I highly recommend Sharon; she's a fantastic closet designer who truly assisted me. My closet was a challenging project, being small and featuring many angled walls that made it difficult to configure. My installer was Chris, and he did an excellent job! My experience with Closet World has been very positive, and I would suggest them. My advice to anyone considering a custom closet is to stay open-minded, and if revisions are needed, that's okay. We had to adjust my plan a few times, but now it's perfect. Thank you, Sharon and Chris! My advice for anyone looking to convert their closets: First, hire a skilled handyman to open up the closet if it's a closed concept like mine. Second, paint it. I chose white paint. Installers arrived within the scheduled window, which I appreciated. They were professional, friendly, and worked efficiently. There was a minor hiccup during the install, but it was addressed and corrected right away without issue. They completed three closets, including removal of an existing unit, which made the process feel seamless overall. The finished closets look great and definitely improved the space. My only concern is with the materials and overall sturdiness. Since it's not solid wood, some of the shelving has a bit of give and doesn't feel as supportive as I expected. My experience with Closet World has been extremely disappointing. If you go to their website they have nothing but stellar reviews. They are a lie as they are obviously leaving out the bad customer feedback. PLEASE READ MY FULL REVIEW AND BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO I placed my oder for a cabinet system in my garage on June 18, 2026 once final measurements were completed. The order was supposed to be installed on July 13th. On July 13th (a month later!) they came to install the cabinets and the order was incomplete. There were three missing cabinets, no shelves, missing doors, a missing wardrobe bar, and they put the wrong slides on the drawers (we paid extra for ball bearing slides). There are also many nicks and dings in the finish work and every time the installers leave not one crew has bothered to clean the cabinets. Additionally the salesman made promises about the installation and potential modifications that were untrue or inaccurate and now, on top of missing and incorrect items, cabinets have had to be corrected. When they came back to correct the slides on the drawers they now left all the drawers crooked and misaligned. Today is July 28th. We are now a month and 10 days post the order date and 15 days past the initial installation date. They found the shelves and I had to negotiate to have those installed as soon as possible so we can try to get our belongings, currently stored in our backyard, back into the garage. We now have to wait until August 14th to hopefully get the rest of the pieces to complete our order and to get the drawers corrected. The array of 16 drawers cannot be used until they are fixed. In communications with them it is obvious to me the company is taking on more business than they have staff to manage it and would rather keep the money flowing in than to take care of customers that have fully paid for orders. They are NOT telling new customers the true timelines for delivery and installation. The new customers and installations take priority over any orders in process. By the way they make you pay for 100% of the order upon delivery of the product regardless if it is all there or not! They now have all your money and you are beholding to their "fitting" you back into the schedule. You are no longer a priority. A most disappointing experience and it is ongoing. read more

Derrick one of the manager made contact with us to make sure the multiple issues were fixed. Travis and Mauro came out and not only put the missing door on, they also fixed the other installers work, but lining up the doors correctly, putting on molding on the sides of the doors and installing a board across the top to close the gap from the closet to the ceiling. If Travis and Mauro would have been our first installers, I believe they would have handled the entire installation correctly. Both Travis and Mauro showed exemplary customer service and made sure the work was done correctly. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Do NOT hire Closet World if you want a stress-free experience. I spent over $20,000 on my closets, and all it has brought me is frustration and anxiety. The first major disappointment happened when the installer never showed up because, according to the company, he was injured. The problem wasn't the injury--it was that no one bothered to notify me. I had to call them myself to find out that no one was coming. That is extremely unprofessional. They rescheduled me for the following week. I had already taken three days off work because Closet World told me someone needed to be home during the installation. Taking time off is understandable, but having no one show up without any notice is unacceptable. When the installers finally came, they discovered that several parts were missing and some items were damaged, so the installation couldn't be completed. I was then told I had to wait another two weeks for replacement parts. The night before the follow-up appointment, they left me a voicemail expecting me to be available the very next day. My appointment window was scheduled for 9:00-11:00 AM, but by 2:00 PM no one had arrived or even contacted me. They arrived 2:05pm To make matters worse, Irene from customer service was rude and acted as if I was lying when I told her I had a screenshot showing my appointment was scheduled for 9:00-11:00 AM, not 12:00-2:00 PM as she claimed. She said she would call me back, but she never did. For a company charging premium prices, I expected professional communication, reliable scheduling, and quality service. Instead, I've experienced missed appointments, damaged and missing parts, poor customer service, and a complete lack of respect for my time. I Am very disappointed with my purchase at this company, when the disigner came to my home and I showed her examples of what I wanted she made me think that she know exactly what I wanted, I told her I wanted very specific working desk and I end up with something I can't use. I put my trust in her knowlage but she didn't. My intent to comunícate to management was even worst, I talked to some Derek guy and he was the rudest person, he will asked me a question and wouldn't allowed me to answer him before he talked over me without wanting to help me resolve my situation, the instalers told me that if I wasn't happy someone will contact me but no body had called me after a week of waiting. I end up with a desk that is only 18" deep and 28" high and ergonomically is not proper for my back, and it wasn't what I asked them to do. read more

