I was an online order and I'm extremely impressed with this store's communication. They were unable to find an item, so they texted right away and told me. I then received an order that was packed well and shipped quickly, but an item was damaged. When I notified them, they immediately gave me a refund with no questions asked and told me I didn't need to ship back the stained shirt. While I was disappointed to receive a stained item, the store's prompt and easy communication made up for it. I will happily buy from again. read more

I had a disappointing and confusing experience with Clothes Mentor. I brought in several high-end dresses--some were accepted, but others were rejected. What surprised me most was being told that one rejected dress didn't fit their goal of keeping up with "current styles." As I waited for their assessment, I took time to look through the store's inventory and was struck by the inconsistency. Much of the clothing on the racks appeared significantly older and more out of style than the items I had brought in. This made the rationale for rejecting certain pieces feel arbitrary rather than policy-driven. If you're bringing in quality items and expecting a fair, transparent evaluation, proceed with caution. I started cleaning out my closet a lot of my items were brand new tags still attached. Shoes that still had tags on them. For everything that I took to them I will never take anything else to them they kept at lease 600.00 if not more of items but I received 148.00 never again there was only one person that assisted me was professional and nice no one spoke when I walked in and I work retail part time and we have to greet every person that walks in. I seriously love this place, it has a HUGE selection of business clothes in all sizes from 0 - 26 and in all styles. I've really stopped shopping at major department stores when I can find similar things at Clothes Mentor from a 1/3 to a 1/4 of the cost and it's all in good condiiton. They have shoes and purses and accessories of all kinds as well and so you can find whatever you're looking for. The staff is also very helpful and they are ALWAYS so busy sorting through clothes people bring in. Although they won't buy everything you bring in, they will donate anything you don't want to take back to charity for you which was great for me because although they didn't buy much of what I brought in, I would have donated it anyway and so it saved me an extra step AND I got a little spending money to go shopping. I really recommend that you come here the next time you need clothes because it will save you a bundle and help get your wardrobe spruced up with some new additions as well. read more

I never leave reviews but felt quite compelled to leave one today. Drove all the way from Frisco with a lululemon bag full of nice new with tags items. The employee working today refused to even look at my items because they "only accept items in a plastic laundry basket due to a covid-19 policy." I politely explained that all items were new with tags or had been washed. She declined to even look at them and would not even explain the logic behind the plastic basket requirement (probably because there is none). I purchased a "Coach" wristlet from Clothes Mentor in McKinney. After a few summer months it began to melt. I went into the store today to mention it to them, and seeing as I didn't have a receipt (didn't think they were going to sell a fake - so didn't keep it for a few months), they couldn't do anything. While I understand this, the manager herself did not come out, and it was thoroughly dismissed. My advice, make sure you authenticate any wallet or bag purchase here on your own. Definitely won't be coming back. She was not friendly from the moment I stepped into that door. The buying process here is crazy. I brought in a big basket of like new and freshly dry cleaned dress pants along with dress shirts all name brand and they offered me $12. Seriously, $12 for 10+ pairs of pants that cost a minimum of $60 a pair and shirts that range from $30-70. They then tell me the rest of the stuff they can't buy because it's too old. Seriously? Have they looked at their clothes racks? They are selling Faded Glory and Mossimo (Walmart and Target) brands. As for the shopping experience it's meh...nothing special. As my first attempt to sell anything here, they were less than helpful to explain the process after I worked my way through the line of people outside and told me to haul all my stuff in and then they'd tell me how it works. - Can't you tell me how it works before you make me haul it all in? It was 3:50pm and the wait was 4 hours. If I didn't get back before they close at 8pm they would just 'donate' my clothes. NOT a pleasant experience at all. My last visit was the best experience I've, at any clothes mentor, in a VERY long time. I frequently shop at all the Clothes Mentors in the North Dallas area. I had recently had a bad experience at the Highland Village location near Flower Mound, the manager was just NOT friendly. But, Taylor (the manager at the McKinney location) completely made up for it! I was so upset with my experience at the other location i was considering not shopping at a Clothes Mentor ever again, customer service just lacks, but Taylor was so wonderful she restored my faith in Clothes Mentor. I will say the company should really gives raises or recognize great customer service when it is given, from managers like Taylor, because it seems like most the staff just is not EVER happy. Update - against my better judgment, I gave Clothes Mentor ONE MORE CHANCE the other day, with several new or nearly-new items that I wished to sell to them. I should have trusted my gut instinct and gone to "Restyle" in Frisco instead, because the entire visit to Clothes Mentor was a total BUST! I brought in several pairs of NIB designer shoes, and several excellent-quality handbags - and just as I've experienced in the past, the teenagers behind the counter bought NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM! I'm done wasting my time at this location - I recommend that if you've got high-quality clothing items you wish to sell, take them to "Restyle" on Main Street in Frisco instead, where the staff seems MUCH more knowledgeable and professional, and they're MUCH more likely to buy your high-quality designer items. Or if you're in the mood to donate good-quality professional wear to an excellent cause, go to "Dress for Success" in Dallas instead. Don't expect to be asked if you need any help, even if you're in this tiny shop with only one other customer for 30 minutes. The wait to sell clothes they said would be 4-5 hours and if you don't pick up that day they will donate your things. It took them over 6 and a half hours to complete my items which I had to come pick up the next day since it took so long only for them to tell me they could not buy my items because of "usual wear". Yes all but maybe two items in my bag were brand new still with tags on them. Lesson learned, don't bring your clothes to this place unless they're brand new. My waiting was less than 1 and half hour, so I went to do grocery shopping near this shop and looked around the plaza then came back but they did not even look at my bags although it was already nearly 1 and half hour. Then I asked, how long is the waiting again and they said 30 more mins. Well, after 30 more mins, nothing happened so i had to step up to the counter again. Not even saying sorry. Just another Goodwill Store. I'm repeating EXACTLY what Rochelle C. wrote because I had the EXACT same experience. Also want to add, before buying from you they mandate that you enter your drivers license, home address, and a phone number into a little iPad that sets at the front counter for anyone to steal and have access to personal information that I KNOW they don't have a security handle on. Ridiculous. Now...after doing all they asked me to...they only kept 2 items from a large bag I brought in. They were several years old and the reason she said she couldn't except the other items was because they really have to keep a handle on the 2 year old criteria. Really? I told myself to try it out. I am so glad I found this place! I just recently moved here and have a new job where I am not allowed to wear scrubs, so I basically need a whole new wardrobe. They have really nice professional (brand name) clothes for cheap! And they have all sizes from 0-26. I am a size 0-2 so always hard to find my size in pants. Give yourself some time to pick through clothes, but you are sure to find some gems. I got 2 business pants, 3 business shirts and 1 sweater for under $95. They also have accessories (purses, shoes, jewelry, etc). I will return here for all my work clothes! Staff is also very friendly. A+ read more
