Georgette's is my new favorite speakeasy in San Diego. Made reservations for two on a Thursday night (try to make them in advance, or consider walking up to the bar for first come first serve seating). The vibe is so intimate and cozy - perfect for a date night. When we arrived up the spiral staircase, we were seated directly in front of a grand piano that was being played beautifully. We also had a view of the restaurant below which was a cool experience. The only light in the bar is from candles lit on each table. The cocktail menu is extensive, and our server Jess was very helpful, kind and patient with us as we perused the menu and chose our drinks. They have various "chapters" from New Orleans, to old world France, to spirits including an absinthe menu. Both of our cocktails were complex yet so well balanced. I love how unique the beverages and experience was. This is a must to add to your rotation!

Cocktails were delicious and really well prepared.. I really enjoyed the wife variety And the menu was Huge! It seemed like over 30 Cocktails. We had dinner below And was walked up to enjoy our cocktails. The view was really nice from up top in the speak easy.

Stopped into Georgette's last weekend hosting a friend visiting from out of town. Seemed like the perfect spot for a night cap after an earlier dinner. Located in the second level inside A L'Ouest, a spiral staircase in the main dining area takes you behind the curtain to a curated piano lounge inspired cocktail bar. Dimly lit, and limited seating, Georgette's is the perfect place for a night cap or a cozy lounge date. The drink program upstairs is definitively Louisiana prohibition curated with some very flavorful options. The live pianist really set the lounge vibe and I'm excited to come back to try other drinks.

We had reservations at A L'ouest on a Sunday evening and were told about a bar located upstairs while we waited for our table. The bar itself is a great spot. Very dim lighting, moody atmosphere, and a live piano player that really sets the tone. The cocktail selection is solid. That said, service (from the staff downstairs) killed the vibe a bit. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks, and you're not allowed to bring them downstairs to your table. We ended up having to leave shortly after getting them, which wasn't the best experience from a hospitality standpoint. On the positive side, the bartender was fantastic and made up for a lot of that. Overall, I'd definitely come back for drinks and the ambiance, just with adjusted expectations.

Best piano player. Go here from 6-9 and hopefully you experience Wayne on the piano, he's amazing.

Had dinner at A L'ouest....again and again it was fabulous! This time Georgette's was open - yah! Our server was fabulous and got us a booking for after our dinner. You know how pretty the restaurant is and this bar is pretty cool too. It was big and roomy as well. I tried my first absinthe drink and though it was not my favorite, I'm glad I tried. We had a champagne cockail after that and it was super yummy. The music was great and the decor was very nice. Not too dark which was a plus. We got a table but I believe they take walk-ins at the bar. We'll be back!

Made a reservation with a group of friends for Georgette and were walked upstairs through A L'ouest to get there. The decor and vibes are very sleek and there was even a live musician playing in the corner. My immediate comparison, layout-wise, is that it's very similar to Leila's upstairs dining area. They have a very extensive menu with many drinks to choose from. That being said, it didn't seem like the cocktails had any unique or interesting ingredients/twists. The drink list seemed lest experimental and more like "doing the classics but really well". I opted for the Ramos Gin Fizz which was made from gin, lemon, lime, cream, egg white, orange flower water, and soda. It's very refreshing and the foamy eggwhite topper was a very fun addition to the drink. Something to note too is that cocktail prices are definitely on the higher end. Expect to pay at least $20 and at most $30ish for some of the drinks.

    Beautiful table presentation

My friend is ready to redecorate his place with Moroccan lamps now. The only negative was our fault...we decided to go two days ago and the only reservation left was at 8:45. I think IO more beautiful at night, so we were looking forward to it nonetheless. We arrived around 8 and ordered a bottle of wine in the waiting area/courtyard ramp. Such an interesting layout, but it works! We got to sit at a table right next to the waterfall and pond. Our server was very nice. Probably the only slip-up in service, was that our main came out when we had barely put a dent in apps. We were probably chatting and sipping on wine too much? The expo realized, kept the mains, and said take your time. Then he brought out mains when we were ready. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. My friend and I decided to both get the steak on the hot stone. It comes out raw and you have to keep track of time to cook it how you like it. You can choose flavored salts and butters and sauces for the side. We also shared the pickled strawberry salad. It had lots of toppings, flavor, and textures. The pozole verde was also excellent.