Updating this as the installer, David, is in my house on April 29 2025... we were contacted by Derrick, the manager we asked not to deal with again. Screw our requests right? All damages to the walls were fixed by us but there were a few things they needed to fix/ replace. So we had them come replace the drawers that weren't cut properly and re-level the area under the window.. New Issue: the drawers still don't function properly when pulling out and one is still cut wrong. When I told David about one of the drawers not pulling out properly, his reply "it's cheap material". I replied, "as much as we're paying it should be a proper install", he replied "it is a proper install, but buy better material, there's nothing we can do about that" ... it's funny cause we just bought a drawer from Ikea for our son, bare bones DIY, and it functions 5x better with none of the same issues, at a quarter of the price......Sad. The one star is for leveling the area under the window properly this time. He even said he was looking at the window when he installed the first time, not properly leveling the shelves he needed to..... great job..... great job. Smh read more

We bought our home from the previous owners that had purchased a Murphy bed (through closet world) We had no clue about their stipulations/ contracts / or anything about the company & how IMPOSSIBLE they would be to deal with. We took (their) Murphy bed/ product off the wall to paint/ redo our flooring & baseboards . When it was time to anchor the bed back to the wall we figured we can just casually call them since they were the ones who designed the bed to safety anchor it back ... apparently we "voided the contract" due to simply moving the bed off the wall . You'd think it would be an easy fix & they would be like "okay no worries you took the bed off the wall, we would love to come anchor it back safely for you so you guys can properly use our expensive product" NO NO.. I was very wrong. They made us feel like we committed a crime by moving the bed off the wall unknowingly they would be nothing but absolutely no help. We paid $190 for them to come out and look at it when it's completely perfectly intact just to say nope we aren't helping you you "voided the contract" Also we spent 1,700 for them to design us a small closet bc we figured we will be loyal and if they were willing to help us (pay) to have the Murphy bed anchored back.. if I would have known they would be ZERO help , we would have never used this company again. I had a very disappointing experience with Closet World, both in terms of workmanship and customer service. The installation process was plagued with issues from the start. The wrong products were installed, some items were damaged, materials were cut incorrectly and still installed, and additional damage occurred during installation. As a result, I had to deal with installers returning to my home on three separate occasions just to fix mistakes from the original job. To make matters worse, I was never informed about backorders or incorrect product orders until installers showed up for a follow-up visit, which led to even more delays and additional appointments. For the amount of money I paid, I expected a high-quality product and a smooth, professional experience. What I received was far from that and absolutely not worth the price. The lack of communication and quality control was extremely frustrating, but what made the situation worse was the customer service. Working with the install manager, Derek, was particularly difficult. He was unaccommodating, dismissive, and at times rude, showing little empathy for the repeated inconvenience caused. When I requested a partial refund or discount due to the ongoing issues and the time I had to take off work for multiple visits, he refused to even consider it and repeatedly pointed to the contract as justification. On top of that, there were instances where installers were scheduled to come to my home without my knowledge--either I had to call to confirm, or they simply showed up unannounced. This lack of coordination added unnecessary stress to an already frustrating experience. Overall, the level of customer service and unwillingness to take responsibility for their mistakes was appalling. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and accountability. Designer promised to take into account the current items we have that needed to "fit" in the new design. However, they clearly did not take notes or measure, the be design landed space and proper shelving. The install was messy and left is with damaged walls and shelves in the closet. Half the drawers did not even 'autoclose", and weeks later were still waiting for the replacement. Customer service was lacking and made us feel like were just a dollar figure. This is a terribly run company that quite literally has no idea what they're doing from sales to design to install to management. Do not use! Do not use! Go literally anywhere else. The designer did not design anything for us, but instead said "don't worry" and sent the installers, who could not install anything because the designer didn't give correct dimensions or account for, for example, the dryer vent in the laundry room! Overall we are pleased with our pantry, it was a very simple design, so I would not expect any difficulty. However, the installation was a nightmare. They don't give you a window until the day prior, so you have to leave the entire day free. In my case no one called me the day prior, I finally called them and was told 1 - 4 for the next day. By 3:30pm the next day I still had not heard from the installer. I called and was told he was still at the last job and that they could not tell me when he'd be here. He arrived at 5:30, and apparently was not advised that the project would email a demo. So all he could do was the demo. I was told I would get a call the next morning to advise me of the for hour window for that day. Again, no call. I called and was told 12 - 2. Another day of sitting at home. No call by 2 pm. I was told installer was busy. Didn't show until 4pm. I can't imagine how long it would take for a big project. I do not recommend this company read more

