Lanae is AMAZING. I'm usually really scared to even get a small trim. I have long hair and SUPER thick. When I get my hair worked on literally everyone almost complains how much work my hair is which extremely uncomfortable. I went to Lanae wanting more than your average trim. She was very professional, made me feel like I was talking to one of my girlfriends. I felt super comfortable the whole time and never once did she mention how my hair was a lot. I've been to Cloud 9 twice in the last week. First for a Brazilian blowout/straightening and then for a haircut. Both were done by Heather. I can't say enough great things about her. The staff is super helpful and accommodating! Everyone I interacted with was very nice. Great massage, sadly it just wasn't long enough! . Also, had a blowout, not as satisfied with this service. Stylist asked what I wanted, my response was some height and curl at the bottom for a toasted look. She then just blew out my hair super straight and curled it with a flat iron which didn't hold. A good blow out should last a few days, I'm on day two and I need to do my hair. read more

I was able to walk in and get an appointment for a pedicure which was wonderful. However, the pedicure itself did not include a calf or foot massage (not even a minute of either), my toenails were painted and immediately an extreme about of cuticle oil was applied (it dripped all over my flip flop sandals). I was told I could leave immediately after or sit in a chair until my nails naturally dried, either would be "fine". After 30 minutes of carefulness, I put on a pair of shoes and the nail polish still wasn't dry so the entire pedicure was ruined. Sad. I would not have paid $5 for it if I were to do it over again. read more

I am new to Tempe having moved here from Prescott at the beginning of August. My hair was overgrown and in dire need of a haircut. Salon choices in a small town like Prescott are limited to the chains (Great Clips, where the clips aren't that great) and some privately owned salons. I looked on Yelp for recommendations of salons in Tempe and decided to give Cloud 9 a try. My appointment was with Jaki. I first met with her about three weeks ago for a free consult. She was very friendly and listened to what I wanted to do with my hair. I brought pictures of a haircut from three different angles to give her a good idea of what I wanted. She was confident that she could duplicate the cut and did she ever! I had my cut just yesterday and I can honestly say that Jaki is the first stylist I have been to in years who actually cut my hair just like the picture. She absolutely nailed it! From the length to the layers, my new cut is spot on and I love it! I should mention that yesterday was not a good day prior to my appointment. I had a rough day at work and was not in the best mood when I arrived at the salon. One of the ladies at the front desk asked if I'd like to sit in their relaxation room while waiting for Jaki. After two cups of very refreshing lemon water and three pieces of yummy chocolate, I started to feel better. By the time I walked out of there, I felt like a million bucks! I cannot thank Cloud 9 and Jaki enough for giving me such a positive and uplifting end to a rough day! Thank you ladies and I will be back! My first time here! I was nervous of course but excited. It took me awhile to find a good stylist, I have lived in Arizona for about a year now. I scheduled online just wanted to get in this week. I was scheduled with Courtney and she blew it out of the water! I previously had uneven ends and a very bad choppy hair cut from a week ago so I was a bit timid at first. But she was very friendly, nice and clearly knew how to do her job. Unlike the other salons I have been to. She would talk and get to know me and still could multi-task by cutting my hair. So sad, if I could give negative stars I would. I drive about 6 hours due to all of the chaos I had to deal with due to the trouble with my hair. I am not licensed and have no idea about hair, I went to this salon and got a consultation for a perm because my hair is so flat, I have had one in the past on bleached hair when I was younger with no damage. After the consultation I went back a week later for the perm. My hair is destroyed, gum to the touch. So bad I posted it in a Facebook hair group and a very professional hair dresser reached out to me and told me to come into their salon for free to fix it. My hair is was so bad I could not shower for a week. Only body showers, if I was not reached out to by the other hairdresser for correction it would have been a chemical cut. Do not recommend at all. My hair is STILL gummy to the touch even after the treatments that were given by my he girl who corrected it. The damage is all the way to the root, I have to regrow my entire head of hair and can not dye or bleach it at all. I'm devastated read more

I love how my hair turned out! I was looking for a new salon in the area and came across Cloud9 so I decided to make an appointment, when I made my appointment the receptionist did not ask me my hair length which I think should of been asked considering I wanted a balayage since I have fairly long hair. My appointment was at 3 and I ended up still being in the salon getting my hair done after they closed. Thea who did my hair did such a wonderful job and was so patient and nice considering she had to stay longer than close time. I've given this place a couple chances. They have tiered stylists but I think they need to find stylist that are capable of actually performing the job they are given. Level 1 shouldn't mean someone who can't do a good job. I had to fix things myself and it's not worth the price. Visited this place for the first time today $70 for a hot stone massage $55 for a swedish massage (both 50 minutes) I opted for the hot stone, by main man got the swedish massage. Since we're a bonafide couple, they put us in the couples suite! It was super fun. We were a couple feet apart from each other. I was supposed to get a pedicure right afterwards, but the nail tech was running late and I couldn't wait. They were very apologetic, and gave me a gift card as an apology! AWESOME I love places that have great customer service. They also have a special where for $165 you get 1 hour massage 1 hour facial pedicure/manicure and lunch AWESOME prices The place looks brand new, is in a fancy space, and is very relaxing. Had family recently in town so I wanted to treat two ladies and myself to a 'spa experience' nearby. I selected this place because I've been here before for hair and nails and the atmopshere is very nice and relaxing and the staff and personnel have also been enjoyable. Sadly, they were all booked up for manis or pedis, so I could only get us 3 gals for a 1hr massage... bummer. The facility inside is a nice, welcoming, calm, relaxing space; note however that during massage sessions, you can hear a LOT of chit-chat and noises because it seems the massage rooms have thin walls and no signage outside that reminds staff to keep it down. It makes it harder to relax. Massage personnel varied a lot in experience. The gal I got assigned to looked not even a day over 18. She was a bit awkward with massage movments and generally seemed very inexperienced and not very comfortable with her job. My other two guests commented how their therapists were amazing and seemed very experienced and thorough. I know next time to ask for a more experienced gal. Prices were very reasonable ($55 for 50 min) and front desk staff and therapists were friendly; Facility is modern and relaxing and not snobby or pretentious, so it's very comfortable. I would return here for other spa treatments.. but honestly, for my massages, I'll stick to my gal at LaVida.. read more

Just wanted to first point out that Annika did my hair. I got a cut and partial highlights, she did an awesome job. She was very friendly and engaged in conversation, all while taking her time to work on what I exactly wanted with my hair. I am very satisfied by her service and time well spent to make my request exactly what I wanted. The reason why I took two stars off is because of the ambiance and unwelcoming feeling I got from this location. I first walked in and there were two receptionist at the front. The first girl I made contact with, she looked at me smirked and went back to working. I thought maybe she was looking something up real quick, then after a minute or so went by I just moved over to the next receptionist and had to acknowledge myself. Did not feel very welcomed by the two lady's in the front. The salon was nice and clean. However, It felt kind of boring. No real background music. The stylist seemed like they hated each other or something...no one talked to one another and I rarely saw a smile on any of the stylist, except for Annika, she seemed like the friendliest one there. I just moved from California, so I am on the hunt for my new norm hair salon/stylist. My old salon back home was very upbeat, everyone was always talking to each other, smiling, creating a good customer experience, all while doing a great job on my hair. This salon was just okay, simply because Annika was great...but not enough to become a regular. I just didn't feel at ease with the whole experience and ambiance of Cloud Nine. I'm confident that I can find a salon in AZ with great stylist as well as a welcoming feel. read more
