Months of trying to cancel membership, calling to speak with MIKE the manager but he lacks accountability in every facet. Continuing to charge hundreds of dollars on a card I cancelled. One of the male personal trainers had a piece of a condom wrapper fall out of his pocket mid training session as well. I could go on about the lack of professionalism. The free weights are all damaged. Machines that are broken take to long to fix. Then you get fees charged for upkeep and upgrades and nothing has been done. Staff is nonexistent and not interested. I recently had to change my membership from the Orange plan to the basic. I paid a $21 cancellation fee and $52 to open the Basic membership. The person at the desk did not tell me that it is only a 24 hour gym for orange members. I can no longer access the gym anytime. I was an orange member for just shy of one year. Other people I know that work out here have the basic membership and have full access. I asked one of the Asso. She told me they changed the policy. . Anybody that already had a basic membership is grandfathered in. This is very unfair considering I was already a member for one year. Also, when I signed up for the basic membership, the price at the gym was $2.79 per week but online it was $1.99. I was told that I would have to sign upon my phone in order to get the 1.99 deal so I did but when the first billing cycle came, I was charged $2.79. I'm not sure what's going on here but the whole thing has got me pretty upset, I like the gym and the fact that it's a 24 hour access gym but if this can't be fix I'm just going to keep this membership for one more year to get my moneys worth that I had to pay for cancellation of the old membership and the re-signing of the new membership and find another gym to go to. There are too many other options in town to deal with this aggravation. Just beware if you are thinking about getting a membership here it is only a 24 hour gym for their top-tier membership. I signed up with this gym a little over a week ago online because the prices looked good, but after working out here a few times in the last week, I am noticing a moldy smell. It may be dangerous, and I notice people are coughing a lot more at this gym than any other gym I've been to. I reported this to management. They denied it. Have you ever been to somebody's house that smelled bad, but they don't notice it because they've been there so long. I believe this is the case. I will keep everybody posted on this because I have faith they may fix this major and potentially dangerous problem, but only time will tell. I am planning to cancel soon if it is not fixed. Until then, I would highly recommend AGAINST this gym. The price looks good, but it's totally not worth it, especially if the moldy smell is a permanent thing. Don't waste your money, This gym goes through managers almost monthly. The current manager is not only RUDE, but also a LIAR. The previous manager, was either ill informed or just straight up lied as well. Finally decided to just cancel, and the current manager is giving me the run around. The GYM itself always seems to have broken machines, locker rooms smell moldy, and the staff is far from friendly, they would rather hang at front desk and talk on the phone. This gym is "okay", not great but not all that bad. The price per month isn't horrible. They have a great selection of cardio equipment and a separate room for those who want to run in the dark while watching a movie. The weight machines are okay some are lopsided or slightly disheveled but always are clean. Some attachments go missing for periods of time for some machines that need them. Or people are putting them on the wrong machines( Not the Gyms fault). The free weights are a whole different story, you have a smaller area to use free weights. The benches, some are in better shape then others and get swapped between the smith machines. And you will find a lot of people park on them to just text. You will always find the dumbbells where they should be. Weight plates are shuffled around, but it's not that big of problem. Overall this isn't a bad gym, the price point is good. Bathrooms are very well maintained. Machines are clean and the hours are good. It gets busy from 4:30-7:00 which is pretty much expected. read more

Pros - great price, friendly staff, a lot of equipment (and good variety), spacious, clean, & cool amenities such as the theater Cons - I was hoping there would be more classes available (time wise and type of class)...like something earlier in the morning on weekdays. Well, you certainly get what you pay for. At about $20 a month, Club 24 meets the basic requirements. At peak times, you may need to wait a little bit for a particular machine but otherwise, there is a lot of quiet time. It is certainly nice to have a place that is open around the clock as an option. There are some "fun" extras that don't really make it much of a luxury such as some massage chairs and sauna (it is basically a box for one person so any social sauna-ing is not an option). The space is enough and not too crowded. The speakers distribute the mediocre music unevenly so some spots you are blasted and others have nothing. Increasingly, I notice a decline in the choice of movies for the movie cardio room. There is also a lack of some simple equipment like straight, short, barbells. On the other hand, there is an abundance and redundancy of machines. The locker rooms are incredibly lackluster and despite a comment from the manager 11 months ago, they have not been renovated. You will be able to do your basics here but really nothing fantastic. read more

