Second time here. Super impressed. Nice community vibe, lovely baristas, tasty food, and great drinks. I'm addicted to their matcha lattes (not sweet, real matcha, choose-your-own-milk), but I'm told on good authority (my "what's that tea thing?" coffee loving husband) that the coffee is also good. Their breakfast sandwich game is on point (I had egg and cheese with avocado on bagel), plus they have great lunch sammies and rotating quiches. But hold the presses...today I tried one of their in-house vegan cake donuts. Every time I have donuts I regret it. The grease, the feeling of shame at having wasted perfectly good calories on an ill thought-out whim...the reality of most donuts just doesn't live up to (my) expectation. But not here. Just in case this is ambiguous to any reader: THESE ARE REALLY FREAKING GOOD DONUTS. I have never had donuts like these. Perhaps purists would not call them donuts. They can give me their plateful of light fluffy flavorful right-sized Cloud City donuts and I will take care of that problem for them. Seriously. So. good. No regrets. So good. This place is really cute. They have quite a number of options for drinks and eats. The vibe of the place is very focused but welcoming. Parking here is a small lot which I somehow got lucky with finding a spot. Aside from that there seems to be street parking which may or may not be metered. They having an array of drink sizes. They also have a seasonal drink menu including but not limited to a real pumpkin puree pumpkin latte, and some other delicious choices which I forget. You can also order custom sandwiches which I got their hummus wrap which was really really good. Next time in the area I'm going to check it out again. read more

Whoever made my latte did a wonderful job because it was one of the best lattes I have ever had in ma life. Yummy foam! Decent stop for a breakfast bite to eat after a walk around Green Lake. Breakfast bagel sandwiches were decent and prices not bad unless you want to do add-ons, then it can get a little pricey. Scone was very good. Macchiato was not very hot but will know to ask for hotter on my next visit. Staff was friendly and speed of food arrival was acceptable. read more

I've been a Cloud City regular for years. The pandemic has changed Cloud City like any other restaurant but I remain impressed with the team, food, and coffee. Here's a few tips on how to get the most out of your Cloud City experience: -Cloud City takes your (and their) safety seriously, so bring a mask, wear it over your nose and mouth, enter from the Roosevelt Way side. The space is well ventilated, meaning significantly more safety than your average coffee shop. -Order on the Joe app in advance to get items ready when you pick up (give it about 7-10 minutes before you arrive, longer at peak coffee hours). -They've got covered, outdoor seating and a covered waiting area, perfect for drizzly days. Keep your mask on in the waiting area and don't crowd the pick up table/shelf. -Cloud City has its full menu back--solid sandwiches, quiche, and, French citizen-approved croissants. Seriously good croissants. -The Joe App parking spots are handy for quick, socially distanced pick up and waiting. -Staff are still super friendly and helpful, but wait times are a little bit more with Covid safety in place. All the more reason to order via app. -Cloud City beans to-go are delicious for WFM days and we like their expanding selection of retail items. -If they've got key lime tarts or tiramisu mini cupcakes, you're in luck. DELICIOUS. Came to town to visit some family and decided to stop in on the way to our destination. The line was super long but it was absolutely worth the wait. If you're every passing through, make sure you stop by. I had the Turkey sandwich, and i absolutely loved it. The mix of Pesto and Cranberry Cream cheese was great addition to the Deli shaved turkey and sourdough. I definitely will be stoping by to try the Cuban on my way home tomorrow. read more

