This was last visit when installer brought back glass door that needed tweaking. Shoes on while working :(
James P.

Had our closet installed May 2016. Shannon at the office, and Susan the sales person were great to work with. Susan custom designed our layout and we like it very much. The reason for 2 stars deduction is the installation. The installer was very polite and well mannered. But the big problem we had was not taking shoes off. He did ask upon initial arrival if he could keep his shoes on because there were 100+ pieces he needed to bring upstairs from the truck. We said ok, (but why not have some floor-runner tarps or blankets??) We recently had our furnace replaced and that company had floor runners from our front door all the way to our basement closet (we were Extremely impressed with that). And multiple times over the 3 day install, we saw that shoes were on while working. Also the installer brought his helper 2x. And one time the helper kept his work boots on. So overall, that was a quite disappointing and frustrating experience for us. I own a company that deals with residential customers. My employees have 3 options to choose from, with No exceptions: 1). Remove your shoes 2). Wear bootie covers 3). Use floor runners Following those guidelines basically guarantees customer loyalty and especially referrals. Overall, quality is good and price was high but acceptable. But I think we'll be checking out other options for our next project in the future.

We are very happy with our new closet from Closets by Design....... Jana our designer was awesome and Joe the installer did a great job too. I have already recommended them to family and friends. The prices were even better than I thought and beat out the units from Menards and other online companies and are 20 times better looking and with a lot more space. Happy customer!

I had my master closet done in September by Closet By Design. I now stand in my closet just to admire the beauty of it. It's amazing how much storage space I now have in there. The installers were great, very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and wiped everything down when they were finished. They arrived on time, which is very important to me. I'd hands down recommend this company to anyone. And would definitely use them again.

Left a mess for me to clean

UPDATE: NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME. SALES REP COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED! PREVIOUS REVIEW: Actually a 3.5. I contracted Closets By Design for a seven and a half foot wide reach in closet. The saleswoman came out and showed us samples including one that she said she had actually hit with her car and run over and was still in fantastic shape so of course that was a major selling point. The unit we selected retailed for $5,000 but we had a 40% off coupon so actually ended up paying around $3,000. The coupon had also said free installation but no mention was ever made of installation costs or savings so I'm not sure if they offer free installation on all their products or not. The day of install came and right up until that day the saleswoman was sending texts and making calls to ensure everything was going to go smoothly. I asked the installer who was a male and alone if I could see the product before he installed it. I noticed that several of the edges of these brand new boards were already scuffed up and had nicks. They were not solid wood by any stretch of the imagination and all of the nicks showed the pressed board. But the installer said that none of the boards were actually to size and he would have to cut most of them on site so those edges would go away. He made quick work of the old closet shelves and the assembly of the new closet only took a couple hours. He did however need to use my bathroom and my electrical power supply. The biggest problem came at the end during cleanup. He had brought in a Shop-Vac and plugged it in next to my bed and fired it up. There was no bag or filter or whatever goes on a Shop-Vac to keep stuff in a Shop-Vac and a powerful spray of other people's dirt and dust shot like a fire hose throughout my room. it was not white like drywall it was brown and black dirt. I hollared to shut it off and he looked back first confused then astonished then mortified. The Cloud of other people's Nast had filled my bedroom and my hallway. I immediately messaged the saleswoman because I still owed half the balance and now had a massive mess in my room. She never responded. He didn't have a dustpan, took the check I'd given him out to his van and left right away. He seemed like a good guy and had done a good job and I could tell he was super embarrassed but that doesn't excuse the mess he made. After I started putting my clothing in my new unit I went to adjust one of the (empty) bars and the 7ft support wall flexed. It literally moved. I'm very concerned that this unit is not going to be able to stand up to the weight of our items and that the shelves are going to start sagging or bowing. There are corners on the drawers that have damage. He had me sign papers before he left saying everything was fine but I just wanted him to go so I signed them. It's now been 8hours w no reply from the company so im posting this.

