Loved the pomegranate hibiscus sour (The First Born) while my peeps enjoyed Juice Bag IPA and a flight on those clever clover-shaped paddles. Honestly, it's been a while since I delighted in a well-crafted, fruit-forward sour with just the right amount of sweet and effervescence. Thank you! Clover Road's Hudson location is big, airy, full of activity, and has a welcome-to-the-neighborhood feel. We went two Saturdays in a row. For starters, they have seating outside and more than enough inside. I also saw a few arcade games and folks playing darts. Wanting to end the night with a 3rd sour, I went with the Rizzberry. Quite glad that it was light and easy to drink. Since I was feeling munchy, I decided to order hummus with veggies and pita bread. Not a fan of hummus, but it tasted so good at the time with carrots and pita bread. There was cucumbers too, but it turned into goop before you could even grab it. A very small Local brewery located in Hudson, when we came they were slammed, due to a holiday parade. The service was quick and easy despite the packed room. Good selection of brews on tap. We all had a varying beers and all were hearty and good. We were hoping for some food but they didn't offer any picky's. While pulling into the new Ashland location last night 6 10/11 yr old girls came running out the side door and across the parking lot. They didn't look for cars and almost got hit. After going inside there were another 5 or 6 kids of the same age taking up a table while just doom scrolling on their phones. Why do people insist on bringing kids to a brewery? Completely kills the vibe of a tap room. We stayed for one beer and left. Could be a cool addition to down town Ashland but its a terrible atmosphere with kids running wild with no supervision or boundries. read more

First time coming here since it changed over. Ambience was nice, beer was refreshing. Came on a Sunday afternoon and there was a mix of families, couples and gamers playing board games towards the back room area. They featured a business with a table inside called "Buttered" which made fresh home made biscuits w/sausage gravy, and a dessert one too! which were out of this world and with a beer best combo ever. They also let dogs come inside and patio area. This was really nice to bring my dog here since previous business did not allow dogs. read more

I visited the new Ashland location yesterday and was really impressed with how they transformed the old firehouse into a taproom with a great atmosphere. Having been to the Hudson location multiple times, I noticed that Ashland has the same cool industrial vibe, which I love. The beers, as always, were fantastic with some fun, creative names. Juice Bag is my favorite, a classic and clever IPA. One thing that could use improvement is the acoustics--it's pretty loud in there, especially with live music and microphones/speakers. They definitely need some sound-dampening materials on the walls/ceilings to help with the sound quality. Maybe it's better when the big doors are open, but last night, the music just didn't sound right. There were a couple of issues that I hope they address soon. First, when we arrived, the taproom was packed, but there were quite a few kids running around. One group of people grabbed three high-top tables by the doors, and two of the tables were filled with kids who were all over the place--running, climbing on the patio wall, and making it feel more like a daycare than a brewery. I'm hoping this was just a one-time thing, because it really disrupted the vibe - especially for us who were there to enjoy the music and a couple of beers but had no place to sit. Another downside was that dogs are apparently allowed indoors. While I get that many breweries are dog-friendly, it's just not sanitary, and the dogs seemed uncomfortable in the space. If you can't leave your dog at home, at least stay on the patio. Dogs really shouldn't be in indoor bars or restaurant areas (and stores for that matter). If they address this issue, I'd certainly come back. read more

Nice new local brewery not too different in physical layout from previous brewery here - Ground Effect. Large spacious indoor seating and outdoor tables as well. Relaxed vibe with 9 beers currently on tap. Plans are for food trucks soon. Just a few blocks from Medusa, the well known brewery of Hudson. Clover feels more spacious than Medusa. We'll wait to see how this place evolves. Having some schedule of music and food trucks could make this spot a great hangout. read more

Happened by this chill joint while nearby and needed a place to grab a bite while opening my laptop for work. When I asked the bartender (Kyra) if she was cool with my doing work at the bar, she emphatically said, "Of course!" in her adorable accent. Already, I loved the place. So welcoming! Especially for those who, like me, "work from home." Come "work from home" at Clover Road! (By contrast, Rail Trial down the street frowns on this -- or at least they used to -- probably because it's so crowded there, so I can't work there, no matter how much I love their pizzas.) Aaaaaanyways, I am *not* a big beer person, but when I *do* drink beer, I usually order a lager (Stella, Spaten, Heineken, etc.). Kyra recommended the Forward Pass, a German-styled pilsner. It's light and airy, and was the perfect thirst quencher on a sticky summer day. (They also have a couple GF seltzers for the "kids.") The munchie menu is short but PERFECT bar fare. I got the Buffalo Chicken Dip with the tortilla chips, and it was sooooo good. Fresh. Hot. The dip was served in a cute little iron skillet. The ambiance (on a Tuesday eve) was terrific. Chill. Not so crowded that you feel like you're being crushed. The bar is nice and deep, so you have plenty of room to plant your elbows. There's a TV, but it wasn't on. There are two authentic dart boards (fun), and they both were being used while I was there. Conclusion: I think I found a new hole-in-the-wall gem that will give my typical Cold Harbor brewery a run for its money on those days when I wanna "work from home." ;) (That said, I still love me some Cold Harbor beer!) Update: I think they have a ribs-and-baked-potato food truck and cool old cars on display on Thursdays during the summer. Patio filled with patrons and dogs. Festive summer vibe. Love it. read more

Well run brewery with a nice variety of craft beers- not just IPAs. They also offered a Seltzer, if beer isn't your thing or you can't have gluten. I like breweries that are still a little unique or quirky but I don't like dingy. Simple outdoor space with picnic tables and umbrellas. Would be glad to return. read more

Be warned. This place is more like a Chucky Cheese than a brewery. We went in today and it was kids running around like maniacs, breast feeding moms and parents ignoring their children's bad behavior. There were seriously more children under the age of eight there than there were adults. Sad, we used to like this place but it's becoming too one sided. Not a good place to go and have a relaxing drink at all. It's too noisy and annoying now. The owners have obviously decided they'd rather run a day care center. read more

I wanted to give this new place a try since they replaced the previous Ground Effect. I heard it's the same brewer too. I liked the beer, although I wish they had a more vast selection but I understand they are new. The only thing I didn't like both times I've been here, the most recent on New Years Eve. I went to have a nice hangout with a friend and we won't be going back. On NYE I didn't expect the taproom to be filled with children under 14 and parents with strollers/babies. It got so loud and kids were screaming and running around everywhere we thought it was a kids night out event. The brewery appeared to be more kid friendly than adult friendly. If they are attempting to cater more to families it should be noted on the website. I'm a little disappointed because they allow dogs indoors too, was looking forward to hanging out there frequently. But the amount of children is just a huge turn off. read more
