First time coming to clos for an event and it was so fun! It was a wine tasting event in their basement. It was my first time seeing the expanded space. For being a tasting event I was worried it would feel really crowded but they spaced out people going into the event and the actual tables were well situated so it didn't feel crowded. They also provided jamon and cheese which was a really nice surprise! The downstairs space also sells some snacks and homegoods. My friend and I went to Clos Wine Shop on a Saturday evening with our two dogs. I had read the positive reviews of this wine shop, and we always love to go to places that are dog friendly. The shop was packed on a Saturday night. We had planned to sit on the patio but it was full, so luckily our furry friends were welcomed indoors. The place was small but comfortable. There is a self-service station for water, a few tables, and a small bottle shop with other treats to buy, primarily tinned fish. Anyway, for a small shop, I felt they had a decent selection of wines by the glass: 5 reds and 5 whites. The service was friendly and very good. They were able to give us a good description of the wines on the menu. My friend tried a couple of the whites and found one she really liked. I enjoyed the Syrah Blend. However, I do wish that they had something fuller and dryer that I could have had for my next glass. We shared a cheese board and a bag of the black truffle chips. We were hungry so I do wish there had been a bit more cheese or charcuterie to choose from, though the truffle chips were delicious. I purchased a few bags to take with me. My friend bought a bottle of wine that she had been enjoying to take with her. I noticed that if you buy a bottle from them and drink it there, they charge a corkage fee. There may be some regulation I don't understand, but I never pay a corkage feel when I buy wine at a restaurant or winery. For that reason, I would probably drink by the glass only when going there. Owned by such a cute and friendly couple from NY, Clos Wine Shop really has so much charm to it in addition to such good wine. There is a great selection of different wine bottles you can take home or enjoy there with a $10 corking fee, which is extremely worth it in my opinion. A lot of the bottles selected here are very affordable as well and start around the $15 range, which is really nice too. You can also purchase by the glass if that floats your boat! There is an outside patio right in front where you can enjoy wine and other available wine pairing foods at. Their wine pairing meals are also very well presented and delicious--I would recommend the Patagonia Paprika Mackerel as well as the Smoked Mussels. The seating arrangements are on the smaller side, so I highly recommend catching up with a friend or with a small group here. It's definitely a more intimate vibe, which I love. Love this cute wine shop! My friend and I were walking down the block when we spontaneously decided to come in. The owners, a lovely couple, greeted us and explained their menu. We saw two different skin-contact wines on there, and since we both never tried that before, we ordered both. Although I imagined them to be more orange-hued, I ended up liking the white one more, and my friend liked the red one, so all worked out. The only thing I wish they had was a tasting option where we can try a wider selection with smaller pours. For food, we shared a charcuterie board with 2 meats and 2 cheeses. Don't remember the names of anything, but per their recommendation, we got a spicy pork and a type of beef for the meats, and a soft (I think cows?) and a harder (sheeps?) cheese. Either way, it was a great variety. And even though I have had many charcuterie boards before, everything I've tried during my visit was new and exciting.