This gym had a no mask policy while you were training. The only times mask were mandatory were upon entering and exiting. Regardless of wearing my mask at all times, I contracted Covid 2 days after signing for PT classes (total of 8) which I was told i could cancel at any time. I called the gym and spoke to the girl who signed me up for classes and she informed me that she would freeze my membership and that I would have to send corporate an email explaining i was sick with Covid and wanted to cancel my contract. No problem, she said.... let us know when you feel better and we will unfreeze your membership. I was hospitalized a week later and fought for my life the next several months! Yesterday, April 17, 2021, while checking bank and credit card statements, I discovered that not only were they charging me monthly for membership fees, they were also charging my credit card for PT sessions that were to be canceled upon receipt of email! I decided to personally go to the gym and speak to someone in management to explain that I had contracted Covid while training at the gym and hospitalized with major complications from Covid (all that could be backed up with hospital records) Oh, and I am also a multiple sclerosis patient. According to Val, part of the mgmt staff, informed me that this gym would not refund me for services that I could not use and they would "bank them until I got better" He also told me that he emailed me personally to ask " how long did I want to freeze my membership for and because I never responded (which i see nowhere in my emails) they decided not to freeze the membership and the PT classes were not refundable! Classes that I canceled in less than two weeks after being diagnosed w Covid and never beginning!!!! This gym and management not to mention the personal trainer I had signed with, are a complete DISGRACE and everyone needs to know they can care less about your well-being from the no mask policy (which they finally made mandatory....joke) to your health and well-being. He informed me that the trainer had been fired for sexual harassment and offered to train me personally even after explaining to him that I was in physically therapy w special Covid drs. I then asked him if he was a "licensed personal trainer" and he informed me that he did not have a license but was qualified to train me because he has trained other people with ms. This man is an ignorant, pathetic, lacks compassion and has no interest in the health and or well-being of any member that walks through his doors and has absolutely no business training anyone when he doesn't even have any type of formal training or hold any certification in exercise physiology. Beware of this gym and the people they employ!!! They are scam artists and are only interested in taking your hard earned money! Gyms are a dime a dozen. Do your research and find a place where they will actually help you rather than set you up for failure by putting you at risk for injury. Ask to see a degree or certification from anyone who tells you they "can train you" I CANCELED my membership, opened a dispute with the bank for the 7 months they fraudulently withdrew funds AND called my credit card company. When I was going to this location, the equipment was mediocre at best. Staff is mostly friendly. I have since moved to California, sent one letter to cancel in August. Apparently it was never received. Despite a county-wide lockdown where I live, the general manager Val Nupomuceno has refused to cancel my membership despite multiple attempts, and has since stopped responding to my emails. I followed their steps to cancel in person and have the form signed stating I was all set and you would think it would be simple...NOPE! I had signed up to work out at this gym. I was very excited. I arrived for my "training workout" with one of the personal trainers. Despite being a beginner at weight lifting - something I told them over and over - they had me do step ups on a very high box. After leaving, I was in a decent amount of pain. I tried several times subsequently to go utilize my membership, only to have to cut short due to pain - even walking on the treadmill became difficult. I have been diagnosed with two hip labrum tears. I had put my membership on freeze (I had originally went in to cancel but the girl talked me into freezing instead). Cut to 4 months later and my credit card is being charged for a full membership again - no notice, nothing. Now they are telling me that I knew this 4 months ago when they emailed me about the freeze. According to them, I need to cancel my membership by either coming in person, or sending a letter. REALLY? In 2023? I am unable to drive because of a procedure I just had to fix my hip, so snail mail is the only option? What a joke. I shouldn't really be surprised though considering the shape of the gym itself. Definitely would not recommend. read more

You get what you pay for. I am so glad I left this gym. The classroom is always filthy and there are pieces of floor that are missing. Equipment is constantly broken for long periods of time. The staff is unfriendly and can't be bothered to clean or fix anything when you ask. The really good instructors either quit or are constantly out and are replaced by incompetent subs or no one shows up at all with no notice. They try to push you to buy the after burn package and are rude to you when you refuse. Upper management either doesn't care or can't be bothered to address the issues. And realize that they can cancel your membership for any reason they feel like at any time. Read your contract !!! I have joined another gym which was a bit more but I am completely happy and would never step back into Club 24 again if you paid me!!! read more

They've been charging my mother for a membership, I was under the impression I cancelled, despite not being able to produce any sign of authorization or note of card information being changed. This gym certainly provides good value for your money. I have the basic membership, so I can't comment on the classes, tanning or water massage tables. They lack some of the amenities I had at my prior gym like soap and shampoo in the showers, and the locker room is pretty spartan, but for the price I can't complain. They have plenty of equipment, the place is clean and the hours are great, so I am happy there. read more

Gym membership is cheap so that's a plus I guess. They have a HIIT/boot camp area, movie theater with cardio equipment, showers, sauna, tanning and massage chairs. But they only have your basic equipment. They don't have wall balls. Not a single women's 35lb bar. No bumper plates. Good luck trying to do a deadlift with anything less than 45lb plates on each side -- you will hurt your back. No pull up rigs. I mean, a lot of the stuff that you will find at a typical gym. I get that you get what you pay for, but my main pet peeves with this place are: a) none of the rowers are fully functional and it has been like that for months; b) some of the areas around the gym could use some cleaning. Fans in the studio, where they hold all their classes, are covered in dust and/or mold; c) the fact that tanning is included is great BUT the machine isn't that powerful (it's pretty old as far as I can tell) so I doubt you would get tan. read more

