I've been going to Frank's for the last three years for my vehicle inspection. They are super friendly and the work is always done quickly.

I came here for my yearly inspection and was told there was a 30 minute wait . It took quite a bit longer but they apologized and it was clear that the man inspecting the cars was going at super speed. Also, we are coming out of a pandemic ( hopefully for good ) and everyone needs to be more patient and give businesses a break! They may be short staffed and overwhelmed or just overwhelmed . Really glad I found this place because it's my new go-to for all my car needs. Went here for the first time a week ago for an oil change. I'm used to dropping off my car for the day, but they told me if I wanted to stick around for 20 minutes they could get it done right away! It took 15 minutes, tops! They also took my car a few days later to fix a squeaky belt, which was the best priced service I've ever had done in the Boston area. All I have to say is, do not go here for any exhaust repairs. They are a rip-off. Go to one of the many Lou's Custom Exhaust locations instead. There are ones in Lynn and Medford and it should be worth the trip. In 2015, I had an audible exhaust hole somewhere and my check-engine light went on a result. On 3 Dec 2015 I got my flex pipe replaced here for $824. I got a proposal at Reggie's in Chelsea first, and the price was similar. So I thought, this is what it costs for this sort of job and there is nothing I can do. I mean, I'm not an expert at this stuff and if two places give me a similar quote then I assume it's about right. Well, 2020 comes around and the flex pipe is flaking out.... again! I went to Lou's in Lynn and they asked, who did this job? They put in a low-grade "plain steel" pipe instead of a stainless steel section. For $824. Unbelievable rip-off! Lou's replaced the flex pipe AND put in a new stainless steel muffler for $475. All stainless steel, parts and labor and tax. This will likely last me for ten years or more instead of four, and at about half the cost. Well congratulations, Frank's, you made a good profit from me. You are only getting 2 stars instead of one because, well, it did indeed last 4 years so that's something right? In return, you get a customer who is rightfully putting you down online and warning others to stay away. I will also post the same thing to Google so that even more people know. Now ask yourself, is it worth the bad publicity and will you do something to make it right? read more

Disgusting and racist owner, I went to this shop based off a google search, the shop is located on a corner of a very busy intersection. I went around the block 3 times in attempt to look for a space to pull into. When I pulled in and was asking a customer waiting where I should wait, the owner came and told me "To move my fucking car, it's 100 degrees and no one has time for this bullshit" all I said was I was just trying to figure it out and get some assistance. He was just disrespectful & I'd love to pay a visit when I'm with my husband, to see if he'll talk to a woman that way. read more

I LOVE these guys. They checked out my jeep, warned me of all the issues, and took it on when I told them to fix it anyway. They found ways to save me money, and took care of the oil change and sticker! They even did a once over of some smaller things to prepare me for my trip. AND they did it quick! Frank is honest, efficient, friendly, and professional. Came in for a car inspection after being ticketed for the expiry on 11/1 (yes, one day over expiry and they ticket in Chelsea, so put a reminder in your calendar so you don't lapse like I did!). Arrived at 8 AM opening and was out at 8:10 AM, and there was one woman ahead of me. If that's not efficient, I don't know what is! $35, in and out, no upselling or frills. Frank also does oil changes, tune ups, etc. I just had my oil changed at NTB on 10/29 and they charged $103, tried to sell me repairs I didn't need, and didn't bother saying a word about my about-to-expire inspection. Strong work, NTB. In contrast, Frank quoted me in the $50 range for an oil change (synthetic mix for a Mercedes). Needless to say, I'll be returning for all of my vehicle needs. Thanks Frank! I've lived all over MA and have dealt with many auto body shops and Frank Jr. is one of the most honest and reliable people out there! I came to him with an older car and was very frank (pun intended) with me regarding the vehicle's condition and what needed to be done. Recently visited Frank's to get my car inspected. I was in and out in a matter of 10-15 minutes. Very helpful and quick service. The inspection was only $35 (standard MA inspection cost). Came in to get an oil change and so glad I did. The mechanics were fast, friendly, and did a very thorough job. I knew there was something up with my windshield washer pump and they checked it out no charge. They also pointed out some other things that need to be repaired (time for new tires and brakes before winter). They took the time to show me areas of concern without talking down to me. They also provided me with a free estimate for all the repairs but didn't pressure me to schedule the services. I know next to nothing about cars (i.e. I know how to drive one and that's about the extent of it). When my brakes started making some crazy scraping sound, I ignored it for weeks before finally admitting there was a problem and taking the car into Frank's. Thankfully they are trustworthy good people and took care of everything quickly and without breaking the bank. They even noticed that my sticker was passed due and took care of the inspection while they were fixing the brakes! They picked me up from home when my car was done so I wouldn't have to take the bus there. Frank does our MA stickers - and had a quick turnaround on some front end work (broken spring + struts) on a Ford Focus. Really quick quote, good price, and stellar service. You know how auto shops usually try to rip you off and bullshit you? These guys don't. They are fun friendly and get stuff done with great rates. One time I was supposed to pick up my car after work but I got caught on the phone and it was about 15 mins after their closing. They waited up for me. I feel bad for being that person. They took care of it on the spot and didn't charge me. Just trying to help me out and be good to one of the locals. I really appreciated that.
