Every time we come here there is an issue. Look I get it we don't live here full time but we come frequently til enough to be treated with some respect. Taking peoples orders before us when we sat down first is just rude. And it wasn't 1 table it was 3... we needed to get back to work and this just puts everyone in a bad mood. The food here is so so good and very affordable. We stop after every camping trip in the area, have always had great service and relatively fast. They are usually full of people and has a nice "Mom and Pop" feel to it. Last time we went we had our dog in the car and decided to get carry out. The waitress took our order and offered to bring it out to our car, then offered a free piece of pie for waiting (not too long, they were busy)! Will be back for more! Always a great food experience here! Food it too notch, fast, and reasonably priced! We went around usually the worst time to go to a restaurant, lunch time. But, here, it's not an issue. The waitress was right there, ready to take our order. My wife was asking the waitress which is better, the Haddock or the Smelt (their Friday Fish Special). Instead of trying to explain it, she went to the kitchen and brought out a small plate with both fish on it, so she could try them. That was unexpected, but greatly appreciated. She ended up getting the scallops with a baked potato, and she said it was fantastic. Most dinners come with the salad bar. I got the 2 egg, 3 meat omelette with 3 slices of their French toast, made with homemade bread. So good! Unfortunately, we filled up before we could get to pies. Fresh made! Lemon Meringue, Cherry, Berry (not sure), Apple and a few others. They also have low / no sugar pies (when they haven't sold out) which is especially nice, if you have a diabetic family member, like we do. Came here for lunch on our way out of the area. We both had the beef tip lunch plate. 2 big piles of tender beef chunks, mashed potatoes and gravy that tasted like they were made from scratch, and some white bread on the side. A very tasty and filling lunch! My boyfriend also had some chicken dumpling soup which he liked a lot. We also shared a piece of homemade raspberry cream pie. We also got a little peek at the AYCE broasted or baked chicken Sunday special. Woah! Looked yummy! This isn't a fancy place and if you blink, you might drive right past. Had a relaxed lunch here on Wednesday, 8/22, after a hectic morning. I ordered the hearty Three Meat Omelette featuring bacon, ham and sausage, hash browns, thick homemade raisin toast with butter and coffee. A friend had the Veggie Omelette with cottage fries, raisin toast and coffee. Our food was delicious and the service was very good. We both declined pie (trying to be good), but they looked amazing. Will save room for pie next time. We will certainly return to Red Rooster! read more

Chicken sandwich tough. 2nd soda should have been complimentary for the excess wait but no, charged for both sodas. New cook in kitchen with very little to no help from trainer. Bottom line....the customer service should come before forcing a new person to try to keep up with more than he could handle. People to the left and right waited as long if not longer for their food as well. Won't be returning. read more

I've eaten here a few times now, each time for their Friday fish fry. I always get the all you can eat haddock, and it is gooood! The portion sizes are excellent! Usually I can only eat two or three pieces. They also have a great salad bar that features a variety of delicious pasta salads! Do you love pie! Of course you do. Who doesn't love pie! They have great pie! Many selections, and all made from scratch! Service here is excellent! Very friendly! Exactly what you expect from small town hospitality. Stopped here on the way back home from a camping trip up north. Me and my friends were very pleased with the quality of food. I had the broasted chicken AUCE(All you Can Eat) dinner, they had burgers. Service was great, they had mistakenly delivered the wrong food to our table but took care of getting the order corrected. For our troubles they gave us a free slice of pie. The French Silk pie was good. If I'm driving through again I'll be sure to stop. read more

Their food is amazing! We have gone here multiple times for breakfast, and their Sunday chicken lunch! On Sunday's they give you this cinnamon roll once you sit down, that is delicious, and sometimes I fight with my boyfriend on it, even though there is one for each of us. I like that they have a variety of coffee creamers on the table so you can try something different. l always order the homemade bread for my toast, you don't even need jam with it, bc it tastes so good. The food is all homemade; which is rare to find. The broasted chicken, homemade from scratch with real potatoes, and stuffing was so delicious we had it catered for our father's funeral, and everyone was commenting how delicious the food was, and asking where it came from! I've had their fish fry as well, and sadly don't make it up that way enough for Fridays. read more

Not a good experience. The fries weren't done they forgot the coleslaw that I had to pay extra for. Waitress never brought the beverage. Hamburger was suppose to be on a bakery bun and it was on a plain hamburger bun. Waitress served the bowl of soup 15 minutes before the rest of us got our food. After serving the rest of the food she didn't come back to the table until she gave us the bill and the entire time she acted as if we were interrupting her. read more

I have pictures on my phone how when it was Carol's, I ordered an omelet, more than once, and it came out burnt to piss along with the toast, hash browns, pretty much garbage, The waitress just laughed, and I asked her how she could even serve it to customers, she should have dumped it in front of whoever made it and demanded a whole new plate.
