I'm so glad to have finally found a place with great eyelash service in Louisville. If you love getting eyelash extensions like me and are a Louisvillian, you know there aren't a whole lot of options to choose from. Having previous issues getting my eyelashes damaged and causing eye infections, I feel like I can trust this place to keep my eyes healthy (yet fabulous at the same time!) It took a few phone calls to get the appointment booked, but I was pretty surprised they were able to squeeze me in for a couple days later. Janna, the owner, is such a sweetheart. She was so friendly and gentle while providing my service. Heck, I was so relaxed I even fell asleep a couple of times! She revamped my lashes to make them look natural, yet full. I really appreciated that she took the time to wax my eyebrows for free, and even filled them in! I've been going to see Hannah at Clique for about a year to tint and wax my brows. As a ginger, my eyebrows are hard to see without a little assistance. I also have extremely sensitive skin, and before I moved here, my last estecician was using the hard or sensitive wax (no strips of material needed to yank the hair off). It's thicker than soft wax, and really gets on there to grab just the hair instead of skin and hair. Way less pain and redness when you leave. It was a challenge to find places that offered this method. A friend had suggested checking out Clique, and I've never been disappointed. It's a very cute store front on Frankfort Avenue. Non-metered spots, and I've always found a spot, regardless of the time of day. The front desk staff is always friendly and ready to talk to while you wait. Super clean facilities. Hannah is really sweet and funny. I look forward to my visits with her to talk about reality TV shows. She answers any questions I have and works with what I want. Truth: I am lazy with my eyebrows and would much rather have someone do them for me. We have all been there after we go to a nail salon that does eyebrow waxing and walk out with pencil thin awkward eyebrows! When we moved to the Clifton area this came up on my search for waxing-and I am so glad I chose this place for the next 2 years! I never stuck with one technician-not because any of them are bad at what they do, it was just my schedule and when I had to make appointments. My schedule did not allow me to stay with one lady all the time. I had the owner before; I cannot recall her name, very pretty blonde lady. She is personable and easy to work with and talk too. Kate is the one I had the most-she is just as personable-tells you about her dogs etc. Another BONUS-they let you bring your dog in, I never saw big dogs, just smaller lap dogs. They would love when I brought Bella in, Kate would get upset with me if I didn't bring her in. They do others things besides waxing-they perform make up services, they own the tanning salon 2-3 doors down. (They also do spray tans). This is a good quality store with quality staff and owner. They didn't tell me that they only scheduled me for 15 minutes therefore they refused to take me. They should of told me before I hustled to show up there. This place is the WORST. I love Clique and have used most of their services. Their staff truly cares about making you look your best and I appreciate that they're always willing to spend time with me to answer any questions I may have. Specifically, Janna is incredible at brows-a tint and wax can completely change your look. When I moved here from Los Angeles I was very worried about finding someone who could make my brows uniform (one has an arch and the other doest). Once I found Clique I have never gone anywhere else because they're perfect every time. I've been coming here for at least 2 or 3 years. The first time I came, Janna took care of me and my overplucked eyebrows. She told me not to pluck them, wait for them to grow, and come back and see her and she would make them beautiful. That was the last time I picked up tweezers. Since then I have completely outsourced my brows to her and her team. Every single one of them are so personable and friendly and great at what they do! I have also gotten makeup and spray tans and have been happy every time. They really take their art seriously and go the full mile. From tinting to tweezing to threading and waxing. If you think you have sensitive skin, they have a wax for that. Obviously I'm a fan. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I've been in to Clique twice now and had really great experiences both times. The first time I got waxes and a lash tint. The second time I did wax only. Both women I saw (including Janna, the owner) were fantastic. Super friendly, engaging, but not conversational to the point of it being uncomfortable. The waxes are quick and thorough. The lash tint is noteworthy particularly because it is the only time in my many many experiences of lash tinting where the process was painless. I've always suffered through my eyes stinging and watering so that I had several weeks of not having to worry over my blonde eyelashes. I don't know whether they have some non-stinging miracle product or are just better at applying the tint, but whatever it was, it made a HUGE difference. The only sticking point I have with Clique is that it's quite pricey. However, I went to European Wax Center, which is close to my job, between visits to Clique, and it made me super aware of how much more thorough and competent the women are at Clique. Also, because of its location on a busy street and sharing space with multiple other business in that block, I'd worried that it would be hard to find parking, but I've never actually had any problems getting a space there and usually find parking right in front. I will absolutely be going back there and am so glad to have found a place that is both fast and competent. read more

