Whenever making a trip to Breckenridge, CO I always try to take pastries back with me on my way back to the city. I hadn't been to Clint's yet and the smell of fresh coffee caught my senses. It was a chilly day and hot chocolate sounded yummy. They have menu boards up on the wall with different coffee and hot cocoa choices. I am so glad they had milk alternatives here for my cocoa . On the counter they have fresh baked coffee cakes , chocolate cakes cup cakes , pecan pies, and other delectable offerings such as brownies and cookies. They had a day old sale basket and in the past at framers markets that was my thing , never had a pastry I had to turn down! The sales counter person explained that the chocolate pecan pie slice I snagged wasn't a day old at all , it was just smaller than they normally sell , and discounted the price to a $1.50 that day. However on the counter across from ordering I saw they a had "FREE PASTRIES" basket and I just thought was the most amazing thing for a small business to give extras or leftovers rather than throw away product. A super cute coffee and sweet/pastry shop. I'm gfree and was impressed with their selection. They always have at least 2-3 gfree options (cookies, muffins, cupcake). Went the other day for an apple pecan spiced muffin - best I've ever had! So I went in today, unfortunately they didn't have those but they did have a blueberry lemon poppyseed gfree muffin...yum! Didn't even order a coffee here. Waited in line for 15 minutes while the 2 people behind the counter ignored customers -- except for one -- who was clearly a regular. What made us leave without coffee in hand though is one of the women kept running her hands through her greasy hair over the coffee and food prep area. Really good cinnamon roll. Iced coffee SUCKED. Tasted terrible. I think it was the nitro blend as they didn't have regular iced coffee. I just went thirsty and threw it out. They had a private, single bathroom for paying customers which was nice. Prices were steep - $10 for 1 cinnamon roll and iced coffee - and they asked if you wanted to add gratuity....for them grabbing a cinnamon roll I would've been happy to do myself. read more

We have made multiple trips to Clint's Bakery while in Breckenridge over the course of the week. The bagel sandwiches were good and are downstairs at the back of the shop. The cinnamon rolls and cupcakes are da bomb. I didn't have a cookie but my group devoured them and said they were excellent as well as the banana bread. read more

Well, I'm taking a sec out of my vacation to bump this here rating up. As it stand at the time of writing I only see 3.5 stars. This is WAY better than 3.5 stars... First, let's cover customer service. It's sufficient. Some employees are super friendly, others are pretty indifferent about your presence. But honestly, this is one of those type of 'grunge' style cafe/bakeries where it wouldn't be as good if they were a fake friendly. Everything we ordered came out perfectly, and everyone was very attentive to what we asked/requested, regardless of attitude. This place is split, where you order your food downstairs, pay, then order your coffee/pastry upstairs. The coffees my wife and I got were delicious. Probably the best we had during our few days in Breck (that doesn't say much, because we only hit like four places, but it does speak to the deliciousness). Our food was amazing. The bagels are perfect, and as a sandwich are not so thick the bagel overpowers the filling, but not so thin that you wonder if there's even a bagel there. Even my three year old ate his whole bacon/egg/cheese on croissant, and if you know anything about three year olds, that's a huge compliment! As for vibe, it's an awesome 'grunge' type vibe. Everything is being made right there, the employees are all working and bustling, and it's very clean. There are a couple tables outside in the back and a couple inside. Not great to sit and eat in the winter I suppose, but we came in summer and ate our foods down by the stream. Honestly, it's a five star place in my book. I recommend you come here. read more

Clint's Bakery and Coffee has to separate areas. One area is more of a coffee shop with a bakery and the downstairs area is a small diner type place. Both areas provide excellent service. We stopped by twice during our vacation. Once to order to go coffee and a second time for breakfast. The coffee was hot and fresh both times that we stopped by. Since we ordered black coffee we used the serve yourself area. For breakfast we ordered a Rainbow Lake breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and a tomato feta croissant. The Rainbow Lake sandwich has egg, spinach, tomato and Swiss cheese. We loved them both. read more

