We came in on a Saturday around 6:30PM for some dinner. It was our first time here and it was a great experience. We came in with a party of 6 and were able to be seated immediately. Food: We ordered Burrata and Tomato pizza, Combo pizza, Truffle Parm Frites, and S'mores cake. I split this with 3 people and it was still plenty of food to share. The pizzas were very good and delicious. The pizzas were a bit flimsy that the contents would fall off of the pizzas. The truffle parm had 3 sauces and the curry ketchup was definitely my favorite of the sauces on there. The s'mores cake was a good cake but it didn't really taste like a s'more. Water is self served but room temp only. Service: Staff were great and helpful. To order food, after being seated, you get in line of the register order your food and tell them the table number. We went to Blind lady on a Saturday night. Got a table right away and headed to the front to order. The cashier or bartender or whatever you call him was super rude! We were standing off to the side looking and the menu.After I told him we were still deciding, he rolled his eyes. Then he proceeded to throw his arms in the air waving a yelling ," ready to order!!!?" I was confused cause there was no line and even if there was we were standing off to the side. We ordered from the impatient asshole. The beers were ok The pepperoni pizza was standard. The salad was ridiculous! A handful of lettuce with 4 croutons and dressing for $14... bland rip off. Anyways if the service hadn't been so rude it might actually have been a cool place. We have been here 2 other times and the bartenders were aloof and rude, I guess 3rd time is not a charm. I've been a patron of BLAH for many years and it helped me get into craft beers. It brings me joy that it has stuck around especially after the pandemic. This is a great spot to meet friends, enjoy a wide selection of craft beers and pizzas. All the beertenders I've encountered here were very friendly and appeared they liked their job, which contributes to the lively atmosphere especially on crowded weekend nights. On this visit, I had the best beer smoothie I've ever had, with notes of coconut and other tropical flavors. They also had a few sours which I also enjoy as well as Oktoberfest beers. Probably my only complaint would be that the beer menu's print size is too small, or maybe just my eyes are bad. That and the parking. Second to the beer, the food here is good. Blind Lady is one of the few bars in San Diego that has the pliney the younger hookup, so I had to check them out. It was quite busy the two times I went but it was also when they had pliney on tap so it may have been busier than usual. That didn't stop the efficient lines to order your food and drinks, it just meant that table seating was sparse. I've only got their drinks but their food looked really good so that would be something I do want to try the next time I come here. The inside can get pretty loud with some loud music (and seemed like there is a DJ who plays sometimes too) and there are lots of people inside so another reason why it would be loud. It can be pretty packed so finding seats can be a bit challenging especially if you have a large group. You would order at the counter for your food and drinks. I had an awful experience with Evan. He was short tempered, rude and unpleasant. Completely unprofessional and this is a huge bummer seeing as my family and I frequent this location and consider it one of our neighborhood hangouts. After dealing with Evan, I'll never be back.