I have visited this café multiple times to meet friends. Each time I have been pleased with my drinks and food. Their coffee is locally roasted from Tony's in Bellingham, roasters since 1971. If you love their coffee, you can buy it either whole bean or ground to order. They offer the usual specialty drinks plus a self-serve drip coffee honour bar: $1 for 8 oz, or if you bring your own 16 oz, it's still one dollar! The honour bar offers our varieties available daily: a decaf blend and three rotating blends including dark roast and a single origin coffee. CCC loves their regulars! If you buy 10 pre-paid espresso drinks, you can save 30% off! If you have a go-to drink, buy 10 of that variety, you pay for only 7 of them! How cool is that? Feeling snacky? You are in for a treat. They make nearly everything in-house or it's locally sourced from neighbouring businesses. Breakfast sandwiches and burritos are available in addition to full sandwiches (made to order), or split sandwiches with soup or salad. All sandwiches include your choice of a small bag of chips or a small house salad. There are frittatas and quiches available every day, with 8 varieties available (4 veg and 4 meat). Just moved to the neighborhood and was exhausted from setting up the new place so opted for a quick coffee spot for easy food before work the other day. I was not expecting to run into such an eclectic spot with an tasty pastry case. The coffee is spot on, I ordered a latte and was more than pleased. The sandwiches are filling and the ingredients are quality. If I have a chance to dine in next time I'll ask for my sandwich hot. The vibe of the cafe seems community orientated with people camping out to blast through a few emails, work on group projects together, or just socialize. The layout is inviting and comfortable. Good coffee, decent selection of baked goods, friendly employees. I'd have given this place a much higher rating if I hadn't come here specifically to try out the kid play area. This is really more of a nook right in front of the bathrooms with the most depressing looking reject of a Goodwill couch and a tiny bucket of very well loved and dingy looking toys. New to the Seattle area & decided to have breakfast here based on the stellar reviews. I will say that may be my first mistake. I was looking for a good breakfast burrito and my second mistake may have been opting for the Potato Burrito when they were out of the regular breakfast burritos. The ingredients sounded great: Eggs, Potato, Salsa and Cheese. Mmmk, can't go wrong there right? WRONG. This was not only a super small burrito, but somehow managed to be pasty. I'm not sure how a tortilla can congeal but this one did. It was tasteless and bland. I have never had a burrito this bad to be quite honest. I won't discount the whole restaurant because of that but to walk out having paid $16 for a small coffee, an Odwalla and 2 tiny, tasteless burritos sure felt like I got the shaft. read more

I came here with a group from Meetup on Saturday morning and we had an amazing experience. There was a line out the door but it went quickly! I had a red pepper and onion scone and a caramel latte. The latte was a little sweeter than I'd like, but at least I know to try something different next time. The scone was a perfect savory treat! For the scone and the latte it was $8. They have great outdoor seating that easily accommodated our group. Also, if all you want is a drip coffee you can avoid the line and visit the "honor bar" to pour yourself a cup if you put $2 cash in the box there on the table. Cloud City Coffee seems like one of those friendly neighborhood coffee joints. The crowd appears to be more locals and the place is pretty kid friendly: about half of the patrons were parents with their kids, there were toys on the ground and a bookshelf filled with kids books. That and the barista answered my order with "Awww, Dougie Wougie wants a latte?" But aside from the obvious, Cloud City also is a reasonable place just to hang out. The dimensions of the place are an aberration to the laws of physics: it looks small from the outside, but is deceptively larger on the inside. There are several tables as well as two comfy couches; one facing the window for people watching and the second next to the kids bookshelves. There are a number of pastries in the display case, although I didn't try any. However, the latte I had was good. In fact, this was probably the best coffee-related drink I've had in a few weeks. Noise was a little louder than average with the kids although it's still possible to get work done; a few readers and people with their laptops were present. I'm going with four stars here, but if you're looking for a kid-friendly coffee place, you can consider this a five. read more

I love the hustle and bustle feel of this place. They have so much stuff on the menu, it's crazy. It feels like a lunch spot rather than a coffee joint which is awesome! I really appreciate that they have their own lot because I despise street parking when it's crowded. The place gets busy quick especially during the lunch hour. I didn't get any food, but they had sandwiches, quiches, pastries, salads... probably more. There was a lot to choose from! Lots of tables and seats too. I like the coziness of the place, it really feels like a coffee house. I ordered the holiday special chai-der. My husband and I stopped into Cloud City Coffee for a little refreshment while driving through this part of town. We found it on Yelp and thought it sounded cute. And it was adorable. The outside was painted a cheerful blue, and there was a patio adjoining the parking lot. The inside was just as charming - bookcases full of old books for children and adults, a thrown together mix of tables and sofas. Whimsical art hung on the walls, most of it for sale, presumably by local artists. There were a lot of abstract paintings of dogs, all of them pretty affordable. Service was fast and friendly. Matt B. got a coffee and I got an affogato. It was indulgent and unnecessary during a long day of eating, but it hit the spot. Both coffee and ice cream were delicious. We were tired when we arrived, and we sat for a while on a comfortable blue sofa with well loved, sinking cushions. We relaxed and talked and read a children's book on sushi. The other customers looked like regulars, plugged in and at home with laptops and coffee. Cloud City Coffee is a place that invites use as a second home, and I imagine it's indispensable to many in Seattle. read more

