Below you will find a full account of our recent experience with this company. If you're pressed on time and for brevity's sake and want to verify what we are saying, call their company and inquire about pool resurfacing. Specifically ask about their warranty and then specifically inquire about which circumstances would the warranty be applicable and when it would be voided? Also ask the company how many claims have been submitted AND of the claims submitted how many have been approved vs denied? Cliff's Pool facilitated the latest installation of Diamond Brite in October 2019. We also paid for the Limited Lifetime Manufacture Warranty. The Diamond Brite has been coming off in large quantities (please see attached photo) (November 2022). We called Cliff's Pool to come out and inspect and to assist in providing a resolution on the matter (December 2022). We inquired about how/why pool chemicals would cause this large level of erosion in less than 5 years. Joe (Service Manager) proceeded to tell us that he has been working in the industry for 30 years and without coming to our home, our chemicals in the pool are the cause. After a few more phone calls and outreaches, Joe returned to our home and tested the chemicals. He stated our chemicals were "off". Joe stated it was not Cliff's fault, and our only possible remedy is for a claim to be submitted with the actual manufacturing company. Joe stated we would need to "balance" our chemicals and call them back. After multiple outreaches to Cliff's staff, we sent an email to the Owner (February 2023). Joe stated the water chemicals were "balanced". Joe stated the next steps would be to connect with Brandon (Cliff's employee). Brandon would then contact the manufacturer directly for a date they would be available to come out to our home. The manufacturer came out to our home (February 2023) along with Cliff's pool staff members. The manufacturer and Cliff's stated, although our pool chemicals are balanced, there must have been an issue at some point to cause the erosion. They stated there was nothing they could do and offered no resolution. We are a hard-working family with children and trusted this company with our limited finances and we have been disregarded. At this time, all we are seeking is a professional, expedient resolve to this matter and getting our pool repaired. They didn't offer to repair, replace, refund, partial refund, credit or anything/nothing. They offered no resolution at all. We tried to resolve this through phone calls, emails prior to submitting a google review or contacting the BBB. As of March 2nd, Cliff's has responded to our BBB complaint by stating they're not at fault. We are unsure that Cliff's will provide any further help to us. With that being said, please consider using another company for your pool needs. Will they call you back? Possibly. Will they come to your home? After multiple outreaches, possibly. Will they try to discredit this google review? Possibly. We would sincerely ask that you all look at their reviews and talk with other 3rd party vendors. If they would like to resolve this, our contact information has remained the same. Based on our experience, the company will likely respond to this google review in the following ways: "We are sorry that you feel like our services did not live up to your expectations..." ...This is evidenced by our high ratings across the board, including with longstanding and reputable institutions like the BBB (A+ rating), HomeAdvisor, Google, Yelp and Angie's List.... The claims by (insert customer name) made in this review and similar posts around the internet are false, baseless and damaging to our small, family-run business. Cliff's Pools and Patios' commitment and dedication to our customers' satisfaction is second to none. We do not take false claims against our business lightly and will be taking the necessary action to repair damages done by (insert customer name) defamatory posts. Cliff's Pools just completed my backyard renovation and I am all around impressed with this company. Our project included extending our pool patio, replacing the old pavers with marble, adding a 20' x 12' pergola, retiling the pool, resurfacing the pool, and adding a heater, an automated pool system, and new LED lights. The process started with CJ coming to our house to do the initial estimate. We got estimates from two other reputable companies in the area. Cliff's pools' price was right in the middle and the pricing was very fair. We then met with CJ in their showroom where you get to see all of the tiles, patio options, and even a pergola. He helped us complete the full design to get exactly what we wanted for our backyard oasis. Once we started the project, Humberto was the project manager and Luis was the supervisor. They were always available when I had questions or concerns. I consider myself a picky client and I monitored every step of the project because when I invest in something, I want to make sure it is done right. Humberto and Luis were always willing to answer my questions and to address any concern I had. They were also on-site for every major step of the project to make sure it was done correctly and that I was satisfied. Our pool patio was originally not graded properly and water pooled next to the house during heavy rains. It was a challenging issue to fix because it required a lot of releveling. All I can say is that the team that did the marble pavers were truly master craftsman. They took their time and measured and re-measured to make sure it was perfect. We also had them install a drain line. During the first major thunderstorm, I went outside to see if the