new manager started. I'm a fan and you will be, too. read more

I brought my dry cleaning here once before and it was just fine. It's 2 blocks from my house so very convenient. But this morning, at 8.30 am on a Thursday I brought a bunch of stuff here and asked if it can be ready by Saturday. They said for a 1 day turnaround they charge $5 extra per ITEM! I pointed out it's Thursday (Saturday is 48 hours away) but they didn't seem to buy that argument. So I lugged all my dry cleaning with me to Porter Sq, where the dry cleaners could do Saturday, no problem. read more

So last week I showeed up at 8AM with my dry cleaing. There was a sign on the door saying that they were away for a delivery. I waited 15 minutes then left. Best cleaners and tailors I've found here. I went in to drop off some garments for cleaning, that I needed the next day. The proprietor found that the lining of my skirt was torn and said she'd fix it but it would take a few days. To my surprise it was also done the next day. Not only was it repaired but the skirt was completed rebuilt, with new lining, button, and snap, and all of the pilling on the front was gone. The skirt looked completely new. People who yelped here complain about the prices, but in most metropolitan areas (I've lived in a few including NYC), $10 per garment is standard cost of dry cleaning. It cost $15 for the skirt tailoring which is a reasonable price, especially for the high quality of work. So, yeah, if you want cheap drying cleaning where your clothes smell like chemicals? Go somewhere else. But if you want quality, go to this place. read more

Super slow n bad service...my normal short coat they charged me $25...for a mid length moncler down jacket $35...I don't know what they are thinking...and it took forever to get them back....and even break one of my down jacket's inner pocket. Without even saying sorry or fix it! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! I dropped a cashmere sweater and they gave it back to me full of holes. I had just bought it 2 month ago, it was brand new. I complained to the manager and he said it was raided by moths and that it had probably happened at my place. Why would I leave a cashmere sweater full of holes??? At first he agreed to give me a refund on it, so I spent some time trying to find one with a discount. Once I bought it %75off (Total price $70), he changed his mind and said that he would be willing to offer store credit. I refused. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO YOUR DRY CLEANER even with a $1000 credit. Just avoid this place, go somewhere else. What a waste of time and money. They are even more expensive than anywhere else... I am so mad! read more

I saw the bad review before going and thought since it was only a single review, it could've been a fluke. I brought a jacket in and Clevergreen completely bombed. They had to send it out 3 times to get it cleaned and when I finally got it back 2 weeks later, there was still a stain on it. Not to mention they are unusually expensive and their customer service is non-existent (I called to check on the status of my jacket several times, leaving messages, and never received a call back). Went over a month ago, only to have the clerk shut the door and hang a "back in 20 minutes" sign in my face. Wrote a letter to the owner and he apologized profusely and gave me a $20 store credit. Today I went back and the same slow-poke was behind the counter. After waiting for him to take far too long to wait on the person ahead of me, I put my $100 worth of dry cleaning on the counter and showed him the paragraph long email from the owner. Not only did it take him forever to read it, but another short eternity to decipher it, then he said he was going to call the owner because I "wasn't a customer" (read: not in his computer) and he didn't know what to do. Why not just write up the order so I could get out before the parking meter expired and deal with your administrative business later? I wouldn't put up with this crap from a standard priced dry cleaner, never mind this over priced place. They claim to be green, but when you do get your order back, there are so many plastic bags and clips, I wonder if the "eco" dry cleaning makes up for it. I don't have time for this nonsense; there are five dry cleaners within walking distance from my house. This clerk wasted my time twice, so never again. Judging by all the other bad reviews here, I'm surprised they stay in business considering how expensive they are. read more

I took a jacket in to be cleaned. When I went back to pick it up, the clerk couldn't find it. He looked at every single piece of cleaning in the store 3 times, while I waited. Finally he called someone, who called him back after another 10 minutes, and advised him that they had apparently lost the tag to my jacket. He then found it. Avoid it. Bad service + they routinely break buttons on my expensive shirts. When I asked them to change buttons so that they look as original ones, they let me know they dont care about the customer who paid them $600 recently. I should have stopped using them long time ago read more

This place is awesome!! The staff are very friendly and polite. I love the fact that they are green and items just come back smelling fresh instead of like chemicals. I find they are very gentle on my garments especially my favorite vintage dress that I bought in for cleaning with a terrible red wine stain on it....long story short they saved my dress. read more

I dropped my wedding dress off on 9/14, right before I left for my honeymoon. I explained to the gentleman at the desk (more than once, actually) that I would be out of the country for three weeks and asked if that would impact anything, but he assured me that the dress would be inspected and I would receive a call (or voicemail, if necessary) informing me of the price and the dress would still be ready in two weeks, but they would hold it for me until I got back. I got several voicemails about other matters while on my honeymoon, but nothing about my dress, so I called them once I got back. Someone eventually told me they had a backlog on wedding dresses and it would be a few more weeks. I accepted this as true, but then received a call from someone in the Medford location a couple of weeks later to discuss the pricing. He said he called and left a voicemail before (maybe he did and I just didn't get it because I was abroad, no way to know for sure.) I tried to explain to him my frustration that the people at the Cambridge location had no idea what was going on and had given me misinformation when I called for a status update, but, while he was very polite, he did not acknowledge that there was anything wrong with the information the Cambridge staff gave me. He said they had no way of knowing if I had spoken to him yet. Clearly, they need to work on their communication between locations. At the very least, the Cambridge staff should know to direct customers to the Medford staff if they don't know the answer to the question asked instead of making something up. The dress was finally ready today, nearly two months after I dropped it off. They get two stars because the dress looks beautiful, but their service was absolutely terrible. The guy who was working when I dropped it off should have told me that the cleaning process would not start until I spoke to the gentleman in Medford and the people I spoke to when I called to check on the status should have told me to contact the gentleman in Medford to start the process instead of just telling me to keep waiting. They're good at cleaning, but bad at everything else. read more
