My party of 5 got seated in the far back corner table. Ordered several rounds of drinks, as I gifted my buddies some Cuban cigars. It was a busy weeknight and the place was packed. Service was not great and waitress was very cavalier as we racked a nice tab. We also ordered dinner. I went against my instincts and ordered the tuna steak which was fabulous. Here's the kicker I asked for the bill and there was an "expected per person cigar charge" because we had our own ...not an issue. I paid the bill and told the waitress to give each of my buddies a cigar equivalent to their per person minimum..........would you believe I got big time attitude and resistance. I told her to get me the menu, and I read her their policy verbatim that states minimum per person cigar purchase. I paid the fee and am entitled to x number of cigars. I visited Club Macanudo for the first time on March 21, 2026 My experience was just okay, so I'm giving 3 stars. The atmosphere was nice, but the service was disappointing. I had to flag down different servers each time I needed something, twice for drink orders and again just to get the check. Because of the lack of attention, I didn't feel comfortable ordering another drink and honestly just wanted to leave. I also never received water, while guests who arrived before and after me were given water without asking. This was my first time here and I must say I was impressed. The ambiance was relaxed, very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming. We started out with drinks followed by appetizers and both were absolutely fantastic! I ordered what was called The Godmother which consisted of Tito's and Amaretto with lemon and it was spectacular! He enjoyed his drink as well- it had bourbon but I can't recall the name of his concoction. We ordered chicken quesadillas with french fries which he so gallantly fed me (how cute). We also shared the roasted chicken platter with vegetables. He had two great cigars for us to smoke so he had them cut & light them for us. My cigar was much milder than his and I enjoyed it. Club Macanudo did not disappoint. A lot of it had to do with the company I was with I guess. He kept it quite interesting, lol. The only place I know in New York, where you can enjoy A perfectly grilled Filet Mignon, a drink of your choice, and a well fermented Cigar. Come right before 7p, to secure street parking near by (almost didn't want to share this tip ). The service here is top notch. The crowd is amazing, incredibly diverse, culturally and income wise. The food was delicious. The cigar choices are made from a menu, but you can approve your selection before smoking it. ( I do prefer a walk around a humidor, but the selections are high quality). My water had been empty for 20 minutes old food still siiting on our table. I gave time before i had to flag someone down to remove the food. I then asked for the manager. Who then offered us a free drink I declined because im not here for free. I just want the same service of the other customers. However, my friend accepted the drink. Club Macanudo is currently the premiere cigar lounge of New York City. Located at 63rd and Madison, it is in a prime neighborhood, Yorkville or the Upper East Side, and caters well to those who wish to have an upscale cigar lounge experience. You don't have to be a member to enjoy the Mac. Non-members can sit on the comfortable stools around the bar, unless at the invitation of any member seated at the tables by the bar or in the back of the house. Upon entry, one sees the front desk and comfortable lounge seating all around. A coat check and restrooms are across from the front desk and towards the lounge and bar area. One has to be prepared to pay the freight at this classy lounge with wood paneled walls burnished to bring out the fine woodgrain and lustre. There is a large screen in the bar area, but one hardly pays attention to it here. Brass and copper fittings around the well appointed and stocked bar further the refined statement. Check out the copper or brass surface of that bar! The Mac is where you can bring a Lady who will enjoy the air filtration and air handling to minimize the impact on her hair and clothing. I appreciate it as well. The Mac is where you can entertain clients, enjoy premium sticks, and enjoy the flavor and aroma of what you are smoking without it being choked out from ambient smoke. The Mac is not for those on a budget. The pours at the bar are admittedly too close to pinky pours at above average rates, but I note the pours are a little better if you are with members. They can make nearly whatever cocktail you desire and have a broad selection of wine and a few beers to compliment the vast liquor selection. They also have a good selection of cigars on the menu. Membership here at the Mac has its privileges. However, it is open to non-members every day, unless they have special events, like poker nights and benefits, or private events. Sometimes they have live music open to everyone. Otherwise, the kitchen is serving up good food for table service or at the bar. I have seen Grace at the bar for at least ten years and have always enjoyed her. So will you. Ask for the house made potato chips. They're fantastic! The only other lounge in NYC that rivals the Mac for elegance and class is the Carnegie Club, but the Mac is at the top for the City currently. It's open until around 1:30 or 2:00 AM, so you and your friends have time for those sticks and conversation. Club Macanudo is definitely for those of discriminating tastes and the pockets to back it up. Four and a half stars! read more

