And a large variety of them too. Someone back there is spending hours preparing artisanal grade pies with buttery flakey crusts, and fresh fruits. I had the rhubarb, the third one I've tried on this trip to Wisconsin, and this one really stood out. I could actually taste the rhubarb. Usually it seems to be the trend to hide the taste with strawberries. My wife's apple pie was similarly excellent. The apples were cooked perfect, with just a bit of crunch. Oh we did have dinner, I had a dark bread sandwich and I forget what the meat was. It was good as I recall. My wife had the chicken, bacon, and tomato salad which was great. The interior is dated but in good condition and larger than the exterior would lead you to believe. Coachlight has frequent all you can drink specials for many Wisconsin televised sports event. Plenty of space and televisions for watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers or Nascar. Bartenders/owners Dan & Nikki always offer a pleasant greeting and are inviting to talk to. Chances are more likely than not you'll be offered the shake of the day or the opportunity to shake for a shot. Coachlight has a full kitchen with all the expected bar food offerings. They offer a Sunday broasted chicken & Friday fish fry. All offerings are very reasonably priced. Bar food opinions can vary greatly but Coachlight generally seems to get it right more often than not. If you're staying at the nearby Shawano Co. campground, Coachlight is a worth while venture from the campsite. I've brought my children many times for an afternoon/dinner bite to eat and returned in the evening for adult fun. Don't let the rough exterior scare you away as looks can be deceiving. I had seen positive things about this restaurant on Facebook, going in my expectations were high. The end result was expectations not being met. I phoned ahead and was able to make a reservation. When my group pulled into the parking lot at 5PM, it wasn't full. This is generally not a good sign for a Saturday night. When we entered, it looked old school (big bar, televisions and a pool table). I generally see this as a positive indicator. The drinks we received were well made and the bartender was a nice guy. He gave us menus and we were waited on in the bar area. Both waitresses we were served by were very neutral in having us as guests. No extra chit chat. After ordering, we were directed to our table and were told we could go to the salad bar. I was looking forward to the salad bar as other social media raved about it. It was nice and all the items were fresh; however, it wasn't very big. The soup, available on the salad bar, was very good. The homemade dinner rolls were also good. The main meal is where things went backwards. One dining partner had a scallops and ribeye combo. When it was delivered to the table, the scallops looked pathetically small and the steak looked paper thin. Unfortunately, my impression of it being bad was what my dining partner experienced. They described the scallops of having a fish stick taste. They were disappointed in the meal. Another dining partner had the beef tip special. It was well prepared and was quite a large portion. It was an enjoyable meal. As luck would have it, myself and another dining partner both ordered the Triple O ribeye, a 16 oz cut covered with mushrooms, onions and peppers. We each ordered the garlic mashed potatoes. When it was delivered to our table it looked good. Sadly, while tasting good the potatoes weren't very warm. Having to move the topping to find the steak, I found my first piece a little difficult to cut, but prepared to order. After a few bites and after the final waitress appearance, I told my dining partner that I did not think my steak was a ribeye. They said they were thinking the same thing. Although generous in size, it appeared to be sirloin steak and while well-prepared, lacking flavor. Having eaten a good chunk, I decided not to make an issue but found the steak disappointing. If you look at my other reviews, I think you find them to be pretty generous. After contemplating this for a couple of days, I'd say people may want to try another restaurant when looking for a quality supper club experience.

As usual, as we arrived for our most recent visit, the parking area was overflowing. So was the bar area. We squeezed in and quickly caught the eye of an attentive bartender. I got a round of drinks and our number. We looked over menus, caught the same bartender and soon had our waitress find us for our order. A second round of drinks and we were informed we could go to our table in the dining room. We enjoyed the well stocked salad bar and a bowl of hearty, creamy chicken and dumpling soup. Like gizzards and liver pate? They have it. The delivery of our meals was timed perfectly. I enjoyed my ribeye and baked potato. The steak had great flavor and was prepared as ordered. My dining partner enjoyed their chicken Parmesan. We each took food home! Is it busy? Will you have to wait? Yes, to both. Is the service good? It always has been for me. Is the food good? No complaints and the prices are reasonable too.
