Well, we had stayed in Worcester after going to another concert the previous night and needed some things to do in between. Enter Cold Harbor. I ordered the Pumpkin Ale as it's that season and lived the malty spicy balance. They had a gluten-free pizza that had sausage and ricotta. The crust was bomb! Very nicely cooked with nice globs of ricotta making it more tasty. Waitress was super friendly and helpful. At one point I think she got place outside and it was difficult to get her towards the end, but we figured it out. I liked the pumpkin beer so much, I decided to try a flight. I ordered all pale ales/ipas. They were a bit too wet with hops and one of them gave me a little hop burn. The flavor profiles were good though. I walked out with a pack of Ravenna and Pumpkin Ale. I would definitely like to go again!

Moderate amount of butter on the Texas toast standing in for rye. Somewhat-traditional condiments, but with a few liberties taken (caramelized onion, cheddar jack, bacon). Not elite, but solid enough job and probably among the better patty melts I've had on my recent quest. -- CH Cheeseburger: Tried twice, this wasn't just a good cheeseburger for the 'burbs or a good cheeseburger for a brewery. This is a good cheeseburger, period, and a very good one. The first thing I really like about it is that it's a thick, full-size patty, and not the overexposed smashburger that's made the thick ones nearly extinct. The second is that they understand and deliver on the concept of textural contrast: crusty exterior and pink, very juicy interior. They also season it just enough to notice, butter that griddled bun just enough to notice, and don't screw up the vegetable additions. The cheese is there but unremarkable. The bun is soft and flexible. Overall, one of the best burgers in MetroWest and Worcester. -- Fries: The frozen variety, neither great nor horrific. They got the job done. -- Beer: I like their offerings, led by their flagship Juice Freak, served properly in attractive glassware. I have other breweries with beers I love, but none of them has a burger I love, and I'm already falling in love with this one. Service was excellent every time, once at a table and twice at the bar. The staff is genuinely warm and welcoming, the outdoor seating is a great touch, and the fact that it's dog friendly makes it even better. The coffee selection is diverse and well-done, but the real star is the food. The breakfast sandwich is honestly one of the best I've had -- don't sleep on it. If you're in Hudson, this one is a must. Don't miss it!

Friends since high school, Mason and Tarbell have shared a passion for quality craft beer for quite some time. After years of visiting various breweries with their families and friends, the partners began serious talks about opening their own brewery. Not only did they aspire to open a brewery that featured a variety of beer styles, but also a family friendly taproom. Mason has an extensive background in homebrewing, and both partners have a background in business. Clinton was ultimately chosen as the location for their brewery because it lacked a family friendly brewery. A second location opened at Pathway Devens (a biomanufacturing campus operated by King Street Properties) in May 2024. I recently visited Sterling Street Brewery's original Clinton location for the first time. It was also the first time that I was meeting up a with a large group of New England-based craft beer bloggers/enthusiasts who frequently have meet-ups at breweries. The taproom was decent-sized with maybe 10 large tables available for seating. There were an additional 20 or so tables outside, but it was still a little too cold outside to utilize those. I would imagine that the patio area is popular during the warmer months. After grabbing some food from a food truck, I headed to the bar. I ordered a taster flight that featured "Newfound Pale" (Citra Pale Ale), "Otherwise" (New England IPA), "Michael Diamond" (New England IPA), and "Midnight Marauder" (Stout). I enjoyed them all, but I was most impressed by the Pale Ale. I later enjoyed full pours of "Gingerbread Snuggles" (Winter Ale) and "Double Sabotage" (Double New England IPA). The beer was solid, the space was nice, and I had a blast meeting and socializing with so many other local craft beer enthusiasts. I give Sterling Street my seal of approval and I hope to check out their Devens location in the future!

We enjoy their food at least once a week, whether it's take-out or dine-in it's always superb. The pizza is the best I've had in the Boston area (yes, it's better than any place in the North End) mostly because the ingredients are much higher quality than most places but also because their crust is perfectly thin and slightly charred, and their copper wood oven cooks the pies at the perfect temperature--just like in Italy. The entrees, the salads, and all the apps are also phenomenal, again with high quality ingredients and sophisticated flavors, and their burger is definitely the best in Metrowest. Their only flaw is that someone in the kitchen has a heavy hand with black pepper and red pepper flakes tend to appear too frequently, so I always make sure to ask for no added pepper. The specials are not to be missed, unfortunately they're only served on the weekend, and the special desserts--oh my! Kudos, Jack's Abby! I hope you continue to serve food like this for a very long time!
