We have been coming to the Clifton Cafe for a long time and we love it here. Last Saturday, we came in with a party of 4 adults and 3 kids. The manager (I think her name was Megan) was really nice and put a table together for us. Our server, Ellie, was wonderful. She was cheerful and kind. When you have multiple kids at a table, it's always nice to have an understanding server who can take orders quickly and bring our food fast hahah. The food was delicious as usual. I don't know if I liked the Denver crepe more or the French Toast crepe... its a tough call! Anyway, we will definitely continue to come to the cafe! It's a cute little blue house with parking in the back as well as on the street. :) I ordered a Raspberry Mocha and a sweet crepe, Ani's Nutty Bananaberry ($8.5) that came with nutella, bananas, fresh berries and powdered sugar on top. I'd recommend this one! One of my friends got a plain nutella crepe (wouldn't recommend, it's sickly-sweet) and the other got a savory crepe, which was alright. And my mocha...eh... pretty standard even though the server made it sound life-changingly amazing. Service was quite slow and we waited at least 30 minutes for our crepes. Took at least 20 to get our drinks. There weren't that many people in the cafe at the time so I'm not sure what took so long? Overall, this place hits the spot but the food isn't mind blowingly good. I received a recommendation from one of my non-Yelping friends and she was spot on. The crepes here are delicious. The crepes are made well. They're not chewy or flimsy and are pleasantly buttery, whether you have a sweet or savory crepe. I had the chorizo hash for my main and the blueberry rhubarb for dessert. The chorizo hash crepe exceeded my expectations, it wasn't oily, mild+ in spicyness, and just great. My dessert crepe had a lot of cheese, so I really just wanted more bberry/rhubarb - it was pretty good. The cafe is small. If you have a group that want to dine here, for sure make arrangements ahead of time or, at the very least, call an hour ahead of your visit because this place is popular. Seating is a little cramped, but service is attentive. I had an iced tea with my meal and received a free iced tea to go - this was a very welcome surprise. Who doesn't love receiving something for free?!? I think most diners got a free parting drink, as long as it wasn't a specialty drink. This was a cute little cafe! I tried the creme brulee latte and it was pretty good! I was surprised that they also offer an assortment of alcoholic drinks (wine, beer, cocktails) along with their food options. During my visit I didn't get a chance to try any of the food yet but I hope to come back again soon to do so! They had a lot of savory and sweet crepes that I'm eyeing on their menu. The location is a very cute, quaint type of town. Although they only have crepes for food (only reason why I wouldn't give a 5 rating), the coffee/drink options are great. Whatever you decide to get, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend going on a weekday or a non-busy weekend morning (if that's possible). Sitting outside is wonderful, even if it's sunny! I like the food but service is not good and not all staff are friendly. We went for lunch on Fri. There was on table available outside. There was no sign to wait to be sitted. We sat and there was no sign of any waiter. They keep going back and fort but they just ignored us. Finally, my husband asked one of waiters. She said you have to go up and ask but she said that she will let them know. I saw that she went and told them. Still no one came to talk to us, give us menu or serve us. We left. NEW Owners really turned this place around. Lattes and mimosas came out in 5 minutes, for maye 10 minutes later. Pancakes, chicken salad sandwich, and egg sandwiches are all great. Crepe was good, too, but could use some extra sauce or maybe a balsamic drizzle or crema on top. Wait staff was perfect as was ambiance. Sat down and waited 30 minutes and no server ever showed up despite the cafe not being busy at the time. So let me start off by saying I love this place. The service has always been spotty and not friendly. I can see with the new owners that has yet to change. So why do I love this place ? Basically because it has so much potential! The food is good even if it feels a touch over priced for a cafe. Of course I wouldn't say that if the hospitality level was better. Being it's a new owner and new staff I can understand there's going to be a learning curve. I hope they take into consideration working out the timing of the food. We where a big table and unfortunately they where not able to get our order in in a way that would have us all eating together. Multiple things were forgotten drinks were definitely not refilled or asked if we needed more of. And the staff was kind of rude. At best I would call them cold. We where 7 people and the dishes came out about five minutes apart, after waiting 30 min for the first dish. I definitely won't come back with my family again. But I have been coming to the café for a number of years by myself and I would say coming alone is the only way to manage their timing. Also ordering ahead and picking up might work but I would be worried about the food being cold. Like I said the place has so much potential but it's there needs to be training and hospitality standards need to go up. My husband and I went Saturday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. It was perfect weather for outdoor seating. They have umbrellas for shading tables & we were had a large tree nearby also. The staff and servers