My wife and I walked into Club Encounters after paying their $35 entrance fee. We soon realized that we had made a BIG mistake. This was around 11 pm on a Saturday night and there were only around eighteen people present, not counting the staff. Twelve of them were mostly overweight, older men in jeans and t-shirts. The DJ booth was empty and the music was too low a volume and the playlist was terrible. The club had a faint, stale odor and the interior looked quite shabby. We'd been to another swingers group while on vacation but wanted to find something closer to us (we from Southern AZ). After some research we decided to try this place. Yes, this is a place to go to have sex or see others having sex. If that's not your intent, find somewhere else. We had a great time! Upon learning we were new, the attendant gave us a great tour...very informative and hilarious. Very matter of fact too and ready to control situations or enforce rules (no means no, no rubbing up, no loitering where not allowed, no doing things that are obviously unwelcomed or ruin other people's time like loud conversations in rooms that are supposed to be for sex, pick up your own sex trash...) Downstairs is a club like atmosphere...snacks and drinks (most are free, anything in a bottle costs...no alcohol)...just okay, but really you aren't there to eat. Some people will dance naked, lots of exposed bits and masturbators...not really our thing. Upstairs are the rooms...there's a lounge area with couches where some people will put on a show or you can sit and talk. Attendant's area is right there also. Hallways with several rooms to choose from. These include: A room full of mirrors and a few other rooms where you can have privacy with the person or persons of your choice. A couple's room where everyone in there has to be a couple and has to be...busy...within 5 minutes. It's okay to get friendly with other couples. Big bed and other furniture...this room has peep holes and a near constant audience looking in. An orgy room you can enter at will. Some interesting furniture...fun chairs and swings. Staff is constantly cleaning and changing sheets. Bathrooms are pretty basic but get cleaned several times a night as well. Towels are available to wipe up. We found plenty of other couples...a variety of age ranges, most very friendly and clean. Some very attractive, some with great moves and all pleasant. Many of folks in the lifestyle, some newer like us. If you have any etiquette questions just ask...staff will gladly answer and most of the patrons are happy to have a conversation as well. Believe it or not, if you want you can hang out here and have normal conversation too. We showed up a bit after 10...good time to have your pick of rooms. Party really started picking up around midnight...we left around 3...most of the types we were interested in had kind of wound down...the guys coming in at that point seemed a little rowdier, so I think the timing worked out for us. Lots of options for couples...you can voyeur, full or soft swap if you find willing partners (others are there to have a good time too...you can probably find someone, particularly if you are a single female or a couple), go one on one or groups, oral or anything else. Bring condoms...we heard they provided them, but didn't see them. I'm not sure they do - we brought our own though so it didn't matter. Not much lingerie to be seen while we were there, but its definitely welcome. It's a pretty het place in case you were wondering. I (the female of our couple) got my breasts fondled by other women a lot though....who were all very polite and asked both of us if they could. One kind of issue is the number of single men...but all were respectful to us and the staff was ready to keep in line if not...of course most would love to play. The place we'd been before had a limit of 5 per night. This place allows as many as will pay...the fee is, as of writing $35 for a single man. It's only $30 for a couple, and almost free for single women (something like $5?). I kind of wish the price for single men was higher...there's a few too many, but again, we didn't have a huge issue with any of them. We'd actually advertised on craigslist in advance and met a couple there we'd communicated with before hand...we'd probably take that approach again - makes sure there's someone there you're interested in, but if it doesn't work out...there's lots of other options too, at least on a Saturday night :) The group we'd been with before in the other city only met once a week and required membership, but had some nice features including theme nights and new couples orientations. This place was a lot looser and more laissez-faire...you can come any night, do not have to become a member, and the atmosphere is more clubby, less social group. Still a whole lot of fun though. Visit: 08/23/2015 We were very excited about this club at first. We were excited that they had a social media presence; it's 2015, all clubs should have a social media following. We were excited about how close it was. We were excited about the mixed crowd we saw inside. We were excited about we got our tour...We thought we had finally found a home club in Phoenix after being disappointed for two weeks. We were wrong.Let's start from the beginning. The club is located in a pretty shady area on the west side of Phoenix. The parking close to and attached to the club seemed to be pretty limited, but there was some parking across the street. The club is not a private club which means that there are no membership fees, yay, but also means that there is no alcohol on premise, boo. If you want to drink, you'll have to consume your alcohol in your privately owned vehicle. Couples were only $30 to get in, single males are $35 to get in, and single ladies are free. We were happy to see that there were not as many creepy single males sitting in the corner jacking off, but there were still a few. We were not happy to see a sign posted as we were walking into the club after we paid that stated, "This is a heterosexual club". We were very confused. A huge part of the lifestyle is that it is SUPPOSED to be an open-minded and judge free environment where people can be themselves in an atmosphere that is unlike the outside vanilla world. So we asked ourselves if this meant that no bi-sexual women were allowed. Then we asked ourselves if they were actually, publicly discriminating against any and all bi people in general who enjoy the lifestyle setting. There was a bar to the right as you enter the actual club area. We asked the bartender, who was a blonde female, about the sign and the statement of "This is a heterosexual club". Her response was, and this is a direct quote: "Cause the gays can marry now." Other than thinking, "are you fucking serious?!", there was no other response that could be given to that reply.We didn't actually get a tour, so we had to show ourselves around. There were bathrooms just beyond where you signed in and where the infamous sign was posted; men to the left and women to the right. Down the hall after you check in, before you enter the actual club, there is a hot tub room with what appeared to be an amazing in ground hot tub. Plus there were mirrors surrounding the hot tub on all sides with lockers for personal belongings and two showers as well. Once we went into the actual club, there was a video room with porn playing to the left and a random creepy single guy sitting there jacking off. As you walked further into the club, on the same side there was a VIP couples only area separated by a sheer curtain. There was a couch in this area, a love seat, TV, and a table. We weren't sure if that cost extra or not since we did not get an actual tour. At the end of the wall on the left was a video room where there was a cut out in the wall, much like a bar area, and guys were sitting there looking out onto the crowd; one of them of course was jacking off. There was a pool table in this social area as well, 16 tables, a small dance floor which was lined with mirrors. The dance floor also had two stripper poles on it which were about seven to eight feet apart. The clientele seemed to be pretty mixed for the area, but no one was dressed in the luau theme other than Angie who came up to us as we sat down and introduced herself. We weren't sure who she was exactly, but she was very friendly.We ventured upstairs to explore the club on our own since we didn't get a tour at all and we met Cliff; he was cool. He is the person you check in with when you want to use one of the upstairs play rooms. He is seated at the top of the stairs in a social area with a couple of couches. Between where he is seat and the first room, there is a towel/sheet/cleaner station for all of your towels/sheets/cleaning supplies. Again, there's no alcohol, but the bar area downstairs did have refreshments and food to the right as you walk in the club.The clientele was much more physically attractive and seemed to be more social than the other Phoenix club that we visited, but the fact that the club publicly discriminates and offends in the most basic of ways with their sign AND their staff doesn't deny it with their answers about, "yea, well aren't a lesbian club, we aren't a gay club, we're a swingers club" and "cause the gays can marry now", turned us off completely. read more
