It's also getting to be where you don't need a human any more, dare I say it. Even Chevron has an automatic espresso maker, and soo there will be a day when there will be no more baristas, only a space with automatic coffeemakers that do everything; thus eliminating the need to tip. Today's barista's just fill the machine with beans, push a couple of buttons, and put the coffee in the milk and they're done. $25.00 an hour for that? No way. That's not even a skill. Standard Starbucks in a convenient location. The cashier and baristas were super nice and helpful. My order was correct and drink was made perfect with light ice! I appreciate they have drive thru option and free parking in front next to the gas station and a taco truck. Inside there is no seating but they have a wide table you could stand and eat quick if needed. Condiment bar in the lobby with trash can, utensils, napkins, all the usual stuff. I walked in around 12 lunch time and they had plenty of lunch and breakfast food items still available. However my experience parking in front wasn't fun so maybe just do the drive thru if you don't want your door hit or to worry about that. The customers here are rude. This woman flung her door in anger after she zoomed into the spot next to me and I could tell if I didn't back up right away which I already was beginning to until she sped into the spot to my right she would probably hit my door. So I backed out immediately after she parked and she looked mad I didn't wait for her to exit her car and she flung her door wide open angrily. Luckily I backed out or like I said she would've hit my door and that would have been a situation...not Starbucks fault people suck. But keep in mind drive thru is the better option here. Drive through and pickup only. This was my local "safe place" to meet people for buying/selling items from local classified ads. But a few years ago they ripped out all the seating (and closed all the other nearby Starbucks that had seating), so now there are literally NO coffee shops or tea shops within walking distance of this super high traffic neighborhood. This Starbucks is one of the only locations open after 6pm in the area (it is open 24hrs), so it gets very popular in the evenings. I placed an order through the app around 7/8pm, and was given in-store or drive through as the pickup options. I selected in-store pickup, and when I showed up there was a line of cars backed up almost onto Northgate Way (it's a busy road, right near a freeway on/offramp). Luckily I had in store pickup and could bypass the line! Right?! Not so much. I parked and walked up to the doors, to find that they were locked. There were employees inside, but I don't think they noticed me and I wasn't about to try and bang on the door or break my way in since the store was clearly closed to customers. So I get back in my car, and to my dismay found that the drive through line is now backed up INTO the road and cars are waiting in the turning lane. Due to the traffic, line of cars, and location, I had to drive several blocks away before I could turn around and get back to the Starbucks drive through. By this time the line had died down, thankfully. I had ordered a short blonde drip - when I got to the window they told me they were out of short cups so they put it in a tall cup instead (no big deal). Anyway, none of this so far is really where the low stars come in. The pickup options could be an app problem (and also, COVID), and you can't really blame them for how busy the drive through is or if they run out of cups. Here is where the 2 stars come in - I drove off with my coffee, and then took a sip and it was DISGUSTING. It was so burnt and bitter that I could barely drink it (and I am not a coffee connoisseur by any means - I can drink almost anything and be fine with it, even the crappy motel lobby stuff in styrofoam cups). Besides, people order blonde roasts specifically because it is smoother and lighter than a darker roast. This was the opposite. But as I said, I'm not a picky coffee drinker and I had to jump through hoops and traffic and drive through lines to get this damn cup of coffee, so I powered through. As I got to the bottom, I was rewarded with a nice sludgy surprise. Anyway, I was very disappointed by this experience. I'd clearly gotten some burnt, bottom of the barrel, old-ass coffee, very off par to all my previous Starbucks experiences which have been consistently neutral/satisfactory. read more

I had a few minutes between meetings and stopped at this Starbucks to grab a coffee and get some work done. There were no tables, but there was a standing counter. I ordered my drink, headed to the counter, and pulled out my laptop. Five minutes later -- while I was still drinking my coffee -- one of the employees came over to me and told me that I couldn't remain. She explained that this was a "grab-and-go Starbucks." I had my order, and now I "needed to go." Since I was the only customer there, I was a bit surprised. I told her I only had a few minutes between meetings, and she said I needed to "spend them somewhere else." I told her that I was happy to take my business elsewhere. I'd always believed Starbucks was supposed to be a third place where anyone was welcome, and if that was no longer true, I wouldn't be returning. Kicking out a paying customer in an empty store five minutes after they've received their drink is insane. I don't blame the woman; she was just trying to do her job. But if this is how Starbucks treats paying customers, it's no wonder they're flailing. Luckily, the McDonalds next door was more than happy to take my business and let me remain. I would give a 0 star rating if available. I had the most embarrassing and humiliating experience at a coffee shop. I needed to make use of the toiled while my spouse ordered some drinks. While in the middle of doing my business a woman locked hard on the door and informed me my 10 min time limit was up and I had 1 min left to exit the restroom. Kicked out of the restroom by store manager Jessica. She stated there is a new Starbucks policy that limits use of their restrooms to 10 mins. I later learned from a different store manager that the "policy " is meant for people who abuse the use of the restroom. Meaning homeless people. If this is a real policy customer must be informed before going is or a at least a sign posted on the wall. No one, not even homeless people should be asked to exit the restroom while doing the business. read more