What really keeps me coming back are the seasonal transformations. They go all out with the decorations, and during Christmas the entire restaurant feels completely transformed. It's one of the best holiday dining experiences in San Diego. The seasonal touches don't stop at the décor either. I like that they regularly introduce limited-time food and cocktail specials, so there's usually something new to try while still keeping some of their popular favorites on the menu. Everything I've ordered over multiple visits has been well prepared, and I haven't had a bad meal yet. It's definitely on the pricier side, so I see it more as a place for celebrations, date nights, or when you want a unique dining experience rather than an everyday meal. Between the food, drinks, and the incredible decorations, it feels worth it for those occasions. One piece of advice: make a reservation. This place is popular, especially during the holidays and other seasonal events, and tables fill up quickly.

I made a reservation (just in case) because on a weekend you never know. Luckily, though, we arrived and there was plenty of available seating. My husband and I had our 10 and 5 year old with us and they easily accommodated us. It's a straightforward, but lovely menu that has a little bit for everyone. We enjoyed sharing a few plates and fresh oysters on the half shell. They do not have a kids menu, which was alright with us. Our daughter, who loves a good steak at 5 years old, enjoyed their pub steak and fries and shared a Mexican Coke with her brother. For my husband and I, we enjoyed sharing their beef tartare and to finish it off, a banana split. What we found so whimsical about Finca is their presentation. My husband and I really enjoyed exploring their menu and leaving room for a return visit soon. I couldn't recommend Finca more for anyone looking for a fun and casual dining experience with a lovely staff and unique take on traditional favorites.

This may have just become my new regular haunt. It's a fantastic neighborhood gem that deserves a place on any foodie's must-visit list. Absolutely love this place!

I just went in for summer and some of the drinks were fresh‑fruit‑forward and tropical. If you want the full bar experience minus the hangover, this is it. The concept is meaningful, giving ode to rapper Mac Miller and inspired by his song "Good News" to honor him and spread awareness around addiction. It adds heart and intention to the space. It's located in City Heights, which isn't an area I drive through very often, but I was craving a good burger and finally decided it was time to check this place out. I stopped by for a late lunch on Saturday, and there were only a few people inside. The place has plenty of seating at the bar along with a few tables and a very casual, laid-back vibe. I ordered the Salute without bacon. I had read that they cook their fries in 100% beef tallow, and after seeing so many reviews rave about the rosemary fries, I definitely had to try them. They did not disappoint! They were super crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and the combination of sea salt and rosemary was absolutely delicious. Honestly, the fries alone are worth coming back for. The burger was also cooked perfectly medium, just as I ordered, and was incredibly juicy. I did ask about the beef since I originally came here because of the ranch I knew they had sourced from. They told me they now use meat from a different ranch, but it's still pasture-raised, grass-fed beef. You could definitely taste the quality. The portion was generous, and I thought the price was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. They also feature different burger specials/flavors each month, which gives me another reason to come back. If I'm craving a really good burger and crispy fries, I would definitely make the trip over here again.

A dear friend recommended this spot, and as the burger enthusiast I am, I had to try it. Key & Cleaver sits on a busy corner in City Heights, and parking nearby was tough -- I ordered pickup, but honestly wouldn't do that again because driving around hunting for a spot took forever. The burgers were great and the fries were solid. The ranch was creamy and delicious. One annoying thing: the online menu doesn't specify that burgers come with fries, and since a lot of good burger places do them à la carte, we ordered two extra sides unnecessarily. It made the meal pricier than it needed to be, and I wish the online menu clarified that since you can't ask anyone when ordering to‑go. They also offer a great burger‑drink‑fries lunch special, but it's only for indoor dining -- bummer for takeout. I wouldn't order to‑go again, but I would come back for that lunch special.
