There should exist a negative star. Worst store ever I was never informed about how much they pay for items. I explained I was picking items in a week due to my work schedule. After they called and said your 72 hours are over sent my husband to get my items back i was paid 26 dollars for some valentinos and Tory shoes 3/4 pairs my husband took the money without knowing the process called back and said I disagree with the price because it's no way I'm taking that amount for shoes that were wore once and they said nope we ain't given them back to you. Because you took the cash. Remember husband was just doing me a favor Of course you know they are going to make 10 times that amount. But is ok if that is the way they make money practically stilling from people. Don't sell your items to them. They are ripe off to people. read more

Was told they don't take items purchased over 2 years ago. Blatant untruth , one of the items I brought in was purchased less than 3 months ago . One I know at least I year ago because it was purchased for my daughters college graduation last year. I just left and took everything with me. Way to alienate future buyers. Either their system is out of date or they just are not being truthful . Either way I won't be back. The owner , while I had no interaction didn't seem very nice speaking to others and spoke over her employee. Not a good look. read more

The owner doesn't even deserve one star! she's rude and doesn't deserve to be opened! i handed her my drivers license and she slammed them on the counter I said you hand them back to me like I handed them to you. she's wants up to date clothes but don't take them. the items hanging in her window are old fashioned year 1980 clothes that she wouldn't even wear!! This is legitimately one of the worst store experiences I have ever had. Upon entering (to sell clothes), the customer service was not great, and the sales woman had no mask on. Preferential treatment was given to others. Was told my clothes would be ready to pick up in 30 minutes, it took three hours. The woman at the front said she could not take any of my items, yet when I got home I noticed a blouse (new with tags) was missing. 100% do not recommend selling or shopping here. read more

This is the worst Clothing Mentor store I've ever been to before. There are no deals here. For example, I found a really nice North Face puffer coat. It was $100. This is the same price as retail. The manager at this location is so unprofessional and rude. I dropped my clothes off Sunday and was told I'd get 72 hours notice to pick my clothes up. I was also told the manager wasn't in that day so they wouldn't be done looking through my stuff that day and I'd be notified when everything was ready for pickup. Fast forward to Thursday I receive a voicemail at work that my clothes need to be picked up by 6 or everything will be donated. I called back and let the manager know that this was the first notification I've received and I don't get off until 5:30 and that it's very inconvenient for me to have to rush over to make sure my things aren't donated. She extends it to tomorrow which also isn't very helpful because once again I get off at 5:30 and unfortunately can't leave during my lunch break on Friday's. I ask if she can hold it until Saturday and she tells me she can only extend it until Friday. When I went into the store to pick up my things after having to leave work early I asked the manager why I was only just notified today to pick my clothes up and why they couldn't compensate for their mistake by extending the hold another extra day, she had zero explanation and no empathy. She was literally shrugging her shoulders the whole time and just had an annoyed blank look the whole time. She had a disgusting attitude and handled the mistake that was made like a child. The only thing that made this experience pleasant was the girl working the cash register with long hair. She was so sweet and helpful letting me know prices of purses and even letting me know other places to bring the clothes they didn't take. The manager could seriously take notes from her on how to treat customers and make them feel welcomed. read more

The women working at the check out was extremely rude and did not communicate effectively whatsoever. 0/10 would recommend shopping or selling with Clothes Mentor in Fayetteville as long as this individual works there. the owner of this building is so beyond awful I don't know how she stays in business.. I had great customer service from the girls at Plato's closet, she called over for items that clothes mentor would take... this lady was so ugly, she refused to even tell me if my stuff would be looked at my the end of the day!! she refused to tell me when I came in at 10 am if it would be done by end of day. she doesn't want business... and told me to walk while im selling tagged louies, Kate spades, and Brahmin bags... Rude! I went in looking for a pair of shoes to match a dress. Found 2 pair & though the price was high for a thrift/used clothing store; they are Nine West, so I got them. Went to my car and realized the buckle was broke one one pair and the other didn't match the dress. About 5 minutes had gone by and I went in to return them. "FINAL SALE read your receipt!" Excuse me! She said we don't allow return on shoes because they've now been worn! Everything in this store has been worn! Obviously they bought the shoes from someone! Final Sale, yep my final and last time I'll go in that store. I thought this store is as bad as Platos Closet! I just learned the two stores are ran by the same person!!! read more

My first time here was not so great one of the employees kept following me around and would always ask if I needed help finding something, I would continue telling her I was just looking around (since I've never been & wasn't looking for nothing in particular) and I've worked retail so I knew when she kept following me and asking me if I needed help; she assumed I was there for no good. I got 5 items that I wanted to try on and this other costumer in the store had like 10 items to try on. Of course she put me to the dressing room near the surveillance camera (could they see me idk) but claimed it was bc there was better lighting while the other laid with the other items got put in a dressing room further from the cameras ( and yes the other costumer was white) she wasn't getting the same treatment I was. After I tried on my items the employee kept asking me for a basket to have my items in or if she could hold them for me I told her "no thank you" once again. I ended up seeing this nice cardigan and I wanted to try it on, so I put the previous items I tried on where I got them from, I didn't even ask she already knew I wanted to try it on. She of course came up to me and was like "if you want to try it on there is a mirror by the dressing rooms" so I went and sure enough she stood right there with me the whole time until I took it off. It was so awkward for me I told her I didn't like the fitting so she took it from me. One cardigan did catch my attention and I was debating to get it bc it was 30$! And comparing it too this pull over I had for 17$. She came up to me grabbed the two items from my hand and said "let me help you out" I ended up under pressure picking the 30$ cardigan (only bc I felt like she was taking it too far with taking the items from me) so when I was approaching the register it sounded like she wanted to accuse me of stealing she was quick to say to me "wait didn't you have three other items in your hand?!" asking me all suspicious. Mind you I've been put those back right after I tried them on. I told her "no I've been out those back and the last item I had was a jacket and I put that back too" she was like "oh..." and proceeded to check me out. Here is the thing I am not white I am Hispanic so I automatically feel like she saw me as a threat the whole time I was in the store bc I compared it to the other costumer who was white. Like I've said I worked at a clothing store and I know the signs of a shoplifter and I marked non of the boxes but there I was, being followed constantly and I didn't appreciate that. I didn't want to put up a fight bc as a person of color during these times it's scary I don't want to add on the the stereotypes or have to go through any problems with the people in this society. I'm not blaming anyone for anything nor do I feel resentment for the employee, I just wish people would see people for people we are one race which is human. And no different under the eyes of the lord (js). Does the store have nice items? Yes of course! Would I go back? Idk. read more

Dropped off my items for the first time at this store. Received text to pick up items. I didn't even get $1.00 for my items, which is fine! What bother me the most was, the owner told me she "sorted" my "brand new items with tags" and placed them in a bag to take to Plato's closet for review. The sad part is, the items she claimed she "sorted", were the same items I took in "sorted" from the used clothes. I received the same "4 brand new items"in the "same bag" I took in, "sorted" by myself. I honestly believe she never looked at my clothes! This place is a really nice second hand clothing store. Everything is perfectly organized by type, six and color, which makes it very easy to sort through. Some of the prices are a little high, but the items I bought were in perfect condition. The staff was very polite and informative, providing information about discount days and a punch card. If I could give it zero stars I would. Do not try to sell clothes to them they will give you nothing for things that you haven't even worn and claim that "sizes are missing" when they are clearly labeled on the tags. Rude employees as well. read more