water was pooling on the deck and they managed to regrade the entire deck perfectly so that all the water runs off. The marble pool deck that I have looks amazing. The amount of time and care that went into making sure every paver was perfect is unparalleled. Regarding the pool, after removing the original coping, we saw that the installer used the wrong material on the outer rim of the pool and it was chipping off. Cliff's pools was able to fix this and put in rebar enforcements and new concrete. The office gave me a contract addendum and everything was communicated in terms of the cost for the extra work. Throughout the project, they let me know if there were any issues and explained my options. They replaced all of the pool tile with iridescent tiles and they also resurfaced the pool (we used "Cliff's Choice" for the resurfacing). My pool return was also falling apart so they replaced that too. We also got a heater and had new lights installed. I feel like I have a brand new pool! The other project they did was installing a 20' x 12' pergola. This required digging 4' holes for the supports and multiple permit inspections by the city. They took care of every step of the project and the pergola is gorgeous and adds a lot of shaded area to our backyard. When you are doing a large project like this, it is so nice to work with a company like Cliff's because they can do every part of the project and you do not have to deal with multiple separate contractors. The other comment I have is that they have the nicest and most customer service friendly office staff. Whenever I called the office, I spoke to either Nancy or Sydney and they are super helpful and customer focused. They always explained every detail and made sure all of my questions were answered which was so appreciated. I am thrilled with the end result of the project and the level of service and craftsmanship that I received from Cliff's Pools. I highly, highly recommend this company. They made my vision for my backyard oasis come to life and I appreciate it so much! I have some small finishing touches of my own to do on the project but once it is done, I will add pictures. When my wife Barbara and I were planning to have our pool resurfaced we contacted three companies. One was a local company in our town. One was the company that does our monthly pool service and the third was Cliff's Pools. We went to Cliff's showroom and we were greeted very warmly by the staff. We met with Cliff Freyman Sr. who was a really nice guy. He was also the person who had originally come out to survey our pool and when he was at our home, he discovered an underlying problem with our pool that was not detected by the other two companies. We decided to contract with Cliff's pools and I have to tell you that we are very happy that we did. Everyone that was involved in our project was great to deal with. Starting with Yanio Alfonso and his wife who spent several days preparing our pool and removing our old coping, installing the new coping, etc. After they had finished, Jorge Macuilatl and his crew completed the resurfacing of our pool using the exclusive Cliff's Choice blue finish. The additional cost for this finish was well worth the expense because the color of our pool water is gorgeous. During the process Tom Samano who is the supervisor came out to make sure that the work was being done properly and to our satisfaction. For the next thirty days, Steve came at regular intervals to make sure that all of our chemicals were perfectly balanced. Everyone in the office including Nancy, Lynn and the others were always a pleasure to deal with and kept me informed as to the process all along the way. Although Cliff's Pools may not be the least expensive company doing this type of work, it is my honest opinion that they are the "best". I would highly recommend them to anyone who is contemplating having any work done on a pool. read more

Such a shame to give 2 stars and have to write this review, when the pool looks so nice! But unfortunately it's necessary, as this is how consumers share with others. And the low rating is b/c of service when needed, after the work is done and paid for. It's a premium price paid I may add, (which is fine, if one stands behind the job and work once completed). But this has not been the case, at least not quickly or easily. The lights have a problem, and one changes colors and doesn't match the others. No amount of clicking and trying to change corrects it. Not very classy or nice looking at all. So extremely frustrating. Equally and even more so, the heater for the pool and hot tub also do not function. Neither will turn on at all. So a cold pool and colder hot tub are not fun. Liked the company, office staff, website, choices, and initial work so much, but very very very unhappy with lack of quality service techs, and such delays in getting problems fixed. Customer service and promptness, and items being fixed and staying fixed, are a huge part of the overall job scope. read more

Had the pleasure of hiring Cliff's Pools a few years back to redo the pool in our community. Great experience from the very beginning from meeting with Cliff in the office to pick colors for the tile, who also explained the process step by step. Also hired Cliff's to do the maintenance of our pool which gets many compliments from our residents about how extremely good our pool is maintained. Guess this review should have been written a while ago but felt is was due because years later I still get compliments from our residents but mainly because, Joe, the service manager goes above and beyond what you would think someone with the title of manager normally would do. Joe just doesn't receive the problem we may have and send a tech out to fix the problem. Joe is a 'hands on' manager who comes out himself to assess and eliminate whatever problem we may have. And keep in mind, that our development was built back in the 70's and Joe and Cliff's keep our pool running like a well maintained vintage automobile. read more