You can't get a better gym for the price. My membership is super cheap since I don't do the after burn program. They have a great selection of cardio, free weights, and machines. They also have a large area (with great equipment like tires, TRX, and battle ropes) that you can use when they don't have classes in session. The staff is super friendly and the gym is kept clean (an added plus is that it doesn't smell!). If you're into it, they also have a cardio movie theatre and offer classes like zumba and yoga. There is more than enough parking and the gym is kept at a comfortable temperature. While I've never used them and can't comment on their quality, they do have tanning booths and massage chairs. The only drawback is that if you like doing body weight exercises (like burpees, jumping jacks, or even crunches) there is only a small area to do them when the after burn sessions are taking place. The area can get crowded so I usually end up doing those types of exercises next to the machines. read more

The Middletown gym is OK. Been a member for 2 years. Soon after I joined I noticed many pieces of equipment had tears and torn areas on the padding. I like to ride the stationary bike, there were 3 of those bikes that had ripped seats. I inquired and was given lip service by the staff and manager... it wasn't until a great manager started last August. She got all the repairs done and three new seats for the bikes. What she did in a couple months the previous manager couldn't or did not care to in 2 years... Wow. And because she voiced her opinion on how much she wanted to respond to all members concerns and the lack of help she was getting from upper management, they let her go.. and just before Christmas. I found out also she was a single Mom with kids. Unreal! They have such a high turnover rate with staff, they do not seem to care about getting people into a career nor do they see quality, hardworking people who care about the members. Club 24 cares more about the money. I hope Planet Fitness buys this particular club..It would be an improvement. Past recent reviews are correct, you get what you pay for. No more tanning, that's going out, a somewhat workable hydromassage, cracked walls, burnt out lighting, tiny benches in change rooms, no hooks for clothing in smaller change rooms with no where to put your clothes except on a tiny round chair,,, my goodness! I joined last year... I wasn't impressed... classes weren't consistent and trainers changed almost weekly. When I moved out of town, I provided them with THREE certified letters with my change of address. They would call me every two weeks to tell me they needed more information about my move, they lost the certified letter, etc... anything they could to stall. They are STILL stalking me SEVEN months later... it is almost scary!! They call my cell and email me daily. Called again this morning and my "balance" (I was paid in full when I moved)... but they say my "balance" is almost TRIPLED what it was last month. AVOID THIS PLACE!! read more

The facility at Club 24 is excellent and very clean. The staff members are friendly and helpful but the management is exceptionally poor. No follow through, promises made and not kept, blaming others for his mistakes, unclear when explaining things. I went in an asked for the mangers full name so I could write in about an issue and was told they weren't "allowed" to give his name out. Inexcusable in this day and age of transparency. Been going to this gym for 3 years now. Would have stopped last year if I didn't get a membership as a gift. God damn if I could get the gas money I've wasted driving to this gym and having to turn around, because a 24 hour gym is closed for NO REASON, I'd be able to pay for a new membership someplace else threefold. I'm batshit pissed I'm gonna break something I got so much energy I can't use from this preworkout. The owner low key makes bank here and doesn't do jack but paints the walls a new color and adds useless tiles to the front, turf, etc. Sure he bought a used incline and some machines, but you only got one squat rack chief. Get some more plates while ur at it boss man, tired of using dumbbells on the leg press for more weight. Equipment is lacking and they don't want meatheads coming in there place. Tried cancelling my membership for about a year, figuring my year would be up so I would just keep paying for the year and then be done with it. I now get a collections notice for over 200$ that I now have to pay because I didn't realize after the year they keep charging which is illegal technically. Put in complaint with BBB which really did nothing given I'm not the first person to do that, they had 10 other complaints for the Middletown location. They never tried contacting via phone just email which I do not check, but when my membership was still in the year contract they had no problem calling my phone to get my new debit card info. This gym is a scam, they know they are scamming people. This is why BBB all the gyms are rated D or lower.Much nicer gyms out there, and ones that don't make it a complete hassle to cancel. I joined club 24 last May thinking that this gym was going to be a great way to exercise and get fit. I went for a couple months straight and it was alright. The gym was clean, but a bit awkward feeling. None of the workers were terribly friendly. Anywho, I went to college so I went in an asked if I could cancel because I would no longer be close enough to go. Not only did they tell me that's not a viable excuse to cancel, but they messed up at least a handful of my payments in the remaining months. Thinking my subscription had been canceled at the end of my remaining time, like I asked when I went in, I now looked and they have been charging me for the past two months with no contract after my subscription ended! I'm floored in all honesty. I've been treated like a pool of money, not even a thank you or have a great day when I speak to the workers. I'm just appalled in the customer service, keeping up with subscriptions and customers wanting to cancel, and payments (they were all over the place, never the same day every week like they should). read more