I was looking for a unique home office installation that could function as a workspace while also housing my library of music, photo albums, and books. I also had some specific wish list items such as a "hiding" bourbon nook. While the functionality of the piece was crucial, I would dare to say the aesthetic was even more important to me. My hope was that the space would be so inviting and inspiring that even after I'd hang up ye ole' work hat, that I'd still want to linger in the room to unwind with a good book, some good tunes (and maybe a tumbler of good bourbon too...). I've dropped in some photos of the finished product as well as my original crappy doodle of what I was looking for and will try to upload a few photos once I get everything settled. Graham and his small but mighty team were amazing to work with from start to finish. Graham was highly collaborative and offered phenomenal suggestions. My favorite was his suggestion to situate the bookshelves above the desk at an angle. This provided more of an ample workspace and also added to the artistic flare of the piece. I plan on hanging up a canvas print in between the bookshelves, so the orientation of the shelves will also guide the eye to the print. Because Willson Woodworking is pretty much a one person show, it took a few months from when I gave the green light to when the finished product was installed. However, Graham and team were upfront from the beginning about how many projects were queued up prior to mine. It is beyond worth it to have a one-of-a-kind piece that is of the highest quality rather than something that is mass produced and can be found in every other home. One other note on value: I did reach out to two other contractors about the project before deciding on Willson Woodworking. One was a local handyman, and one was a closet solutions company. All three quotes came in at roughly the same price. I think this speaks volumes about just how reasonable Willson Woodworking was in terms of pricing. This was definitely an investment regardless of which contractor I chose, but there was no comparison between the three in terms of the finished product. Shout out to Kevin, who professionally painted the shelves (regent blue). Like Graham, Kevin was kind enough to stop by my house and talk through thoughts on color choices. Plus, he helped Graham install the finished product! Another shout out to Raychel, who coordinated the administrative components of the project. Full disclosure: I'll be posting this same review on other platforms as I want to be sure to champion this local vendor!

A friend heard good things about KB&B so I made an appointment and met with Kim. I cannot say enough positive comments about her. She took the time to listen to what we wanted, looked at pics of our current bathroom, and was very direct with what could and could not be done given our dimensions and budget. She was very professional and we left the store confident we were headed in the right direction. Mario (owner) came out a few days later to measure and take pics. He was professional and also straight to the point. The quote was a bit higher than we had hoped, but we felt good about the design and items we selected. Items were ordered and Kim kept us updated on their status since it was several months before they could even start constructions. Once they started, we realized why they cost a little more than the average Joe contractor. Every contractor (4 different guys) were each phenomenal. They treated our home like it was theirs. They were all very clean, very detailed, and they ended up doing a few extra repairs outside of the contract (with my permission). Kris was the main contractor and was here the most and I would give him more than 5 stars. The painter is expertly skilled and I can't tell where the drywall repairs were done. The crew also was very careful around our dogs and didn't leave any doors open. The final project exceeded our expectations. We noticed a few paint touch ups that were needed and Mario sent someone out - a week after the job was done and the check was cashed. They all take pride in their work and I feel really wanted to do whatever they could to have me as a satisfied customer. Make an appointment, rather than just walking in - Kim is busy. Bring in pics and measurements if you can to help her out. They won't be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I would hire KB&B again and encourage everyone reading this to check them out.

Ofer was patient, knowledgeable, and never pushy -- he took the time to walk us through our options and helped us feel confident in our decisions. We went with Orange Cabinetry, a more budget-friendly brand that Ofer endorsed in terms of quality and customer service. Even though there was a delay in stock (which we were informed about in advance), the team encouraged us to stick with the sage green color we really loved instead of settling for something else just to speed things up. I'm so glad we waited -- the cabinets are beautiful, well-built, and exactly what we wanted. We've gotten a ton of compliments. Planet Cabinets also helped us source Jeffrey Alexander hardware, and their support with sizing and quantities made that process easy. Overall, we felt informed, supported, and never rushed. Highly recommend Planet Cabinets if you're looking for a company that balances affordability with honest, thoughtful service.

We had a so-so experience working with Sterling on a new solid surface double vanity top for our…read morebathroom. The showroom offered an array of setups and samples to choose from, and we had a shorter turnaround on the completion and delivery of our top than anticipated. Things started heading south once we opened up the top and prepped it for install. Despite allowing the top to lay flat for a week to settle, it showed a significant bow on the underside of the middle of the top, a very noticeable warp that could be seen in the backsplash and along the front edge of the counter. We had it installed to see if allowing it to settle further would help, but nothing changed. We then spent several weeks going back and forth with Sterling (and their parent company Americraft) who insisted that the issue must be with the cabinet (which was level) or the wall (which was square). They agreed to make it right with a new top, but initially refused to help cover the install fee which originally cost us $800. Once we agreed they wouldn't have considered replacement without knowing we tried to install it in the first place, they said they would send someone out to install as well. Sterling outsources the manufacture of their tops to Carstin Kitchen & Bath in Arthur, IL and they clearly have an issue with their molds. Even the Americraft installers were taken aback by the noticeable bow in our original top and noticed a minor bowing in the second replacement top. In the end, we got a top that sits level and looks nice in our bathroom, but it was an unnecessarily exhaustive process to get there. I wouldn't recommend working with Sterling unless they commit to working with a different manufacturer.