This company has been amazing to work with. They clean my pool weekly and were excellent to deal with as certain repairs needed to be made due to the age of my pool along with updates through remodeling. CJ (Cliff's son) and one of the remodeling managers, Luis were both amazing to deal with from start to finish. Luis went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the workmanship of the pool and would frequently call to check in with updates and to answer my hundreds of questions. When someone else responded to the job, Luis always called to follow up to see how it went. The ladies in the office (Jonea, Geri, and Nancy) are also wonderful and have answered so many calls and questions I've had throughout my remodeling process. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! My pool was leaking water. I had three pool companies give me a quote. Cliff's Pools was not the least expensive . I met Cliff at his office and he showed me around his showroom. I went with his recommendation and signed the contract. His crew show up as scheduled. They removed the old water line tile, replaced with new and repaired some cracks in the pool. I chose Cliff's Special for the marcite and am happy that I did. Their crew was very professional and did a wonderful job. The complete job took less than a week which surprised me. They left the area clean and tidy. I am a believer that you get what you pay for and am glad I paid a little more. Cliff's pools and patios has serviced my pool for over 5 years also resurfacing the pool, updating the tile and installing travertine deck. Over the weekend we had a major leak in the pool where it emptied itself from full to empty over 3 days, I called the office on Saturday and on Monday Shawn came to do the leak detection. Shawn found the leak in the main drain and spent time to show me where. Shawn then donned his swimwear and his goggles and proceeded in to the frigid, now dirty pool water and dove down and fixed the seal in the main drain. I cannot thank Shawn enough for fixing the leak then and there, he really was our saviour. Also thank you to Cliff's pools for sending someone asap. We have had really great customer care from this business and plan to stick with them for the long haul. read more

I was in need of a new pool pump and filter a couple weeks ago. I called around to a few other companies but only after talking with Cliff's Pools and Patios Service Departments, and their friendly and knowledgable office staff, that I was able to be scheduled the next day for a service call. The technician came out on time and told me exactly what I needed to fix my problem. Plus he explained everything so that I could understand it, which is a task in itself. They ordered the parts and had my pool up and running the next day! Hands down this was the best experience I've ever had with a pool company and will continue to use them from here on out. End product was fantastic! Very happy with my pool and the work they did. The prepping people decided to pull into my grass without any permission 2 days in a row and caused tire marks in the grass which is poor work etiquette as I visit people's homes every single day for a living, but besides that everything was all good. They require their payment promptly which I guess I understand, but after giving them over 3K I felt a little like hey haven't I showed im going to pay? Anyways! Great work and again I am very happy! My pool looks great! As far as the office every time I called I got an answer and they responded to all my questions. Any time I sent an email they responded within a timely manner. We worked with Cliff's Pools & Patio's to resurface our pool and completely redesign our large outdoor patio. They did outstandingly professional work from the beginning of the project all they way through to completion. The transformation is unbelievable. From the first visit, they insisted on creating a design which made such a difference compared to other companies. The thing that really impressed me was not only the quality of their workmanship and not shortcutting on the materials, but also how professional everyone I talked to and how quickly they resolved any small problems that cropped up after the completed installation....In addition, everyone who was on the job was employed by Cliff, therefore he had more control over the quality of the work rather than using a subcontractor.....that included a Supervisor that checked the work as it progressed from one stage to the following one. After interviewing a few pool companies for my pool remodel, I decided to hire Cliff's Pools and I am super happy with my choice! Cliff's Pools just finished resurfacing my pool and spa. They showed up on time and finished a day ahead of what I expected. Orville, the pool prep tech couldn't have been more polite and professional. Each day he was here, he made it a point to clean up before he left. The plaster crew was equally as considerate. What an outstanding experience! With all of about 24 hours notice Cliff was kind enough to send a crew to evaluate my situation and after a little conversation between us discussing options, Cliff had the job 100% complete and operational in a total of only 4 days from initial contact to a brand new operational system.