were friendly and attentive. My husband had Melissa's Goat & Date crepe and I had the Mediterranean Chicken Spinach salad. We were both happy with our meals and portion sizes. This is a quaint little cafe tucked away in a small historic town off of Union Mill Road. In the 20 years I've lived in Centreville, I never knew Historic Clifton even existed! We went on a Sunday around 4pm so the cafe was fairly empty with plenty of parking spaces in their back lot. My friend and I were able to find seats with no problems at all. My chai tea latte was foamy and creamy, not particularly the best chai tea latte I've had but certainly not the worst. Total was $4.25. They have plenty of lattes offered on the drink menu which I would try next time I'm back. They also offer an assortment of crepes, sandwiches and salads as well. Their dessert items did not look as fresh since they were wrapped in plastic Saran wrap. i feel like they probably have day old items there so I didn't bother to try. Pre-COVID I've visited this place a few times and loved it. Haven't been in a few years and wanted to take my family there and support a local business during these times. They had a sign there saying they were short staffed and there would be long wait times. I appreciated there honesty with that. Our server was very professional and nice. Just due to them being short staffed we weren't checked on for drink refills at all. The food did have lots of flavor, however our food was not hot at all, just barely luke warm. We were waiting awhile to get it due to their staff shortage. We just wanted to get some food in us and go. We also ordered the Hearty Mac & Cheese and received a regular Mac & Cheese. At first, they told us we could come in an hour, but something must have opened up, because then they said that we could come immediately. The space inside is very tight, but it's adorably decorated. I ordered the Bittner's Bliss with no grilled chicken (goat cheese, spinach, artichokes, and lemon aioli). It was really good, but I wish it had come with a little side salad or even just some microgreens on top to add some freshness to the dish. Our waitress was so sweet, constantly apologizing for the delay on our food (the kitchen was very busy). I live in Clifton and like to patronize local businesses as much as possible. It's been a few years since I've been to the café but now that the world is opening up, a friend and I decided to stop by after a hike. Service: The server was young and nice but service not good at all. We were sitting outside and perhaps she was handling too many tables inside . It took us 25 to 30 minutes to get a simple breakfast sandwich and a bagel. There were plenty of tables outside but maybe nobody wanted them. They were full of dirty dishes and food for most of the time we were there. During that whole time we were never checked on. You would think when customers are sitting there 25 to 30 minutes they might need a refill, which we did. Finally after we got our food we asked for the check and a drink refill. I was still eating but my friend was done, and the server took away all of our silverware and napkins. I didn't necessarily need silverware for my bagel but it would've been nice to leave my table setting where it was. Several customers were waiting outside and then we saw a few groups leave since they were not able to get a table. We spent over an hour chatting which was nice. Had we been a little more of a hurry it would've been super annoying to wait around this long for a mediocre bagel and egg sandwich. Me and my friend were waiting for ten minutes at the entrance waiting to be seated it wasn't even busy. and the waiter completely looked at us but ignored us. We ordered from the brunch menu and I would like to say that they didn't disappoint. The iced latte I ordered (Creme Brûlée) was delicious and on point in hitting my caffeine spot. After 15 minutes without receiving menus or water, I went inside to talk to an employee who said someone would be right out. 15 minutes later my husband went inside and had a similar conversation. After 40 minutes with no menus or water I went inside and asked the employee I spoke to if they were going to send anyone to our table. He just looked away from me and kept cleaning menus. My fiancé and I happened upon this restaurant on our way to view some houses. We loved the area and just had to stop in the Clifton Cafe to check it out. We loved it! It's a cozy little restaurant with a great outdoor seating area. It was a little chilly outside that day, so we opted to eat inside. There are a few tables inside, and they're spaced pretty closely together, but we still had enough room to eat comfortably. Our server was so friendly. She was so attentive and took great care of us. She made sure to take our orders as soon as we were ready. Our food was delicious. We both decided to order crepes for our lunch. I ordered the salmon crepe, and my fiancé ordered the blueberry-rhubarb butter crepe. We both finished all of our food, and we were so happy and satisfied. My salmon crepe had a little bit of a salty taste, which was great and worked perfectly with the taste from the salmon. It was great! I really enjoyed our stop here! read more

The staff is welcoming and friendly, the food is out of this world and my latte was superb. The space is cozy and super clean. I also noticed frequent hand washing, which was very comforting. They do tea parties, which have to be arranged ahead of time, so that's something I'd love to come back to experience. I'm so glad I stopped by to experience the awesomeness of Clifton Cafe.
