Their hard working staff does an outstanding job at seating customers and satisfying the continuous flow of hungry patrons. If you prefer bar seating, it is available. Each entree portion was large, cooked to perfection, and thoroughly enjoyed. We had the following: The Toxic Avenger (Grilled chicken, buffalo sauce, pepper jack, lettuce, and ranch dressing), French Toast with a side of turkey sausage, and the Yummy Mummy Omelette (Tomatoes, scallions, American cheese, Noopy (1,000 Island) sauce, potatoes, and rye toast. Warm atmosphere, great attentive service and surprisingly good food. Warm friendly greeting as soon as I entered, but I wasn't in a rush because I was busy mesmerized by the decor, creative, homey, Halloween themed right down to the Beetlejuice video box containing the final bill. I ordered the delicious garlic mash with perfect sunny side eggs, Taylor ham and tater tots. Very generous portions and homemade iced tea. The one downside was the coffee was a little weak for me, but that's a personal preference. The wait staff are nice and as colorful and eclectic as the decor. I had gotten the Ch ch ch ah ah ahhmelette with a substitution of caramelized onions instead of home fries on the side. The omelette was very tasty. The caramelized onions were, quite possibly, the best I have ever had! The unsweetened iced tea was good and was definitely made in house. The cons. The space is very small and can get crowded very quickly. So you might need to wait for seating. The only other issue I had was when I got my bill and they made a 14 dollar omelette and charged me 24 bucks because I asked for side of caramelized onions instead of the standard home fries. I protested because there is zero reason to make it that much and if it was going to be that much of an up charge, I should be informed before it. With some protesting I got the bill down to 17 dollars (even though that math still doesn't make sense to me). Although the bill left a horrible taste in my mouth, the omelette did not. So overall, a good experience and definitely one I would suggest checking out for breakfast or brunch. (Just pay attention to your bill). read more

Missy's used to be a great place to go for brunch. Recently we went and the eggs were undercooked, runny. They don't have a set platter for eggs, toast, meat and potatoes so had to order side of meat which I felt was odd. When we got the bill it was quite high for breakfast, over $40 for 2 people. Got charged 6.99 for bacon and then 6.99 for sausage which is wild. The only thing we enjoyed was the pankcake. Things have gone down hill big time and they charged more. Such a shame! read more

Small casual place, about ten tables and five counter seats. We had to wait about ten mins which isn't bad from what I've heard it could be. However, their system of making sure people are sat in order should be used. When we first walked in the one girl just told us to wait as they had people leaving in the next couple of minutes. But there were people who came before us and then after us and then when another girl walked over she was trying to figure out who came first and had to back track through the four parties standing there at the time. Food was decent. I would go back to try other things. The PB&J French toast could have used more peanut butter, but I loved that you had different options of jelly to choose from. My wife and I headed to the area to check out a nearby thrift shop. Obviously that's an excuse for me to send her three or four Yelp recommendations for nearby lunch. They were quick with recommendations, although it's the kind of menu where you'll be tempted by every item. My wife selected a Big Mac inspired wrap with a side of tater tot's and absolutely loved it! I went with a dish that I had seen on Yelp, the Black Garlic Smash. It features sunny side up eggs, Taylor ham, onions, and a black garlic hot sauce over perfectly crispy tater tot's. It also includes a couple of slices of buttered toast. I'm a sucker for a savory dish on a breakfast menu, this one cannot be beat! Absolutely delivers just enough heat from the hot sauce and the ingredients come together so well! The ambiance is perfect, I was wondering if it would be a bit over the top with the horror theme but it wasn't. Just enough to add character to the place. Obviously I've been gushing and adding to the nearly 700 perfect reviews that they have at this point but I would close with, the people that work there take the place over the top. I had the Evangeline's Stuffed Frenchy: Two Thick Fluffy Slices of French Toast Stuffed w/ Hazelnut Spread & Massacre Manor Strawberry Sauce Topped w/ Whipped Cream & Dusting of Powdered Sugar. Walked in and you can tell it's very divey and chill. Staff was super friendly and they had some background music on. When Yelpers post 682 reviews and they are five stars across-the-board, one needs to pay attention! I think Missy's has been here forever. Every dish looked better than the last. I ordered the Miss-Griddle; two fried eggs, two sausage patties, and cheddar cheese nestled inside two pancakes. There was so much food, we could've split it and walked away sated. There was a sign on the bathroom door stating there would be a slight fee if one paid by credit card. I appreciated seeing it and also seeing it printed on the Bill. The difference was less than $.50, which felt fair. The server who took our order was the best! She was friendly, enthusiastic, engaged, and answered our questions. The server who took over was anything but. I got my coffee to go but couldn't find her long enough to get a box for my copious amount of leftover food. Check out the photo and you'll see how much food was left over. We were about to give up when another server came over with a container asking if I wanted to take my food to go. This is what makes this place exceptional. Great food and a fantastic staff. Thank you! A couple sitting next to us has been coming here for decades. A friend from the area told