I've lived in the PNW which has some of the best coffee in the country and Cloveberry definitely stands up. It's wonderful to have a place serving quality coffee in Sparta and I'm just sad it happened after I had already left the nest and moved out of NJ. It's the one place I always stop by when I'm in town visiting my family. I typically order a latte here but when I order a mocha or sweeter drink I prefer to ask for it half sweet because they can be very heavy handed with the syrups- just a caveat! Love that they have added a few gluten free pastry options (my dad has Celiac) and they are GOOD, just as good as their regular pastries. I'm a big fan of their double chocolate chip muffins and red velvet cake (please, bring it back!). I rarely sit down here for lunch or breakfast because it's very busy for such a tiny place but they do offer take out on their breakfast and lunch menus. If you want pastries I would recommend getting there early, especially on the weekends because they tend to sell out. Really, my only gripe is how small the place is which can make things very crowded when you're just running in to order coffee though I suppose outgrowing your space is a great problem to have! read more

I went here last week, sorry for the delay. I absolutely loved it. I had the iced decaf moca with coconut milk, it was one of the best I've ever had. I also ventured off my normal routine and ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Grilled Cheese.. this sandwich alone gets an additional 5 stars. I'm not sure why I ordered it, I don't like 1/2 the stuff in it especially all together. The sandwich was perfect lite, sweet, crunchy, with a Kong Pow kick of spice. I met a friend for lunch here whom I've not seen in years. We sat and chatted for about an hour, and not once felt like we were lording around. I would say this place is a 3.5, but I rounded up. Cute, but very small spot. The staff weren't too friendly, but they got everything right during a busy time and were relatively fast. I had iced tea and my husband had a frozen chai which was pretty good. I had the avocado caprese toast which was good (I asked for the eggs to be scrambled instead of sunny side up). The portions are probably a normal serving, but I was starving when I went in and was still left a little hungry after finishing my meal. I think all I needed was the option to add a side of some sort and I would have been completely full, but unfortunately they don't offer any sides you can add. Beware that if you come on a Sunday that only the brunch menu is available. All in all good for a light bite. I think it would be better suited as a non table service place where you just pay up front, are given a number to take to your table and wait for your food to be delivered to your table. I noticed a lot of lag time that could probably be avoided if it were non table service. read more

After going to the local chains for years and having no options; Cloveberry opens and offers Sparta a new alternative. Quaint little cafe, tastefully decorated with indoor | outdoor seating. Their muffins are low-fat, and delicious! Made fresh daily, they are my go-to breakfast. The owners are passionate about good food and are always delightful. What a quaint little cafe! I ate lunch at Cloveberry while visiting friends in the area, and was very impressed with the innovative sandwiches and drinks they offered. The honey-basil grilled cheese was fresh and delicious, and their pumpkin latte was better than Starbucks. But Cloveberry's best attribute is their service. It's a small staff, and because everything is made-to-order you'll wait a little longer for your food. (The ambiance is so pleasant, you won't mind the wait.) Furthermore, it's crystal clear that customer satisfaction is their biggest priority--they will do more than necessary to fix an order error. First time here and definitely coming back. The service here should be the standard for which this type of coffee and sandwich place should be measured. Staff was very courteous and took care of all the customers well. They even split the sandwich for us we were sharing on two separate plates without even asking. Ham and Brie Sandwich was amazing. One of the best cafés around. They have awesome food and beverages, they're natural and fresh. Its a really cute place too! Great for relaxing, talking to friends or doing business over coffee. All of the ingredients are fresh and made to order or baked that morning. The management and employees are so friendly too. My favorite place for lunch in Sparta. Their coffee is excellent, as is their Mexican Hot Chocolate, and they have a wide variety of teas and coffees to choose from. I love their tuna salad sandwich, which has an awesome crunch to it, not your typical deli tuna salad! Everyone in my office has their sandwich favorites which is what makes this our go to lunch spot. We often draw straws to see who will make the Cloveberry run. Oh and on the weekends, both their sweet and savory French toasts are to die for! The atmosphere is chill, and the service is wonderful. I don't know where they find such sweet servers, but they are all top notch and friendly. I love this place and highly recommend it! So I'm sad to have to leave a poor review for I've never had an issue with cloveberry in the past, but the service I received a couple of weeks ago from them was just disgusting.... so where to start? I've been going to cloveberry for years now! I order the same thing every time I'm there.... the "hail to kale" smoothie... the catch is I can't have pineapple so I always ask if they could just leave out the pineapple... which in the past has NEVER been a problem. There was a time where I was ordering this drink almost on a daily basis when I was working in Sparta... always ordered my hail to kale with no pineapple... never had an issue... fast forward to 2 Weeks ago. I happened to be in the Sparta area when I decided to stop in and have my hail to kale... (I don't work in Sparta anymore so it's been a while!) I was looking forward to my smoothie. Long story short I get to the cashier and she takes my order, I ask of she could just please leave out the pineapple... well, You would've thought I insulted her mother with the response I got. In the most snippiest tone she snaps back with "I can do that for you but if I do your smoothie will be horrible, You might as well order something else because if you don't want pineapple, your smoothie isn't going to taste good" this chick, no older than 16 is sitting here trying to tell me, what I'll like and wont like... I kindly responded "that's okay, I've had it before without the pineapple and I like the taste"... you would think at this point she would say okay and move on, but no, I was told once again "but your smoothie is going to taste horrible" I was quite taken back, I was about to honestly just walk out when the nice girl working behind the counter with the rude girl, says to her "if she wants it with no pineapple, make it with no pineapple, it's her drink, give her what she wants" so the girl taking my order snaps back at her and says "fine, but she's not going to like the taste, without pineapple" lol like this chick knows my tastebuds. So she continues to silently take my cash and give me my change. I had to thank her, and tell her to have a nice day.... and I couldn't even get a kind word out of her in return, not even after I left her a tip. never again, cloveberry lost a loyal costumer for sure...... read more

I love going here bc it's the only place with healthy food in Sparta. The waitresses are young and kinda forgetful. It's either super busy or super dead. Parking lot is annoying. I always get the vegan power wrap an açaí bowl. Wish they had the açaí more often.. it's only for Sunday's. read more
