This is my neighborhood shop, I have been going here for 8 years and I love it, the coffee is great, and it's so nice to have a coffee shop with solid, stomach-filling FOOD available. There is just one barista, however, who is currently making weak Americanos-- such a bummer when I am waiting for my yummy Cloud City cup and it's clearly just not the same as usual and a waste of money compared to drip. Also have to agree with previous review on cleanliness. It's great that it's a family atmosphere and I love seeing all the kids, but I have to admit I no longer hang out in there because it's just a little dirty, crowded and loud. Their bacon breakfast burrito is my go to when I have to get to work early-it's super quick. If I work overnight, I stop by on my way home to get a hot chocolate and English muffin breakfast sandwich. The baked goods like cinnamon rolls and coconut bread are yummy and a good casual cafe spot when you have visitors. I've had their lunch sammies to go for a hike or road trip and they're filling and tasty. Delicious food, good coffee drinks and smoothies, and the staff is super personable. I love this place. It's definitely a place I feel good about giving my business to. It's funky with a Seattle vibe, nestled quaintly in the Maple Leaf neighborhood. You can tell it's a neighborhood staple. My boyfriend and I stop in frequently for their breakfast sandwiches and coconut bread. Yum! Their food is consistently good with reasonable prices and good atmosphere. We took some friends in from out of town recently, one of which got the Cuban sandwich. It looked so good! This place is really impressive! I had a drip coffee (brought my own cup so it was only $1) and a turkey, egg, and swiss cheese sandwich on a plain bagel. You can customize your sandwich which is nice. The turkey was REAL, and not the cheap cold cut "turkey" crap! This is by far the best coffee shop in Maple Leaf - I just wish I lived a couple blocks closer - I'd be there every day for my morning brew. They have a few large tables if you want to meet friends, bring a laptop, or whatever. Their coffee honor bar is a fantastic idea and one of the main reasons I'll go here when I'm in a hurry. Go here for the food, perhaps not the drink. My husband and I love to go to different lunch spots and get take-out and coffee (for him) and chai latte (for me). Our soup, salad, and sandwiches (cuban, turkey delight) were very fresh, and super yummy! But the drinks were very disappointing. The iced caramel latte was lacking in flavor and tasted a bit stale. Just nothing special. And if you're a big chai latte fan then you will be disappointed -- I found it to be more like spicy chai tea -- watery and not very latte-like. I prefer a sweeter chai (like Oregon chai), and thus threw this one away and made my own when I got home. If the drinks were better we'd be back, but unfortunately this won't be added to our list of regular go-to places. read more

My recent visit to Cloud City Coffee shocked me. I ordered Peach Muffins to go. When I arrived to work, I discovered in the box it was a pie of some sort, not the Peach Muffin I ordered. After work, I came back to Cloud City Coffee to speak with a person I got it from. A different person approached me and said that I could not park on their premises. I explained that I bought the food from them. He repeated the same phrase with a strong, angry voice. "Do not park here." He sounded like an owner of the Cafe. After he walked away, I waved to the friendly staff member I got the food from and asked him what kind of pie it was. He kindly told me it was a pineapple cream pie. I asked him what was the parking situation about. He explained that they do not want car parked while they were closing up. read more

The Coconut bread alone is worth a star or two. Huge and sinfully delicious! Seriously though Cloud city has a nice neighborhood atmosphere. The pastries are a big cut above what you'll find at Starbucks. The trouble is, the coffee's just not that good. At least the drip stuff. We are lucky enough to live very close to this coffee shop. The coffee is delicious and the baked goods make me salivate just thinking about them; however, the best part of the shop is it's kid friendly atmosphere. There is a designated kids' corner with books, toys and a comfy couch perfect for sipping coffee while watching the little ones play. Fantastic coffee fantastic service, super quick despite the fact that there was one cashier and 5 people in front of me I was still done within ten minutes. And this girl was the barista as well. Give her a raise. The only reason I give a four is that my to go breakfast burritos tortilla was all soggy, the contents were fantastic tho, I think maybe a tortilla change would be good, or different prep. Keep re-trying this place and they keep disappointing. 35 minutes for a breakfast sandwich. Their breakfast burritos are gross - ours came to us all slimey. We brought it back in and they agreed it looked bad. BUT THEN WHY SERVE IT?! Cinnamon rolls are hard, even when warmed up. We have tried to give them constructive, friendly feed back but they just keep serving bad food. Not worth your time or money. read more