I was ready to relax for a few minutes and enjoy the services (lash tint, brow tint and a brow wax) that I mad my appt. for. I was very excited since this place is right down the street from my house. I was greeted by the anesthetist who was very nice. Then it took a turn. I was lead to this tiny corner with just a curtain to separate us from the lobby.On the chair/table it was dirty and had hair and god knows what but I rolled with it. I laid back and did my best to try and relax and enjoy a bit of pampering. Then it started to sound like a Regina George convention in the lobby and a loud one at that. Speaking as someone with PTSD this was incredibly nerve racking. Then I hear them offering shots of liquor to someone. Frankly I won't be going back. So here I am examining my brows at home for the second time around after getting my brows done at Clique and I can successfully say that it is just as bad, if not worse, than the first time. I made my appointment specifically not with the girl I had the first time because when I left my eyebrows looked worse after I left than they did when I went in. Looking at my eyebrows right now they are very poorly waxed underneath the brow as well as very poorly waxed in between my eyebrows. I should not have to go back and RE TWEEZE my eyebrows after getting a wax job the same day. NEVER. The other thing that really made me angry was that the girl rushed through my appointment because I was running a little late. Now I know being punctual is something that I should have done, and I will own up to that, but I would have much rather the technician talk to me and say "hey, I have another appointment right after you would you mind waiting or coming back at a later time" so that she could do her job proficiently. Instead I was told as soon as I walked into the waxing room "I have to do the best I can in 4 minutes I hope you're okay with that". I wish I would have realized how unacceptable that was at the time because I would have told her to not even bother. My left brow is now severely shorter than the right and the wax job is terrible. I can understand if she had someone right after me but I believe that if she would have let them know she would be with them in 5 minutes they wouldn't have minded and she would have been able to tend to my brows efficiently instead of making me feel rushed and now making me look like a fool until my brows can grow back. Very poor customer service on that end. Like I said, I've tried Clique 2 times only due to the fact my normal lady books up months in advance and I needed somebody for the in between time. Now I understand why she books up so far in advance, because she's simply that awesome. I gave this place 2 stars because the ambiance is nice and the appointment setting process is easy and the front desk girl is very polite and helpful. But the technicians here are not that great. Snap, Crackle, Ouch! I'll admit I preen, and honestly a girl should know, when getting a Brazilian, where a good place to go is. I was recommended by a couple to check out Clique because of how great the services were. A couple you may ask? Well yes, the boyfriend wanted to endorse how much he enjoyed the finish waxed product and also to mention that while waiting for your appointment you receive a glass of champagne. There are different rates for first time clients, I am not certain why, but it was not much more. I made my first appointment a few days before my bikini-clad vacation, because I was not certain if after the appointment there would be bruising or irritation involved. My appointment was very informal and polite, as I believe a Brazilian should be. I actually went with another girlfriend who also stated she had a pleasant experience for her first time. The total time of my appointment from champagne to cashing out was about 45 minutes. Luckily, as they say the appointment was less painful then expected. In fact, after a couple minutes I was fine. To my surprise the next day I had little redness and no swelling or bruising. My waxing lasted about 8 weeks and I went back again for my birthday. Surprising the appointment did not last as long and the experience was even less painful. I was told you kinda get use to the experience after a couple times. Clique offer's a makeup section in addition to waxing services. Clique is boutique size, especially the wax rooms, but a little wiggling around gets you in the right spot. Customer service is great too, I am always offered water or champagne when I enter and everyone offers small talk while you wait. My Esthetician even remembered the conversation from the last time she saw me. Considering my boyfriend now too enjoys the finished product of Clique's services I will definitely be back! read more

I couldn't have asked for a better experience than I had with Jayda at Clique. The location is clean, elegant, and quiet. The room for waxing is small, but perfectly adequate for their needs. Jayda herself is friendly, personable, and very calm, which is important when you're nervous about what can be a painful procedure. That being said, I've never had a more comfortable waxing experience. (They do offer a numbing cream that you can purchase and use before your experience, but I honestly can't see that it would be necessary unless you're really, really nervous.) And so fast! I prefer threading because it hurts less and I am not red or irritated afterwards. The office staff is also very friendly. Cons- Make an appt, they are usually busy and don't have walk in availability. Also it is pricey. Eyebrow thread was $26! Yikes...but I would say it was worth it to get that much attention to detail. I was a couple days out from going to the beach when I realized that I had managed to let my leg hair grow out long enough to actually wax. I figured, why let my laziness go to waste, and I went about finding a waxing place. Clique was the only place in town that was able to fit me in for a full arm, full leg, and full Brazilian on such short notice, and I'm glad that they did. The store was very bright and attractive, and the receptionist was very helpful. I applied some numbing cream while I waited for my appointment, and one of the employees offered me water or champagne. Janna waxed me, and she was very friendly during the whole process. I was mostly pleased with her work, as it was very quick and as painless as possible. When she was finished, she said to let her know if there were any missed spots, and I didn't notice any, but when I got home I did find a couple of patches of hair. Like I said though, had I noticed them then or even asked her to afterwards, I'm sure she would've happily touched it up. I actually know a girl who was fired from Clique, and I was nervous to tell her that I had gone there, thinking that she would harbor some negative feelings towards them, but her response further solidified what a great place it is. I found out about Clique Waxing Boutique through the favorable reviews online. It does rock to