Cloud City is now ordinary coffee place. Every time I have been here the place is hopping. People having conversations, kids playing with the toys, people reading books or the newspaper, just what you think about a coffee house should be. The menu is the typical coffee selections, then you add in the food and that's what to pushes cloud city to a five star. There are 6 different quiches available (at least when I have been there.) This last time I had the sausage and peppers; there are also vegetarian selections available. The food is great but the staff is what makes the place, attentive and knowledgeable and service is fast. Cloud City is my go to coffee shop in Seattle, I'd say we go 5-7 times a week and are never disappointed. Love that they have a rotating single origin in the mornings for drip, and the food choices are great as well. Love the bacon sandwich; their bacon is top notch. Baked good are excellent as well, the coconut bread is elite. I live in the neighborhood so convenience dictates this is my most frequent stop, but I have yet find any coffee shop in the Seattle area that tops Cloud City. Really enjoy coming to this place since it's near my work and everyone is very personable! It can be very busy during morning / lunch hours so just be aware of that. The sandwiches are a bit on the expensive side but they taste great and include a yummy salad and side item of your choice. They have fantastic homemade baked goods all year long, one of my favorite is the coconut bread! I want to try the earl grey cake that they had a few weeks ago but I think they sold out before I could get a piece! It's also really nice to sit outside when the sun's out. This is one of our favorite local neighborhood gems! Weekends are special because that's the only time they make their delicious cinnamon rolls!! **drool**. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, especially Stephanie! We adore her! We used to live in Green Lake and would come here nearly every weekend and walk from our house. Now we live in Hawaii and enjoy coming back to this cafe on visits back to Seattle. I usually get their drummer chai (delicious and gingery) with a little bit of Theo chocolate, so it's like a chai mocha. Their brekkie burritos are also good, as well as their pies and quiches. I love love LOVE their breakfast burritos, but they need to start wrapping them in a different paper, or even tinfoil at the very least. It sticks to the burritos, and a couple of times I've had it rip open the burrito because of the stupid paper. Also please check the ingredients on your smoothies! Usually, they have been great, but a couple of times the bananas used have been super ripe and gross. It's probably a good idea to test/check your ingredients before you serve it to customers. Yum! This place has kind of a hipster vibe, pretty loud. They use Tony's coffee beans, and their team brands vary. I had an Early Grey London Fog w/ soy milk with tea from from International Tea Importers. Can definitely taste the lavender and bergamont in the tea. They use real vanilla bean as I can see the black specks. Really yummy. Only thing was there was far too much foam. My boyfriend had a Mexican Mocha which he really liked. Hands down the best chai in all of north Seattle (and I've sampled A LOT). It's also tied in my book with best chai in all of Seattle (with the other winner being Ampersand Cafe in West Seattle on Alki). Cloud City makes their own mix which is a nice balance of spice and sweet. I have a sweet tooth but I like my chai spicy and they do it right. I also can't drink milk but it goes great with their hemp milk and they'll give more chai then milk for extra spice on request. They also create five special drinks to match the season and one is always dairy free. While being my favorite chai place makes it a winner, Cloud City is also so much more then that. The staff are AWESOME, it's a neighborhood favorite with a strong community feel, they have a kids play area, and tasty breakfast, lunch and snack foods, including some gluten free and/or vegan baked goods as well as fruit and veggie options. read more
