After having them held for a short time, she decided to purchase. We got home and she looked them up online. Turns out they marked them up about 40% and then sold them for pretty much the same price we saw them on multiple websites, including the Lucchese website. I really hate dishonesty. My friend wanted to return them just b/c of the deception, but their horrid return policy meant she was stuck with them and a bad feeling in her gut for believing a small business in our great downtown area! I literally come in once every 6-8 weeks, so not sure why I deserved a welcome like that. My previous visit back in November the worker actually said "are trying to ruin my vacation?" Because I suppose they didn't want too many clothes to review before the holiday. It was one bag. Not sure why they are so critical to the people literally bringing in all of the items they need to run a business.

I think 15 years ago it was a tearoom and dead on arrival. Not anymore. I peaked around the corner to see what's the deal Lucille and see about 50 people having lunch. Obviously, someone has engineered a successful restaurant in here I came here trying to find someone interested in buying things I have for sale. It is exactly the type place I needed to be. A nicely currated group of " booths" with ,No Junk! That's right,this place is not a waste of time but a legit source of vintage/ antique collectables. Including furniture,figurines,lamps,mink coats,silver items etc etc. I did infact find a dealer that made me an offer on my stuff and a couple of more to contact about my other stuff. It's hard to sell things these days as interest has wained in with the younger generation. High Street Antiques is perfectly positioned to capture the target audience for those remaining appreciative and desirus of " Old, Lovingly Used, Sentimental" stuff. Today I purchased from 2 lovely booths that carried my Love Language...Blue & White, cause you see, that's my blood type. The first booth did not have a name, but it was 3 Ladies who were shushing up their booth, one name I did catch was Donna Day. The other booth was Ranch House Blooms. Both booths had lovely items of blue & white. Can't wait to purchase some plate hangers to hang my new flow blue plates which I cherish. Checkout my photo. However... as I was looking for a place to just lightly clean one of my late father's watches, I found my reception to be somewhat insensitive. My dad's watch is just an old beat up gold plated, 1961 Bulova. All I wanted was a light clean so I could wear it. I was told since it's not a "Rolex or Cartier" and that's all their watch guy works on, and I should just get a rag and lightly clean it myself. This watch was not about its monetary value, but the sentimental value. I know where not to take my Breitling--and his Rolex, should I ever need a repair. The guy behind the counter stating: "this is just gold plate" as if I didn't already know, was an absolute insult. I didn't ask fo an appraisal; I just wanted to wear the watch my dad wore when I was a child. I'm sure they do good work... but sometimes it's better to just say, "I'm sorry, we don't, but I recommend "business xx" for the service you're looking for." Instead of rubbing on the watch and basically saying, "we don't handle cheap watches." Just another reason I rarely go to downtown McKinney, even though I've lived here for more than 20 years.