have a boutique that is dedicated completely to waxing services. The staff is very personable as mentioned in other reviews here and I felt completely at ease. I had a Brazillian wax as well as my underarms waxed. The atmosphere is rather relaxed, with relaxation musak playing in the background. The rooms are clean and sanitary. At that time I had given it a 4 star review . . . *Updated review* I had been a regular customer up until October 2012 with no complaints. That is when I had an unpleasant experience and I haven't been back since. I saw Kate that day I had my underarms and a Brazilian done. That day, Kate seem to be in a hurry, much more so than in my past visits. Granted I understand that the wax paper has to be ripped off quickly, but it also has to be done at a certain angle so that the skin does not tear. It's one thing to endure the pain of the hair being ripped off, but VERY painful to endure when skin goes along with it!. I honestly love the people here and the woman who waxed me was so friendly and sweet. That's why writing this review makes me a little sad. I came in for a Brazilian. She was super fast, out in 15/20 minutes and at first I thought "oh wow, that's awesome" but when I got home I realized that it wasn't a good thing. When she finished I looked over my wax and everything seemed fine, but I was also swollen so I didn't even realize that it wasn't fine until I got home. First of all, I'm very sticky down there and no matter how much I wash it will not go away...it's like super glue! Second, there are patches of hair that she missed and now I'm sitting here plucking hair by hair myself. Third and finally, it looks smooth but it doesn't feel smooth. Other times I have gotten waxed it has always come out smooth. I'm actually pretty sad because my husband is coming home from Afghanistan very soon and now I'm stuck with this. I'm trying my hardest to clean it up myself but I can't get it to feel smooth and that's upsetting. I'm going to have to end up shaving and that's disappointing after paying $60, not including my tip, so that I didn't have to deal with it for a few weeks. I honestly don't think I'll be going back, which is sad because like I said before...I really love the place. They were so nice and comforting. After many google searches, I found Clique Waxing Boutique and once I saw they use the Anastasia Beverly Hills line for eyebrow waxing, I was sold. Where did she go??) but I also see Cheryl if I need an appointment after work. Both are so friendly & have given me the best eyebrow waxes/ threading I've ever had. Pricey, but super worth it. $25 after tip. I only have 4 stars because one time I showed up for my appt & my usual lady wasn't there, and they switched me to another person (who I don't think works there any longer)... And my eyebrows got waxed so incredibly thin & uneven... And then she colored them in with a pencil so I couldn't see how bad they were until I got home! Eeeeek. Visited the salon last week to get my eyebrows shaped and it was a great experience. It was my first time getting my eyebrows shaped and waxed by a professional so I was nervous but Ashley did a great job at putting me at ease and walked me through the process really nicely. I've already set up an appointment to go back I. 4 weeks to continue getting them shaped. The only problem I had with them was the receptionist told me I could bring my eyebrow powder so they could show me how to apply it but she wasn't familiar with the specific product so she used a pencil she had that in my opinion was too dark. Not too big of a deal since the girls at Sephora showed me how to use it but it would've been nice to have a professional show me there. Definitely visit this salon! Found this boutique waxing salon from a fellow yelper and I'm glad I did. Jayda is so personable and spent time educating me about my brows. They use a method for estimating the best shape brows for your face (even taking measurements). I had the brow threading done which was my first experience with this method and it turned out just great. Since there was not wax used, my eye area was not red and irritated afterwards. I've seen Dear for face and body waxing and for eyelash extensions, and she is fabulous! I always say she should write "Yoga of the Brazilian" because she makes to process easy, sometimes recommending breathing patterns that make it less painful. She's super gentle and thorough and easy to talk to. Eyelash extensions used to make me nervous but it was pain free and came out perfectly with no maintenance problems! Love Jayda and everything about Clique Boutique! My first visit was about 3 weeks ago and before she did anything we talked about my eyebrows while she did measurements. She then showed me the measurements of where my eyebrows should begin, arch and end (something that I have never had done before). We then decided that I needed to grow my eyebrows out - which I was hesitant about because I am pretty particular about my eyebrows & can't stand seeing stray hairs! She threaded my eyebrows my first visit (per my request) and she did excellent! She encouraged me to not tweeze or trim my eyebrows in between visits so we can achieve the correct shape. I just got home from my second visit at the boutique and I can see the light in the new shape of my eyebrows! They look great and she is so quick and precise with what she does! I scheduled my appointment for 2 weeks from now (which I recommend because she does fill up quickly but seems very helpful in fitting you in) and I am anxious to see how my eyebrows have improved after that visit! Very disappointed because I love this place so much. First of all I tried calling to make an appt for 2days & couldn't get ahold of anyone & just kept getting a voicemail. When I was finally able to make an appt I was FOUR minutes late & they took another client back whose appointment was 30 minutes long. I did not have time to wait so I asked when the next available appt was & the new receptionist said they had no appts available the rest of the day. I find it hard to believe that when I was making my appt there were more than 6 time slots I could have made it for. She then proceeded to tell me I could wait around just in case someone got finished early I could be squeezed back in. I give this place 3 stars because they have been great in keeping my eyebrows looking fabulous, just bad customer service. read more
