We went to Blind lady on a Saturday night. Got a table right away and headed to the front to order. The cashier or bartender or whatever you call him was super rude! We were standing off to the side looking and the menu.After I told him we were still deciding, he rolled his eyes. Then he proceeded to throw his arms in the air waving a yelling ," ready to order!!!?" I was confused cause there was no line and even if there was we were standing off to the side. We ordered from the impatient asshole. The beers were ok The pepperoni pizza was standard. The salad was ridiculous! A handful of lettuce with 4 croutons and dressing for $14... bland rip off. Anyways if the service hadn't been so rude it might actually have been a cool place. We have been here 2 other times and the bartenders were aloof and rude, I guess 3rd time is not a charm. It was quite busy the two times I went but it was also when they had pliney on tap so it may have been busier than usual. That didn't stop the efficient lines to order your food and drinks, it just meant that table seating was sparse. I've been a patron of BLAH for many years and it helped me get into craft beers. It brings me joy that it has stuck around especially after the pandemic. This is a great spot to meet friends, enjoy a wide selection of craft beers and pizzas. All the beertenders I've encountered here were very friendly and appeared they liked their job, which contributes to the lively atmosphere especially on crowded weekend nights. On this visit, I had the best beer smoothie I've ever had, with notes of coconut and other tropical flavors. They also had a few sours which I also enjoy as well as Oktoberfest beers. Probably my only complaint would be that the beer menu's print size is too small, or maybe just my eyes are bad. That and the parking. Second to the beer, the food here is good. Mostly a selection of appetizers and pizzas and they also have good vegan and vegetarian options. It was actually my first time trying the fries with beer cheese, and that cheese is delicious! The inside can get pretty loud with some loud music (and seemed like there is a DJ who plays sometimes too) and there are lots of people inside so another reason why it would be loud. It can be pretty packed so finding seats can be a bit challenging especially if you have a large group. You would order at the counter for your food and drinks. One of the best businesses on Adams Ave, let alone restaurants, BLAH appeals to every type of person I've met in our Normal Heights neighborhood. People usually find one or two pizzas and a salad that they can't not order, if they're ordering food, they're that good. Great beer selection, that gets pushed, sure, because of how busy they get, but I'm pretty selective and I've always found something I could drink and enjoy. And speaking of how busy, I think they manage the seating the best they can, they still fit in live music when they can, which is so commendable, and the staff has always been incredible to me, even when they're slammed.
