It stopped working in June of 2024. They came out the next day to look at it (which we were very grateful for). However, the problem was electrical, so they did not resolve it (we had to bring in an electrician). I was shocked when I saw the bill for the service visit. I expected the $100 through the door fee that they told us about over the phone and expected to pay a little more to diagnose the problem/for the hourly rate. However, I was charged for the $100 service fee, plus another $63 for them to "Rinse off condenser coil water only." That is exactly what the line item says in the bill. I'm not happy that they charged me $63 to use my hose and water rinse off cotton from the unit. Actually, I had rinsed off the condenser the day before, which is even more frustrating. Honestly, if they labeled it in the bill as their hourly service fee rate, I wouldn't be as upset. In the end, the issue was electrical, so they likely couldn't have fixed the AC anyway. It was just frustrating that they charged so much to use my hose and water to spray something off for a few minutes when I could have done this myself for free.

Let's first admit that few of us enjoy spending money on house things that are basically invisible. Myself included. 2. I bought my house in Park Township a year ago, and I still don't have furniture in the living room. The plan was to tackle those purchases this summer, but alas, my a/c went out. ‍ So I called the company my folks' have used for decades, and the experience was lackluster at best. 3. So I called B&D for an estimate--and they were here within 2 days! Chad was super helpful, answered a bunch of questions, then sent a straightforward quote with options. He was wonderful to deal with. 4. After choosing a/c and furnace pair, B&D scheduled the installs quickly and as promised. Dan and Jon arrived on time, were friendly and respectful of my home, made sure everything functioned correctly, and made sure I knew how to use the new system. They were fabulous. 5. Lastly, if you don't know, purchasing a/c with a furnace qualifies for rebates. And we're talking serious rebates if you're willing pay more up front (and hold off on living room furniture a bit longer ). Plus I didn't even have to deal with that paperwork process myself--Kim handles it with ease. She was awesome. The Baumann and DeGroot team is simply amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Mast We never heard…read moreof Mast before we started our search for a company to install HVAC in our home. We built our home 24 years ago (a cabin) so everything in the house is already finished which made their job even harder. We looked at four companies, Mast was the most responsive and professional. Mast also was very competitive on price. Kelly was he representative that returned our call. He came out within a day or two, evaluated our job and submitted their proposal. It was the most detailed and easy to understand of all the proposals we received. Kelly also coached me through purchase decisions. He made sure we were buying the right equipment vs. the equipment they would make more money on... Example: I was willing to put in a 3-ton air conditioner. He educated me on why that was not the best decision and we put in a 2-ton. He could have easily sold me a three ton for more money. I really appreciated his honesty. Kelly was also very responsive every time I called for any reason. The crew... Jorge was the foreman. He did a great job, knew his stuff and had two helpers that worked very hard. One day Jorge was not on site. He had to visit another job. His two helpers worked very hard all day, but after they left, I looked at the work and noticed some things that I felt were just not right (I'm not an expert but I do have some building experience). I felt that when Jorge returned the next day, I'd have to ask him to do a couple things over. Turns out I didn't have to say a word. Jorge noticed the issue right away and started working on it/fixing it before I ever mentioned to him. I really appreciated the pride he took in his work. All in all, working with Mast was a great experience. Honest, dedicated, hard-working and the list goes on. Based on my experience I would highly recommend them if you need services they provide. UNTRUSTWORTHY and POOR Customer Service…read more Our five year old Combi Gas Water Heater/Furnace system with green technology, recommended and installed by Mast, is now discontinued and seemingly defective, leaving us with a flooded and damaged newly finished lower level. Within only months of each other, two flooding incidents occurred from this unit. The first incident, there was no significant damage-luckily we caught it in time. Coils inside the unit cracked which allowed water to pour out like a garden hose. We had absolutely no idea something like this could even occur! After the first flood, Mast was slow to engage while we were without hot water for 5 days. WE had to call for updates while we waited for next steps. Frustrated, we wrote an unfavorable review. We received a call the next day that was unprofessional. We were also told at this time that our unit was discontinued. My husband wanted to give them another chance, so we sincerely tried to work with Mast on a different replacement model, due to future part concerns. Mast offered us assurances and a part replacement, OR, they offered us the same discontinued unit, sitting on their floor at their site, NEW, they said. We would pay the labor. We declined to go thru reinstallation of another discontinued unit, so the part was replaced and we moved forward. Only a few weeks prior to this incident our unit was serviced with routine maintenance by Mast. In July, only months since the first flood, the second flood occurred. SAME ISSUE. This time it was much much worse! Even now, with a water shut-off valve installed, within MINUTES, nearly half of our newly finished 1500 SF lower level was significantly damaged-furniture, carpet, pad, drywall, paint, baseboards and trim. Again, no hot water for days and we're left with a long and costly replacement, restoration process ahead of us.