I had someone come to my home and gave me a quote and design quite timely. I was told there would be additional discount if I put a down payment that day. Since it seems closet world really has a big market and my friends have been satisfied in went ahead with a 3700$ shelf project. When they arrived I learned there was a shelf that was not correct size- despite the measurements taken. They had a replacement brought immediately and cut it down. Overall, I'm pretty pleased, and they ( 2 workers) worked quickly -, had a challenge putting in shelf against wall- yet there was a huge gap they caulked due to uneven ceiling. After they left I had to touch up the paint with scrapes and a small chip from corner. (It was noticeable to me as I just had walls freshly painted. ) perhaps it's just par for the course, and I'm happy I got the job done quickly, but I would certainly check out other contractors before calling again. Not happy with Chip out of wall though / especially for what I paid. read more

We received defective sliding doors and the mirrors were marked. I tried to clean it off and that didn't work. Derek at the office was initially helpful and then went MIA until I finally caught him on the phone. He then gaslighted me that he was waiting on ME and my decision on whether I would take a settlement or accept new doors. Whatever. I accepted the new doors which were to be delivered today, 2/19. No call the day before with a timeframe and no communication from Derek. I have called him twice today and he is miraculously always on the phone when I call, and his supervisor is not in his office. I am not sure they realize who they are messing with here :) I am relentless and will not settle, and will go through all avenues to ensure I am made whole. PS - they nicked my walls during the install and didn't report it to me.. hoping I wouldn't notice. The designer of course made her sale and when I asked her initially about who I should contact for the damaged doors.. was also MIA. Take your business elsewhere! read more

Recently we used Closet World for closet organizers and built in wall units. Our experience was mostly positive, but there were a few hiccups that we had to work through. Positives: Our sales person, Keegan Sunny, installer - Artemio, and installation supervisor Derek were all outstanding. They ensured that my project got completed with products we were very excited about. The value you end up with is terrific. Closet World was about 25-40% less expensive than competitors and the quality is really good. The installation was efficient and everything looked great when Artemio was finished. Our project took 2 days to install because it was a bigger project. Negatives: The installation team did not show up for our initial appointment, despite calling to confirm that we were on the schedule. This was really annoying because we rearranged our day to make sure we were ready for the install and then no one called us back when we were looking for answers until more than 24 hours later. After finally hearing from Alex in sales, we were informed that he was out of office and no one else got word that our project had to be pushed out. It's crazy that no one else picked up the baton and let us know that we had to push our install date out. I was so irritated that I almost canceled the entire job. This aspect was so unprofessional and unpleasant. At the end of the day, this seems like an organization that is well intentioned with good products but some scheduling concerns and communication inconsistencies. It's probably a 3.5, but I'll round up to a 4 because our installer was so terrific! read more

The quality of the cabinets is awful, much worse than you might imagine. After more than a month of wasting time and huge financial loss and giving two chances to fix the problem and replace the cabinets, they are still severely damaged. So far a big disappointment. Came out to install and things were not cut to size so had to reschedule. Left a mess on first day bc removed base boards etc which had to be done but then nothing got installed so it was like a mini construction zone for a week. Came out a week later for 2nd install, still not done bc the doors are cut too big! So they can't finish the job, hang the doors, or do the molding at the top. Also the wardrobes can't be used bc the rods can't be installed since the door and molding may affect the install. They also charged me for the work prior to the install today! I am nearly positive that that is illegal.in california. now I will need them to come out a third time just to finish a job that should be one day. The installer today was good and I don't blame hime for this company shortcomings. With all the other closet companies, you might want to rethink going with closet world. I have at least 1 or 2 more projects and dont see how in good faith I could use them again. Beware. I wanted to leave a review on my experience with closet world. If you can avoid Derrick from the Vista office, please do so. He is RUDE and has No customer service etiquette. From the confirmation call, delivery and after the fact "Damaged" drawer he did not only handle the situation with "Zero" respect but tried turning the situation around on me the customer! He is definitely not fit to be a supervisor, he needs to take some customer service classes to better understand how to speak to a customer, a customer that is paying for the product and not getting anything for free! I booked my installation weeks in advanced and waited for a specific date in the morning because I had a special event to attend. They didn't show up in the morning in fact they said they would come from 12-2 pm and still showed up at 2:15. Brought a damaged drawer and did they bother to call me to let me know, no! I had to call and ask when will it be ordered and delivered and was gaslighted for the entire phone call. Customer service is horrible!!! Pay a bit more for a better experience!!! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I had a very friendly designer come and provide an awesome design. I placed a deposit on September 18 and was promised an install date of October 10. On the day of install nobody showed up at my house. I was told there was a change and they would reschedule me in two weeks. I provided the regional manager Alex Bendigo some dates I could be flexible with. Alex is unfortunately a terrible communicator and was non responsive to phone calls and did not reply to follow up emails. In fact the response was so poor I could not even get a phone call back from anyone regarding a refund. I was forced to do a charge back through American Express, which is completely unreasonable. I have 0 confidence whatsoever in this company, especially anyone choosing to do business in Alex's region. read more