me I had to try out Missy's Main Street Cafe, so I stopped in for brunch on a Saturday. The line was out the door, so they took our number and said they'd call us when a table was free (estimated 1 hour). We went to go get coffee, and they called shortly after (20 min). We were seated quickly. It's a hole in the wall with lots of interesting decor. The waitress came with menus, and took our drink orders. The service is fast and the food comes out quickly. We ordered a number of different items, including the Nookie, JB Black Garlic Smash, Chuck Norris wrap, and Fleeky's Huevos Rad-Cheros. They were all really saucy, greasy, hearty, and tasty. The restaurant is decorated with eclectic items throughout, i can see its a fun space. It's similar to a restaurant near Atlantic City called "Shut Up and Eat". I have a question, what is Taylor Ham? It's like the room went quite! She touches my shoulder and says where are you from? You can't tell from this outrageous accent, New York! She explains the ham as my buddy orders a side of it with his meal. I ordered J.B. Black Garlic Smash, it's mash up of tater tots with eggs and chopped up Taylor Ham. Main Street in Rockaway after reading some recent rave reviews, most recently one by North Jersey Eats reporter Kara VanDooijeweert. A small, independently owned, homey, comfortable, casual, local hot spot, the eatery certainly lived up to the hype. The menu included a wide array of creative and tantalizing dishes. Service was super friendly and welcoming. Our server, Kasey, was phenomenal, and made us feel at home. I opted, at Kasey's suggestion, for the Miss-Griddle; Two Sausage Patties, Two Fried Eggs & Cheddar Cheese Sandwiched Between Two Small Buttermilk Pancakes, all Topped w/ Butter & Powdered Sugar. A great choice. It was between that and the Nightmare un Last Main St.; Chopped Steak, Scrambled Egg Flat, crispy Bacon, Carmelized Onions & Homemade Roasted Garlic Aioli Sandwiched on Grilled Sourdough Bread. ***3 1/2 stars*** I'm really not understanding the over-the-top buzz for this place; it's the only brunchy establishment in the immediate area, which explains the local appeal but beyond that I'm pretty mystified. I came here yesterday in the late morning with my top-tier chums for a bite. Two of us had been here maybe a decade or so ago and had favorable impressions though so much time had elapsed that I didn't remember any specifics beyond the check coming in a cute little mailbox (which is still the case). Right off the bat, I didn't have a great vibe. They don't take reservations (which is fine) so the first person to show up in our crew put a name in to wait. They were told that the wait was about 30 minutes. It ended up being closer to 40 minutes from then, which I understand is not an exact science but once we were on the premises it was clear that the staff was not prepared to manage dawdlers. There was at least one party in there that had finished their food well before we all got there, and no attempt was made by the staff to move that along, which I think they should be prioritizing when there's literally customers bunched in the front waiting for a table. That table of people actually stayed throughout most of our meal as well, which means they were there for about two hours, and it could have been longer. Meanwhile, you have parties inside and outside just standing around when the seating is extremely limited. I understand that that can be an awkward situation for the staff, especially at a more blue-collar dinery establishment like this, but you CAN go over a little more often, ask if they want the check, etc. There are ways to expedite dawdlers without massively confronting them. We watched the guy at the register (who was very nice, by the way) shoot them a few looks, but it was completely ineffective and he flat out should have been more aggressive/proactive. Huge miss in my book. It was also nippy out so we spent most of our wait in the very small front area that can't comfortably accommodate more than one or two people there, so we were constantly being shuttled aside by other customers or staff to gain access to the fridge for milk, etc. Bottom line: if you don't have the space to handle groups of people waiting for a table, you need to be willing and able to turn the tables over more frequently. That's not just on the oblivious diners - that's on you as the proprietor (for what it's worth, my chums thought that was almost exclusively on the diners, but they're more than welcome to roll up their sleeves and write their own account). Anyway. Our waitress was excellent. Very friendly and definitely took a lot of the bad taste of the wait out of our mouths. She had strong opinions about most of the menu items we referenced, which I liked, and although it took a while for the food to show up, that clearly wasn't on her. I got the Chicken Za Za or something (I just spent five minutes online looking for the actual name, but it seems to be a super recent menu addition - basically chicken and waffles), which came with raspberry drizzle. I liked how the chicken was prepared, pre-cut into manageable slices, which made this dish much more low maintenance. Very nice presentation overall. Surprisingly though, it was pretty bland; the raspberry drizzle was barely detectable so I think they either need an additional ingredient for this (maybe the waffle and chicken by definition are soaking up a lot of the taste?) or a lot more of the drizzle. It wasn't bad but I was a little disappointed in that one. The fries that came with everyone else's dishes were excellent; perfectly crispy. I ate quite a few of those as well. I only had a water, but I did notice that we had someone stop by very frequently to check on both the water and coffee levels of our drinks, so that's a positive as well. This place wasn't bad, but I would absolutely never wait more than 10 minutes here again. And we know now from experience that the 10 minutes would likely be an underestimate. read more
