I'm a fan of Cloud 9. I've been coming here since it was located in The Grace Inn across the freeway from the current location. I also went to the Chandler on Gilbert Road when it was open. My husband gets me gift cards for spa days several times a year and I completely enjoy my time there, always. This spa day was almost perfect too but unfortunately they did my nails and toes before my facial and they both got messed up. The manicurist said she'd fix them if that happened. She was nowhere to be found when I finished. I wanted to return the next day but I was leaving for a long trip and didn't have time. I called and spoke with Melissa and she assured me that when I return there will be a gift card waiting for me. I appreciate that amazing service. I will be back soon. read more

Kayla is amazing!! She did my hair exactly how I wanted. Touched up an old balayage I had that was more of a caramel brown/blonde and gave it some much life and vibrance. She cut three inches off as well, which was much needed and curled it to perfection. Other stylists around me were super friendly and stopped to chat. Overall, I would recommend to anyone! read more

I did some research on great stylists in Tempe because I am new(ish)to Arizona. I am pretty picky when it comes to the color of my hair and have been flying back to Kansas to get it done up until now. I found Cloud Nine Salon and Spa and dug a little deeper and looked at some of the stylists and saw that Jocelyn was good at balayage and my hair desperately needed a touch up. I called and made an appointment and luckily she had availability the next day. I got in and she completely upgraded my color. I've gotten so many compliments already, the color looks amazing! She knows what color will match your skin tone and what cut will work with your face shape. I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking for experienced colorists. They BUTCHERED MY HAIR!! First iff, my hairstylist was not nice and she seemed mad that i came in for my appointment. She did not greet me back when i said hi and when she washed my hair she just threw the wet hair on my shirt and it got on my face too. She was so rude to me. I kept trying to tell and explain to her in detail what i wanted to get and she kept dismissing my explanations and attempt to show her pictures of the hair cut i liked. After i told her and explained that i wanted curtain bangs she ignored me and started giving me regular straight bangs to which i stopped her and told her thats not what i wanted. She then proceeded to give me layers that i did NOT ASK FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. She said she did it bc she thought it would match well and after she was done it looked like i had a mullet :( she literally said right after ," i liked it before" then tried to cut more to fix it but it keep getting worse so i stopped her. She also did not want to make conversation and i felt so uneased and anxious there. Did not have a good experience and cried about my hair after. She was a lady with brown hair, glasses, and in her mid 40s. She didnt bother to tell me her name when i tried greeting her but i would not go here :( read more

I got such a good haircut here! The last time I got my haircut (somewhere else) I felt like my layers came out weird and awful, so I asked the stylist her to fix them and she did an amazing job! The salon is also really cool and everyone is friendly. Everyone wears masks, temperature is taken and sanitizer is given at the door. read more

Do yourself a favor and go see Kayla! She is great with color and cuts and will make your day with her sweet personality! Also, their prices are much more affordable than most salon/spas. Every person my mom and I interacted with were extremely kind and attentive. It was our first spa day ever and we cannot wait to go back! We got a massage, facial, and mani/pedi all which meet or exceeded our expectations. Penny is awesome and was helpful every step of the spa day. She was always checking in to ensure everything was perfect! The facility was clean and you could tell proper sanitation was practiced. They had the most reasonable prices from Tempe to Buckeye and while sometimes the reasonable options aren't the best, that is the opposite here. Felt like I got more than my money's worth and left feeling insanely relaxed. I will recommend this place to all my friends and family. read more

I wish I can give 0 stars!! Me worst experience today when I visited the salon for root color. The hair stylist ( she just joined a month ago) seated me at her station which happened to be in the cubby hole all the way in the back next to a restroom ( foot away)! It was dark, dingy and smelly. It was disgusting to say the least. I was very uncomfortable and upset at the way I was treated. Later half, I requested to be moved to a different station next to the window. The salon was not crowded and there were many vacant stations!! I complained at the payment counter and she immediately notified the owner. The owner's response was very strange & did not address the issue, also did not apologize nor cared, instead she vaguely mentioned that she is planning to remodel the salon in the foreseeable future!! Pretty clueless!! Hmmmm... does she think I will be back again. She thought she is doing me a favor by providing subpar service. Shocking customer service!! read more

