I enjoyed how they gave me a thorough facial where they took the blackheads from my nose and their massage sculpting was like no other. I wish I had read the bad reviews before I went. Just like the other low reviews, I booked a scalp treatment ($158) but didn't get the camera analysis. I wanted to like this place because I saw so many great reviews on Yelp and TikTok, but unfortunately my experience didn't live up to the hype. I booked the facial + head spa combo for $188 because I've had a stressful month and really just wanted a relaxing day. When I first arrived, Rebecca asked how I found out about the place. I told her I saw it on Yelp and noticed all the great reviews. She mentioned that's why Yelp reviews are so important, which made me feel even more confident that I had picked a good spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rebecca, who did my facial, was very friendly both at the front desk and during the service, so I'll give credit where it's due.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, about 10-15 minutes into my facial her phone rang. The music stopped, she stepped out of the room with the door open, and I could hear her talking to a client on the phone about pricing for about 10 minutes while I was just laying there waiting. Throughout most of my facial, the door was also left slightly cracked open. Because of that, I could hear conversations happening outside in the hallway and at the front desk, which made it difficult to fully relax. At one point Rebecca was also talking with a colleague in Chinese while doing my facial, which made the experience feel less private and not as peaceful as I expected for a spa service. When she came back in after the phone call, she made a comment saying, "I can never understand Indian people, they make something so simple so difficult." That comment honestly made me uncomfortable and felt unprofessional. The facial itself didn't feel very hands-on. I'd say maybe 20-30 minutes were actual facial work, and the rest of the time I was left under a large LED mask. The first time was around 15 minutes, which was fine. The second time she placed a cooling mask on me and put the LED light over my face again and left for about 25 minutes without checking on me. I have anxiety and can be claustrophobic, so being left that long under the mask started to make me feel panicky. After the facial, I had to move to another room for the head spa. The robe provided barely fit and the hallway is open to the front desk and entrance, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable walking over while holding my things. I also had to carry my own belongings to the other room, which felt a little awkward. Another technician performed the head spa. I've had a few before, so I know what they usually feel like. I asked for gentle pressure, but it ended up being pretty rough on my scalp and shoulders. The best part of that portion was honestly just the warm towel at the end. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Both staff members were sweet overall, and I did tip them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My total came out to $208 before tip. But for the price and the expectations set by the reviews, the experience just didn't feel relaxing or worth it to me. I arrived on time and nobody was at the front for about 10 min. When I did get checked in- i had to wait another 30 min. There was no follow up on how long the wait time will be. While waiting I did see a couple of other reviews about sharing a room with someone while treatment was going on - that was fine. It was quiet and serene. I thought with the scalp treatment I was going to get my scalp analysis and that was really the selling point for me. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I also had to verify that the facial I was receiving was a deep hydrating and not a mini facial since I purchased the special in December. When it was time to "pay" the front desk, I was asked to provide a receipt even though when I checked in the other front desk person had stated mine was already paid for. Jennifer was amazing! Booked two head spa experiences, one for me and one for my mother (two separate time slots/not concurrent appointments). Jennifer was accommodating in explaining the step by step process, as requested. The treatment was great overall! At one point she warned me that the hair steamer would be hot, so I was prepared. After a few minutes I realized that the steamer was not on at all? So I called for help. The steamer was then turned on and I indeed felt the heat. When I was awoken, Jennifer assisted me to sit up and said that I should transfer rooms to get my hair dried. To my surprise there was another person/client (employee?) getting their head treatment on the bed next to me, in the same room (no divider in room.. literally same room and I saw them). I didn't even notice someone else came in, undressed, and started their treatment during mine. I'm guessing they came in during the hair steam! Regardless, it didn't bother me, but was strange (I wonder what the other woman thought when I was getting my treatment at the same time). Overall the place was clean and staff were very kind, accommodating, and have great customer service. Price-wise: I've been to other head spa in San Jose area with lower prices and similar services/customer service. Missing/Opportunity: My scalp didn't get reviewed under the camera (both before and/or after the treatment). They said it's because my scalp looked healthy. However, this should be done for ALL clients consistently show before and after and educate. I found this place because of Tic Tok... all videos showed the camera as part of the process. I visited this location 8 months ago and had a great experience but unfortunately today me and another friend did the same Hair Therapy Package and needless to say it was very underwhelming. My massage today was honestly one of the worst I've had. It felt like I was being moisturized for 30 minutes. The previous massage I had here actually felt like work was being done. I also had received a gift card last time for $20 and was hoping to use it today towards my up charge service for the hair mask I got which was $20. They asked if I could pay with Zelle or Venmo so I opted for Zelle. I tipped $20 and the worker looked at me and asked is that all you're going to tip? She then showed me a sign that says it's recommended to tip $20 for an hour of service which I guess means $20 per person per service. So we felt pressured to give another $20 tip and not cause a scene. I would rather have the cost of the service be higher rather than feeling forced to tip more money.