Reservation was simple to get on a Wednesday night. The hostess was friendly and informative. I am not a club member, and so the reservation requires a $40 spend, with $20 towards a cigar and $20 towards food/drink. The waitress came over once to take our cigar and drink order and never returned, except to bring us our cigars and drinks. We may have ordered food but the waitress didn't come back. Lots of old timers in the place, likely members, and they seemed to get good attention. Older crowd. Bit of an old Manhattan vibe. A round of drinks, and 3 cigars, and the bill was $240 plus tip, so expect to spend at least $100 a person for a drink and cigar. Pricey. Bathrooms need an update. Ventilation was great in the space, but was frigid. I kept my coat on. We ordered two old fashions and it was the worst old-fashioned I ever had. They muddle oranges and maraschino cherries into their old fashions which I've never seen in this classic drink, it made the drink entirely too sweet and because the orange was muddled, the drink was pulpy. I probably would've sent the drinks back had I known they were $40 a piece and had the waitress came back for a check in. TVs are a nice size. Bar stools are huge with a nice back and swivel, and there is a good size half circle bar. Chairs at tables were comfortable. Food at the other tables looked pretty good, but also everything is super pricey and given the drink and wait staff disappointment, I opted to not explore. They have a competent staff who will cut/punch and light your cigar with requisite skill. I was one of the few people there who was not smoking a cigar. The Old Fashion drinks were ok. I actually got charged for 1 round more than we actually drank. My meal of Shrimp Cocktail (huge shrimp) and Grilled Filet accompanied by a glass of Bordeaux Castera was outstanding. I really enjoyed the food. A glass of Fonseca Tawny Port was my dessert. The experience is very classy and unique, however, you really have to be into cigars and that traditional club house feel. I'm not a big fan of smoke, but, they did have these lovely air filters that helped out with the smell. As for food and drink, top tier, classic American. Unfortunately the management and general management at Macanudos/Nyc are forces to reckon with. There is a serious aura of lack of respect for there patron/members. I've been a patron of Macanudos/nyc for a long time and a paying member for 2 years. Last week I was sitting at the bar having a drink and smoking a cigar when a woman who I've seen frequent the establishment numerous times was sitting at the another end of the bar decided to give me the finger. I was so insulted since this was rude/ disrespectful and unnecessary. By the way I'm sure the camera system at the bar has video of everything that took place. I approached the manager, explained to him what happened and his response was (isn't she a pretty girl) 2 days later she was at the bar. The level of respect at this establishment only for certain people. I'm a a paying member what happened to the level of respect that I deserve as a member and a human being. It doesn't exist. The next incident is disgusting. I was having dinner one night and my stomach wasn't feeling well. I needed to use the bathroom. There was a private member party happening in the back room where the public toilet is. I asked the general manager if I could use the bathroom and he refused to let me use it. he said it was a member party. My response was I'm a member also, I'm not feeling well can I use the toilet. He said no, use the toilet in the front. The one in the back is clean and the toilet in the front is smaller than a closet and it's always filthy. I left , not using the smaller bathroom fearful of diseases. At this time I had no place to go so I left trying to get into my car when I had an accident. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life. The next day I was subjected to jeering from some ignorant people that attend the establishment. Please be aware of the treatment you could receive from management, which is borderline abusive. If you wanna pay a lot of money to be disrespected, Macanudos's is you place. What kind of people don't allow someone who is ill to use the public facilities. Especially a paying member. Please be aware you may be the next victim. There is a complete late lack of managerial skills lacking at Macanudos's/Nyc beginning with the general manager. he has some deep rooted personal problems that prohibit him from effectively doing his job in my opinion Beware! read more

Came here for dinner for my husbands birthday. Made the reservation a month in advance. This place did not disappoint. Customer service was top tier!! My steak was decent, a little more well cooked than medium (how I ordered it). It was still delicious though. The cocktails were perfect. I was introduced to this place by my sister and her husband who are regulars now (they have their own humidor there and receive 10% off their bill as a result). Nice atmosphere with interesting artwork. Lots of 100+ year old color prints of American Indian chiefs from areas along the East Coast. Excellent scotch and cigar lists. Moderately expensive as these places go. They charged me $5 for a club soda even though I also bought a scotch and one of their heavily marked up cigars. Packed at night. Service is spotty. It took a long time to get change when I paid the bill. They asked me if I needed change when I paid the $50 tab with three twenty dollar bills. Sorry, the service didn't rate 20%, especially on a cigar I had to ask to have cut for me. Men's room was a mess, with paper towels all over the floor. They clearly need either a larger waste bin or to have someone service the restrooms more often. My second lunchtime visit was much better. The bartender was courteous and efficient. Very quiet and relaxing spot on a Saturday afternoon. Opening hours are a big plus. Most of the other decent cigar lounges don't open until the evening.