They installed 3 closets for me. Shortly after the warranty expired, one glass closet door turned dark with stains. They wouldn't honor the warranty, which I understand. But they also refused to help me replace just that ONE part of the door. They falsely claimed the ENTIRE installation needed to be replaced, at 3 times the actual cost. This was false, as confirmed by the vendor who sells them those parts and who assured me it was easy to replace just one door. So in the end, once their mirror product turned out to be defective, they were greedy and not helpful, trying to maximize profits instead of doing the right thing. I ultimately found another company to replace just the one door, at a fraction of the price they quoted me. So I don't recommend them due to their customer service and these practices. read more

I made the mistake of cancelling my other consultation appointments after meeting my sales rep. I voiced my concern about the reviews and lack of follow up during and after installation. I was assured and reassured this experience would be different, it was not. Price sheet eludes to a variety of options. However, while talking and distracted- I inadvertently checked the box to opt out of what I thought I was getting - MAKE SURE YOUR READ THE FINE PRINT!!! When I called the corporate office to discuss, this was the only time that I was very clearly told that I opted out of receiving the "backing" - why would anyone elect to have the wall exposed through the cabinets. I certainly did not intend to. The installer went above and beyond with what he had to work with. Did not receive the valet Rod that I paid extra for. Also, the design (yes I signed off on it) is a joke/not functional and logistically does not make sense - I was not consulted properly about this. This is not my area of expertise and I just ASSumed it would make sense once installed. It doesn't. If it wasn't such a hassle and so expensive, I would rip this out and start all over. I am going to have to call again today because now I feel they owe me money since the work is not done they told me the total amount would be charged once the closet was finished and that has not been the case. GARAGE CABINET INSTALL 10/03/19 Harry understood what it would take to complete my garage and he came through for us. I just want to express my deepest gratitude to Carlos and Federico for an awesome build. These guys came in and got the job done. Natalie Pink! You are amazing and I love your style! It's hard to envision everything when it's on paper. Once the guys get in here and do their thing, it's amazing! My one wish is that they would spend 6-8 hours at a time and finish within a day or 2. For some reason, Closet world schedules their builders to do a job in 3 days but really would show up at noon and leave by 4. So about 4-5 hours each time. Materials were not all present for the first 3 scheduled days so they had to come back two weeks later. Carlos knows his stuff! Don't let his quiet nature fool you. He works with such expertise and attention to detail. This was our second project with Closet World this year. I feel we got what we paid for and are enjoying our new garage and master closet. It's beautiful to be able to organize your things and helps tremendously with living a peaceful day to day life. You will be so much better at getting things done when there's a place for everything. Not what you expect for thousands of dollars....sales lady was rude, they were supposed to be here between 1 and 3 to install. Didn't show up until 5, and were here until 8 at night. The consultant reassured us time and time again that should ANYTHING happen we would be covered under there warranty. Not even a year in we are having issues such as rods falling off. We call it in and their answer to us is "we don't offer warranty on that..should we want someone to come out and take a look at the issue we have to pay a additional $150 dollars." Now mind you that doesn't guarantee that they will do anything. They are just charging to come out and look at it. What company does not stand behind a product and service that they offer?? Spend a little more $ and go with a different company. Install looked great but the material is cheap and a few doors had to be fixed since they didn't close flush. Whatever the wife was happy. They had to come back out again and fix the items. Then both hamper drawers and the closing mechanisms broke. Hey it's under warrant it's only been a few months, except we found out why the labor warranty is only six months. Asked for the parts so we could fix on our own via email on 01/23/23. They said sure 130 dollars. Nothing was sent. Emailed them again 2/16/23. No reply. Emailed 3/7/23 and then they replied the next day saying they wouldn't send the parts and they would have to repair them. Conveniently appears they avoided replying to avoid the final months of the warranty. Anyway. Parts are cheap and customer service is garbage. Harsh review but spending over 5k for a service you expect it to be done correctly. I guess you win some and lose some. 3/24/23 (Just an update) an installer came today. Completed the work and advised me that the hardware originally Installed was installed incorrectly which caused the mechanism to fail and the screws on the bottom of the hamper to fail and rip out. The installer wrote this on the receipt. Called customer service and had to speak to 4 different ppl before they told me to call a completely different number. We will see if they will reimburse me for the warranty labor fee since it wasn't installed correctly.
