Fairfax Street and happened across at this morning after a run and a visit to the farmers market. The space is beautiful and expertly merchandised. Great labels and stunning choices. Jewelry, purses, scarves, jackets, dresses and a BIG sale rack too. As I walked by before they opened I spied a beautiful pair of black Kate Spade sandals in the display window that I desperately wanted. Unfortunately they were a size 10- so if anyone is looking for a great pair of flats run over there- they're in the window!! Bought a beautiful sleeveless shirt for the summer and will be back again and again. Great to support a local owner especially one so nice.

Older bald headed black woman accused me of stealing a Lily Pulitzer dress that was less than $40.00. I was offended. I was the only black female in the shop and she watched me like a hawk. I will try to contact the owner. I will also let my friends and all the outlets on social media aware of the treatment. If theft is a problem, install security tags. Do yourself a favor and go to Mint Condition. Customer service is awesome. Employees are pleasant.

Vida Style - Just one corner of the shop--excellent, easy-to-peruse inventory

If you go through the front glass double doors, the store is straight ahead. A note, the store is closed on Saturdays. They have a great mix of clothing, accessories, purses and shoes. Great quality. Different price ranges and I felt the pricing was reasonable for the area. Definitely worth a visit!! The staff is friendly and eager to help! It was refreshing to be welcomed and acknowledged in a store! Iykyk.

I've been a devoted consignment-store shopper from Dallas to Boston to SoCal. While I found several great shops in Alexandria that day, none checked all the boxes quite like Vida Style did. First off, it has something for every budget and size. There's a $10 rack AND couture items that can cost $400-$1k+. My regular shopping budget is closer to $100, and I've never left here empty handed. The first time I visited, I was on the hunt for a muumuu for a theme party by the same name and had no problem finding the perfect item below my price point. Today, I was on the hunt for "holiday cocktail" wear and found not only a festive, sparkly A-line skirt but also a beautiful DKNY cocktail dress just my size--and walked out having spent LESS than $115 total! The hardest part will be deciding which to wear to this weekend's party. What else sets Vida Style apart is that, unlike other neighborhood shops, there's PLENTY of inventory without sensory overload. Having worked in retail, I like seeing racks that are organized (size and color!) AND easy to peruse in a reasonable amount of time (I mean, if you have a street meter running, you don't want to be in there all day, right?). Other nearby shops might have lovely items, but they're SO crammed on the rack that I just give up porque no vale la pena. Then there's the Vida Style staff. As others have pointed out, they're AMAZING. They treat you like a human being and don't judge if you're just buying a $10 skirt for your cousin's wedding (guilty). They treat you like family and if they give you a compliment, it's genuine. Also, if you can't get there for whatever reason, they have a serious e-commerce presence. They're super active on Instagram, where they showcase new arrivals and rare finds, which is great for folks who love fashion but might not live close enough to just pop in. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised to find a robust selection of blazers and suit jackets right in the center of the shop. Other stores have reduced their jacket inventory post-pandemic, but not here. Why was I not surprised that TWO attorneys were shopping here at lunchtime today? They really have it all. From shoes to purses to scarves, shirts, sunglasses, jackets, formal wear, and even menswear, Vida Style has it all. I really can't recommended it enough. Please shop local and check them out!