Outstanding experience - from beginning to end. I was running a few minutes behind and when I called to let the salon know, they offered me a new appointment time 15 mins later from the original time - so helpful. When I arrived, I was greeted by sweet ladies at the front desk who offered me coffee or tea! This salon is warm, welcoming and beautiful. Jocelyn was my stylist and did an amazing job! She turned my drab brown into sun kissed natural highlights - exactly what I wanted. She asked me questions throughout the process to ensure she was creating the look I was after. My daughter and I were on vacation this past week and I was in desperate need of a trim and conditioning treatment. We stopped in Cloud Nine and they were able to take me right away. The woman at the front desk was so professional and accommodating. We also met the manager who was lovey. They set me up with Naneth. She was beyond wonderful and completely exceeded my expectations. As you can see from the before and after photos, my hair looks a hundred times better. I wish I could fly her to Chicago every 6 weeks. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Courtney is amazing PERIOD!! I have never been sooo in love with my hair. Went in for a hair cut and she did a phenomenal job. Listened to what I wanted and then worked her magic. Then we talked about frizz so I did a Brazilian blow out and it was worth every penny. I have an appointment for color and I know she won't disappoint. The salon itself is clean and aesthetically pleasing. I live about an hour away but Courtney is worth the drive. Everyone is so nice and I feel so welcomed every time I come in. (Forgive any name misspellings please!) Sky was great with helping me get scheduled and checked in, despite the fact I wasn't the most coherent due to background noise and being very tired. Lovely, patient and helpful. Same thing with checkout when I did my usual struggling to figure out the right tip to leave, not being American myself. Usually Feri does my brows and is awesome, warm, and just great- I say more in past reviews- today she wasn't available at the requested time, sadly. Today Zara did my brows- she was also warm and just a truly amazing, caring woman, it came across even in the short time we had together. I think she's a really special person. I can't say if either is "better" - only that both are amazing and whoever you get, it's a perfect place for your brows- both do amazing job, never too much, very caring and careful and even though I only had minor redness and irritation both women have taken the time to go back and put on some ointment or lotion that has really soothed me. Beautiful women, truly. Danielle was great, I imagine she's a manager or customer comfort type person? (Sorry I don't know your title!) but she was just super friendly and patient and kind and attentive. Very nice lady, and as with the others, warm, which is super important to me. Just helped create a great vibe. Finally, as always, (see my last review for more focussed stuff on her specifically,) Joselyn was fabulous and did an awesome job, was good to chat with and really really great and sensitive about accommodating me; I have some medical stuff that makes a few things tricky, like holding my head up for a minute during a rinse- she knows that and is fine holding the full weight of my head carefully, while still rinsing well. (That may sound small but to anyone with any medical stuff I think they can appreciate how much it means.) As I said, see past reviews for more on her, but really excellent and I trust her to choose the right shades etc- and adding to her awesomeness is the fact she remembers talks we had a year ago, and another ~6 months before that- crazy. Great person. Thanks to everyone there, you were all just great- at your jobs and at being warm, which is just so nice to see that much of in any single place. read more

Booked an appointment and the staff was very nice. I had never been in before and kiara was my Stylist. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and asked her if she could curl my hair which she did. She didn't let me see my hair after she cut it and before the curls so I wasn't even sure what it looked like. She put curls in and it looked good. Was shorter then I wanted but still seemed okay. When I took a shower and was able to see the cut I almost broke into tears of how bad the layers were and the chopping of my hair. Some parts have texturized ends and others are a blunt cut off. I was so excited to get a cute cut and now I'm devastated with the outcome. Just spent 50$ on a poor cut and getting it fixed is going to be more money and a loss of all the hair I had just grown UPDATE: They did give me a call and were very nice and gave me a full refund for the cut and I really did appreciate that. The staff does seem very nice from my experience other than the cut so I recommend looking into the stylist's work before picking someone which was my mistake. In the end after getting it fixed by my previous stylist, hair grows back and they were very nice helping me resolve the situation. read more

I was charged for a full highlight and cut but was given a partial highlight and told the prices had increased but hadn't been updated on the website. If that's true this place is priced as an upscale salon. I booked a full highlight but the stylist said she didn't have time. I asked for shadow root but didn't get it and the layers are so choppy that I cannot wear my hair straight until I get it fixed. I won't get it fixed at this salon because I have no confidence in their ability to do it. read more