for my job I drive around all day, making sales calls, have been doing so for the last few years. And the entire time doing that I have never been asked to leave a Starbucks before. I went to this Starbucks which didn't have any chairs, but they had a countertop, so I open my laptop to check a message real quick before I bought my coffee. A woman named Jessica, I imagine the manager, came up and asked me to leave because I wasn't able to stay there. She said it's a grab and go location, been that way for the last 4 years. She said it was because of max capacity limits for the building, but I'm not sure how that's possible cause technically you might have 20 people walk in the building at any given moment and go over said said capacity. Like I just can't believe I was asked to leave no "hey how long are you intending to stay", nothing, just "you can't be here." it's hard enough to find a Starbucks that even has a table to sit at nowadays, let alone one where they have a countertop set up that's unusable. i'm a firm believer you can say anything, as long as you have the right tone of voice. I came here on a whim because I was in dire need of caffeine! This was a drive-thru experience. I don't know if there is an interior or not. The downside to this location is that it's not very visible. It's behind a gas station in a busy area. There's a lot of traffic in the area, as well as the cars wanting to get gas. Although it can be quite busy, the line moved faster than I expected. When I got to the order spot, I was greeted by one of the baristas. In some drive thrus it can be very difficult to hear the order taker. Not here. It's clear as day. The order taking process was simple and straightforward. When I went to pay, the lady helping me was quite friendly. I don't know about you, but positive vibes in the morning help! The food is a horror if they have a hand in preparing it. Opt for prefab stuff, that the employees don't have to make or manipulate, like pastries or pre-made salads and sandwiches. I ordered a spinach feta wrap based solely on the description and picture. What I received looked like it had been thrown across the room or stepped on, and was so hot it could not be held, let alone consumed, safely. The tortilla was dry and hard at the edges. Disgusting! THIS. This is why Starbucks needs to go away. They have no scruples about dishing up crap. I only really go to Starbucks for the sous vide egg bites. (I have to clarify this so other true Seattleites know I'm not into Starbucks' coffee.) BUT... I do frequent the drive-thru for those sous vide egg bites--and the staff is always incredibly friendly. At a critical intersection on the I-5 corridor, they're often VERY busy, and the staff always holds it down (and holds it together). While sometimes the line is long, they're always super rad. Protip: If the drive-thru line is backed up into the gas station area, it will be quicker to park, make a mobile order from your car, and run in. ;) read more

The weight of holding each cup in my hand, alone, was a firm giveaway. I asked for chai lattes with whole milk and no water. Never been inside, I always go through the drive thru. But every time I go, it's always the sweetest people. I usually come around 4-5 am on days I work morning shift but service is still spot on. There was a time I was terribly sick and my throat prevented me from talking normally and sounded like a raspy cat. The lady was so understanding and sweet. I have been coming here for years. I normally just get a Trenta iced coffee. I decided today to try their blond roast drink. It was good until I had order. The gentlemen made it more confusing then it had to. All I wanted was a Trent's version and he charged me for the extra shot and some other add-ons. I got the drink and tried to explain to him that I wanted to transfer the balance to a gift card that had $15.00 to my other card I had. Simple right? Nope! He charged the gift card instead of transferring the balance. He did not listen to me and I am pretty sure he over charged me. I did not get any of my rewards points on my Starbucks card. When I asked him about the points, his answer was it is on the gift card! What? Now why on earth would I use the gift card that is useless after it is all gone. Am I really going to carry 2 cards 1 with all my stars and 1 with the stars that I only bought the 1 drink on? 1 word of advice. Listen to your customer. As a former (non-Starbucks) barista myself, and a regular Starbucks customer, I have to say this is probably one of the best Starbucks locations in the Seattle area. My food and drink are rarely, if ever, made incorrectly. Whether going inside to order or using the drive through, the baristas always get my order to me in a timely fashion, no matter how long of a line they have. As well as being quick and efficient, they are also very friendly and personable. I frequent this particular location at least 5 times a week and it's always a good experience. They also recently got a remodel and the store looks great. I'm very happy with the service I receive here and will continue to frequent this location in the future. read more

There's one on Northgate way just off of I-5. It's just behind the gas station. On my wee morning drives to Eastern Washington, this 24hour drive thru saved me many times. Starbucks used to be the gold standard for consistency. You always had a happy smiling barista make you the exact drink you wanted, and it always tasted the same. Over the last few years I've experienced a lot of burned beans (bitter coffee), scalded milk, too sweet or not sweet energy know what I mean. I appreciate this location because of it's drive-through, sometimes I don't want to lug my chair out of my chair, put it together, go in, get drink, go back to car, etc. It's nice just to pull up to a window and get what I want. I also appreciate that you generally still encounter happy, friendly baristas - no greasy haired snearing hipsters here (yes, I want decaf, and no that's not a travesty). A tip - be a vigilant consumer - if you want your coffee really sweet, let them know. If you want it sweetened, but not super sweet, let them know. You can specify anything, and they almost always can do it. I guess they can't really do anything about the burnt bean taste - but that isn't always there. read more