I got the Bhakti Chai and really enjoyed it! Although it wasn't as potent as I was hoping, it was a great drink for a cloudy day. It seemed a little small for $6 but then again it's Breckenridge. The food was also really good! I was surprised by how normal the vegan cupcake taste (wink, wink). Hopefully if I come back, the chai (trying it hot next time) will be better. Clin'ts has the best baked goods in Breck. But... the owner might be the rudest person in Breck. She never smiles. She is not friendly to guests. She acts like your business is a burden to her. The younger staff is friendly when the owner isn't there. The owner often will ask 'Would you like to tip?" during the payment process... opposed to letting me add the tip myself. If you want great baked goods and don't care about service, head to Clint's. If you want amazing service, better atmosphere and a larger food menu, there are other places in Breck that appreciate your business. We ordered a piece of pecan pie and a Large Americano. Received the pecan pie and an "iced" americano. I told her I'd ordered a Large Americano and she gave me a small one...because, in her words, that was closer to the price of the iced drink that she charged me for. My wife wanted a pice of their "World Famous" carrot cake, but was told there was one piece left from the previous cake that had to sell before she would cut into the new one. When my wife asked about the size of the Americano I'd received, she did offer to give me the iced drink she'd mistakenly made, but the reality is, that is not what I ordered or wanted. We own a small business and two simple things would have changed this review from a 2 to a 5...cut the new cake and give the customer what they ordered! read more

Clint's is so good that we came here every day of our Breckinridge stay. Good coffee, amazing pastries, and really good breakfast sandwich options (their lunch menu looks good too). The vibe and interior is chill and unique; locals obviously love this place. Everything we got here was great: bagels, breakfast sandwich (with a veggie sausage option, thank you!), lattes, pastries. Small place without a lot of indoor seating, but they make good coffee and have a nice selection of bakery items. You'll likely enter from the Main Street entrance but you can go out the back and relax with your coffee while sitting by the Blue River. We both had the Almond Joy coffee and we each had a cookie. The only thing I missed was they don't put whip cream on the fancy coffee's, or at least they didn't on ours. read more

Reviews about rude service are accurate. Woman told us dogs were not allowed and then proceeded to greet and welcome other dogs (not service animals) into the bakery while my wife waited outside with our dogs. Food really wasn't special and certainly not worth dealing with extremely rude workers who rushed me while ordering and took her sweet time in getting it to me. If you get the middle aged woman that acts like your grumpy parent be ready to be treated condescendingly like she's doing you a favor by taking your burdensome order. One time I went in and asked for four pieces of carrot cake to go and was scolded and told if I wanted that many I should order a full cake a day in advance. Sorry I haven't seen the rulebook. I apologize for buying too many pieces of cake! More recently I was made to feel like an idiot for ordering a kids ice cream in a waffle cone for my two boys. What the Heck was I thinking! Always a stop-in when I'm in the area. Had lunch the other day and ordered the Margarita salad while hubs ordered the Turkey Brie sandwich. The salad had a ton of mozzarella cheese on it; which was great! I just wish they used roma tomatoes but it might not be in season right now. Had a bite of the turkey brie and it was the right amount of brie and turkey. Brie is a pretty mild cheese but it wasn't over-powered or over-powering. Lunch prices are affordable which is also a plus. Also stopped in for some ice cream and was able to try a few flavors before deciding on raspberry cheesecake and a single of peanut butter fudge. All their ice cream flavors are good so you can't really go wrong. They have other baked goods like cookies, cupcakes, cakes, brownies...etc. My next visit will be to try a cupcake. We got 2 chai lattes, a hot chocolate, and a vanilla latte. They overall all tasted decent, the only odd thing was when we received our first two drink, we noticed that it was luke warm at best. Given that it was below 30 degrees outside, we really just wanted something hot but it didn't meet our expectations. I've always had a good experience here for coffee or pastries. We stopped in tonight to grab a piece of carrot cake, which did not disappoint! It was everything Carrot cake should be... dense, moist, chunky with "stuff", and of course frosted and layered. Personally, I could've used more frosting, but I'm sure for most people, it's perfect. We've also enjoyed their vegan muffins and blueberry buckle cake. They have a nice variety of ice cream flavors, and I've heard they do a good lunch. read more

I went in craving a salmon bagel sandwich, and it hit the spot. I thought it was really good, the guy put extra salmon, which I thought was so generous, because I watched him make it. He could have stopped it was pretty loaded, but he didn't, it was delicious. I also ordered some pastries from the dessert side, and they were so really good. I got the vegan chocolate chip banana bread, it was perfect. We also went back the next day and got more things, and they all hit the spot.
