This place is amazing! There are surprisingly few wine bars in this area (you'd think San Diego would have more) so finding this spot felt like such a gem. If you're looking for a sunny patio where you can relax, read a book with your dog by your side, and enjoy natural wines alongside cheese and small bites, this is the place. I stumbled in without a book, but honestly, it was just as nice pulling out my phone and reading for a while with a glass of wine in hand. The patio is adorable, and there's also cozy seating inside. Feeling chilly? They even have a basket of blankets you can grab on your way out to the patio, such a thoughtful (and very cute) touch. The wine menu appears to change often, which I love, variety keeps things interesting. They offer both bottles and wines by the glass, and if you don't finish your bottle, they'll happily cork it for you to take home. The olives were delicious, some stuffed with anchovy and all marinated in a flavorful oil with light seasoning. Along with olives, you'll find great snack options like cheeses, crackers, and an impressive selection of tinned fish. The staff was beyond friendly and genuinely helpful, which made the experience even better. I'll absolutely be back. So glad I discovered you, Clos Wine Shop!

Hands down my favorite wine shop - super friendly owners, great selections of wines and vermouth, and extensive selection of tinned fish downstairs. There is a menu of wines by the glass and cheese plates. Highly recommend. 10/10.

This is the epitome of neighborhood wine tasting room perfection! Clos is located in the heart of University Heights. It's a thoughtfully curated tasting room filled with unique bottles of bubbles, whites, oranges and reds. Nothing boring here. You can enjoy a class on the sunny patio or take a seat inside of the tasting room. Either way, you're in for a treat. Food options are minimal but they have some nice cheese boards. You can also start or end here and grab a bite in the nearby area. The staff here is so personable! They're there to serve you something you love and took the time to understand what we were looking for. Our server found a matching bottle that perfectly fit what we wanted! It's like she could read our mind! I'm pretty picky and rarely compelled to buy a bottle but I couldn't help grabbing two oranges. I love a unique orange and they had two that were just so special I couldn't resist. The prices were also great and so accessible. Absolutely obsessed with this little wine room!

Our server was super friendly - made great wine recommendations. There's a tinned fish shop in the basement of the store with an extremely wide variety of tinned fish you can purchase and have served right then and there with olives, crackers, etc. I loved that interactive aspect of our experience here!

Wall with Huge selection of tin fish/seafood.

Wonderful spot! I saw them online... ordered and realized they were located in SD. Paul handled my order well and added a tin fish on the house when one in my cart was sold out after I checked out. After going to the shop and seeing the downstairs... I enjoyed a glass of wine while taking my time shopping for tin seafood from the shelves. Great selection of tin seafood and all the sides to accompany a fish-cuterie or meal.

Cute lil gem. A wine shop for natural and minimal-intervention wines. They have wines from everywhere. They serve wine by the glass too and there's also food to snack on. The staff is very knowledgeable and would love to tell you everything you want to know about wine.

Clos has my heart! I've been coming here since they first opened and it's one of my staple spots to bring friends or visitors for a casual drink and some apps (or girl dinner). The staff is so knowledgeable about the wine and the charcuterie boards never miss! They also have non-alcoholic wine options. I already can't wait to go back!

A cute little wine shop with really nice people. Chilled here for a few hours with a couple of friends in the afternoon and had a great time just drinking wine and eating some snacks. They offer a variety of tinned/canned seafood including octopus and snails. Service was great. Just a heads up there is a $10 dollar corkage free. There was plenty of street parking available.

My friend and I went to Clos Wine Shop on a Saturday evening with our two dogs. I had read the positive reviews of this wine shop, and we always love to go to places that are dog friendly. The shop was packed on a Saturday night. We had planned to sit on the patio but it was full, so luckily our furry friends were welcomed indoors. The place was small but comfortable. There is a self-service station for water, a few tables, and a small bottle shop with other treats to buy, primarily tinned fish. Anyway, for a small shop, I felt they had a decent selection of wines by the glass: 5 reds and 5 whites. The service was friendly and very good. They were able to give us a good description of the wines on the menu. My friend tried a couple of the whites and found one she really liked. I enjoyed the Syrah Blend. However, I do wish that they had something fuller and dryer that I could have had for my next glass. We shared a cheese board and a bag of the black truffle chips. We were hungry so I do wish there had been a bit more cheese or charcuterie to choose from, though the truffle chips were delicious. I purchased a few bags to take with me. My friend bought a bottle of wine that she had been enjoying to take with her. I noticed that if you buy a bottle from them and drink it there, they charge a corkage fee. There may be some regulation I don't understand, but I never pay a corkage feel when I buy wine at a restaurant or winery. For that reason, I would probably drink by the glass only when going there. All in all, we had a lovely evening there and I would definitely go back to see which wines are on their menu next time.

Outside entrance at night. Bright and comfy.

This place is really cool, I popped in today to check it out. I ended up purchasing a couple bottles of wine and chocolates. I really enjoyed the knowledge of Margo, who was running the place. She knew exactly what I needed. They have a nice patio and heaters to enjoy the bottle of wine on site. They have some olives, canned fish, chocolates, etc available as well. I would have liked to seen some fresh cheeses or fruits available. I would have purchased to enjoy with my wine. All in all, satisfied and will be coming back for all my wine purchases. Cheers !

This is my favorite neighborhood spot and everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine options. I just started to become a wine drinker, and they always knew what to recommend. Always had a great bottle to take home! I love the location and the wine selections. Can't wait to keep coming back! And to the sweet owners, we appreciate you so much for bringing life to the neighborhood! See you soon :)

Clos is just the best. My friends and I love coming here for a snack and glass of wine. The porch is so cozy. The staff is so knowledgeable and energetic. Also such a great spot to grab a housewarming / birthday wine gift!

Loved this place! It is the cutest locally owned wine shop in our area (university heights). You can buy wine to go or buy a bottle or glass to drink there. If you buy a bottle, there is a $10 corkage fee. They are super knowledgeable and friendly! 2 tables inside and seating outside on the front porch. Very cute! They have a few food items as well. Tinned fish and charcuterie, among a few other items. We got a charcuterie with 2 cheeses and two meats. It was so cute and perfect with the bottle of wine we chose. We will definitely be back!

I made a reservation (just in case) because on a weekend you never know. Luckily, though, we arrived and there was plenty of available seating. My husband and I had our 10 and 5 year old with us and they easily accommodated us. It's a straightforward, but lovely menu that has a little bit for everyone. We enjoyed sharing a few plates and fresh oysters on the half shell. They do not have a kids menu, which was alright with us. Our daughter, who loves a good steak at 5 years old, enjoyed their pub steak and fries and shared a Mexican Coke with her brother. For my husband and I, we enjoyed sharing their beef tartare and to finish it off, a banana split. What we found so whimsical about Finca is their presentation. My husband and I really enjoyed exploring their menu and leaving room for a return visit soon.
