Despite bringing in clean, well-kept items (some have never been worn) very little was accepted, which made the experience feel like a waste of time. After reviewing most of their inventory on the racks, it was hard to understand why many of the items I brought in were not accepted. It may be the "manager's" bias as she inspected the items. She was polite in a very insincere way trying to explain to me what she would accept and not accept, which was all very random. Was that really her natural voice?!! Also, when I brought my items in they were pressed and neatly folded but were given back to me not folded, bundled together and wrinkled. I have a much better experience with TheRealReal.

First off, it has something for every budget and size. There's a $10 rack AND couture items that can cost $400-$1k+. My regular shopping budget is closer to $100, and I've never left here empty handed. The first time I visited, I was on the hunt for a muumuu for a theme party by the same name and had no problem finding the perfect item below my price point. Today, I was on the hunt for "holiday cocktail" wear and found not only a festive, sparkly A-line skirt but also a beautiful DKNY cocktail dress just my size--and walked out having spent LESS than $115 total! The hardest part will be deciding which to wear to this weekend's party. What else sets Vida Style apart is that, unlike other neighborhood shops, there's PLENTY of inventory without sensory overload. Having worked in retail, I like seeing racks that are organized (size and color!) AND easy to peruse in a reasonable amount of time (I mean, if you have a street meter running, you don't want to be in there all day, right?). Other nearby shops might have lovely items, but they're SO crammed on the rack that I just give up porque no vale la pena. Then there's the Vida Style staff. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised to find a robust selection of blazers and suit jackets right in the center of the shop. Other stores have reduced their jacket inventory post-pandemic, but not here. Why was I not surprised that TWO attorneys were shopping here at lunchtime today? They really have it all. I tried it on in the shop, Reza studied it for maybe thirty seconds, took some measurements and made suggestions. No fuss, no upselling -- just a calm, knowing confidence. When I came back to pick it up, he brought it out and I immediately knew...it was beautiful! What had been a visibly misfitting dress, was turned into an elegant gown!
